The sun was starting to rise, and I was still fully awake. I was so tired, but I didn't really want to fall asleep. I was too scared.
After a while I got up because I was hungry. I got myself an apple and a water bottle. I was hungry, tiered, dehydrated, and all in all, I was in bad shape. After my little snack, I got up and looked around the Glade.
Nothing much but I did find some plumbing, I followed it to a showerhead. I tuned it on and took off my clothes, and got under the running water. Though it was cold, it was relaxing.
After washing my body and scrubbing the blood out of my hair I stopped the water and got new clothes out of a box.
I'm guessing it was around 5am when I hear a loud bang coming from who knows where at this point. It scared the living shit out of me though.
My heart skips a beat or two when I look up and saw the big walls of the glade split open down the middle. I was shocked. I couldn't move. I was frozen in fear. The loud noise of the large rocks opening and scraping against the floor overwhelmed me. The ground was shaking, and I fell onto my butt.
I curled up into a ball and covered my ears with my hands. I closed my eyes as tight as I could and waited, I waited until it finally stopped, 3 minutes later. I very slowly took my hands from my head and looked up.
What I saw astonished me. A large gap it the center of the east wall. The only reason I knew it was east is because somehow, I remembered the sun comes up from the east so when I saw the sun come up from there, I knew it was east.
Funny how I can remember that, but I can't remember my family, my friends, nothing. The people who sent me here, there total assholes! Why did they do this to me.
Once I got up on my feet, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and walked back to my little camp. Once I got there, I saw a small beetle on the blanket I slept on.
''What the hell?'' I thought.
I decided not to think about it since I had a lot more pressing matters on my hands like a big opening is a wall of a mysterious place I got sent to. You know?
I got out my machete and walked over to the opening on the wall. I looked through the opening and decided to go explore it. I got some food and made a sandwich and brought and apple and water bottle with me as well.
I got back to the opening and stopped right where the Glade ended and the... who knows where began.
As I stepped foot into the outside part of the Glade, I felt myself visibly shiver. I got a weird feeling and contemplated going back. But eventually decided to keep going out of curiosity. I stated walking when I suddenly came to a split in the path.
Which way did I want to go? After contemplating for a while, I decided to go left. I didn't know why I decided left, I just did.
I kept walking when I came to yet another split. What is this place? I had gone to the right this time and just continued walking.
Another split, but this time I could go left or straight. I decided to keep going straight on my path to nowhere. After a few twists and turns I turned around and started to walk back to my camp for tonight since it was getting dark.
I started running because I had a weird feeling in my chest, that something was going to happen to me soon if I didn't.
Once I got back, I sat down on my blanket. Once sitting, my stomach grumbled quite loudly. That's when I remembered that I haven't had any food. I took my apple and sandwich and started eating.
I then thought of what I was going to do later. There wasn't much I could do here. I was by myself. Nothing to entertain myself.
Then I thought of what I was going to do tomorrow, go back out of the Glade? I guess it could be a way out? I wondered if there even was a way out of this place, all those large corridors that led to nowhere. Like some sort of maze.
A maze, of course!
How could I not see it before?
This place is a maze and I'm in the middle.
After figuring that out I had to make a game plan for myself. I wrote a list of things I would need for running in the maze everyday. The list consisted of; a backpack, a watch, a pen and paper, running shoes, and a hair tie. My y/h/l, y/h/c hair was sticking to my face all day, the sun was hot and I was walking around all day, and I needed something to tie it back. Sue me.
As I was finishing up my list and troughing it in the Box, I heard a loud noise coming once again from, what I now know as, the Maze. It was the same sound as this morning. The loud grinding of rock against rock. It was a horrible sound, one I thought I would never get used to.
Once it ended, I looked over to the door to see that it was closed. Why? Why was it closed? That's when I heard it. The high pitched, animal scream coming from inside the maze. Once again, I was scared for my life as I heard it once more, but from a different side of the Glade.
One thing was certain, I did not want to meet one of those things.
It was night, the sun was down, and I haven't slept since I got sent up here. So, I lied down in attempt to sleep, and almost the moment my head hit the pillow, I fell into a deep sleep. Hoping that the next day I would just wake up and this would all be but a dream.
-time skip to the next morning-
The next morning I woke up and the doors were open and the sun was in the middle of the sky. Had I really slept until noon the next day? And through the opening of the doors? I guess so. most likely due to the little adventure I had the other day.
Well, I guess it wasn't all a dream, sadly. I groaned when I realized I wasn't dreaming and that I was stuck here.
I was guessing that the doors had some kind of schedule but what did I know? Not much, I can tell you that.
I got up and walked to the box of food. Once again, I took an apple, a sandwich, and water. After my snack, it was, what I could only guess, 3 o'clock. I decided to skip going into the maze and took a walk through the Glade.
At one point, I found a pond deep into the woods, it was astonishing. It wasn't to big but not small either. It was a nice clear blue watered pond. Some nice soft sand around it. It was quite relaxing. I knew this would be my new spot to come to when I needed to. I stayed there for a little while but decided after a while to keep going.
Once I had gone around all the Glade about twice, I had gone and got my machete and cut a large log into smaller pieces of firewood.
Once I had done that, I realized I was hungry once more so, this time I changed it up and took an orange, a sandwich and a water. Not much of a difference, but it was enough for me.
After supper, I got back up and made myself a small fire, in the same spot as last time. Once I got that done, I sit down next to it and just relaxed. Well, I tried too anyways.
The ground started to shake, and I knew what it meant; the doors are closing. I looked up at the sky to see what time it was. I concluded that it was about 6 in the afternoon. Tomorrow I'll see if I was right to assume the doors opened and closed at the same time every day.
Once the doors closed, I realized something, I didn't get scared this time. When the doors closed, I didn't instinctively roll up into a ball like I did the last couple times. Am I getting used to it? Well, I guess that's a good thing since I seem to be stuck here, for now. Or I hope it's just for now. I really hope this is temporary.
I put my head on my pillow and started drifting off into a restless sleep. I told myself that I would stay here tomorrow and possibly try to build myself a small shelter or something of the sort. But for now, I let sleep overtake me one again.
