"Baby, are you sure you're alright with this? I feel bad," Helena asked, her gaze concerned. You were in the back seat of a limo, driving to the studio for her interview on The Tonight Show.
"Why would you feel bad?" you asked, genuinely confused what she was talking about.

"It's just that we moved to New York for your job, not mine. Of course, the first big thing that happens has to do with me. This should be your time," she explained. You took her hand, which was resting in her lap.
"Hellie, no. You had an opportunity, and I'm so proud of you for that. It just so happens that I don't start filming until Monday. That's not your fault," you said, in a hopefully comforting way.

"Are you sure you aren't mad?" she asked, her eyes wide.
"Positive," you told her, kissing the top of her head, "now, can we talk about how absolutely stunning you look in that blue dress?"
She laughed. "Thank you," she said softly, kissing your lips deeply.

"Hello, hello welcome. Go down the hallway to the door on the left, you'll find your dressing room," a rushed official-looking woman told Helena, "your makeup artist Ryan will be there shortly". Helena thanked her and you walked down to the room.

"This is so exciting," you exclaimed once she shut the door.
She took your hand. "It is now that I have you. This kind of thing can get lonely," she told you.
"I promise, I'll be right in the front row," you said, looking into her deep, gorgeous eyes. She leaned down to kiss your lips, wrapping her hands around your body. You kissed her back, but there was a knock at the door when your kiss began to heat up.

Helena sighed. "Come in," she called.
"Hey, I'm Ryan!" said the person, walking in and shutting the door behind them, "my pronouns are they/them, and I'll be your makeup artist for the night".
"So nice to meet you! I'm Helena and this is my girlfriend, y/n," she pointed to you.

You blushed, because you still couldn't get over her calling you her girlfriend.
"Of course I know who you are. You're only my favorite celebrity couple ever. I'm sure everyone tells you that," they added.
You laughed. "I like hearing it every time," you said.
Helena smiled. "Me too".

Ryan did her makeup, and you watched, talking and joking to entertain her. She looked beautiful, of course, but she always did to you.
"Okay, that's it," Ryan said once they finished, "let me know if you need any touch ups, but please keep the kissing to a minimum". You and Helena laughed, thanking them.

A little while later, the rushed looking woman came in again, telling you to take your place in the front row and for your girlfriend to head out to the stage.
"Good luck, baby," you told her, kissing her very gently so you didn't mess up her makeup. She squeezed your hand, then headed off with the woman.

You sat down in your chair, settling in when you saw Jimmy Fallon. I swear to god, if this bitch hits on her, you thought. He was reading a piece of paper, probably with talking points, when he noticed you.
"Y/n, right?" he asked, and you nodded, "so nice to meet you".

Damnit, he's nice, you thought. You said hi, and talked to him a little while about the script.
"We have to start now, but do you mind if I call you onstage?" he asked. You had no idea how to respond to that.
"Um, yeah, sure," you responded, definitely not prepared for that.
"Great, see you then," he said, walking away.

The show started, and he spent a while asking Helena questions about the movie. Her beauty was captivating, and you could do nothing else but stare at her. Every time she laughed, you automatically felt yourself smile. Suddenly, you heard your name, knocking you out of your daydreaming.

"So, you met your girlfriend on set? I didn't even know you were gay," he told her.
"I'm not putting a label on it," she said eloquently, "all I know is that I'm attracted to her". You smiled, thinking about how attracted you were to her, also.
"Do you mind if we invite her up here?" he asked, and she said no. He waved you to the stage, the audience clapping. How long is this interview? 5 minutes, probably? Not too much time to embarrass myself, you thought.

""Hi!" you said in an upbeat voice, sitting down next to Helena. She squeezed your hand comfortingly.
"How did your friendship on the set of this movie lead to more?" he asked, putting his face in his hands like this was the more interesting thing in the world.

You explained the story to him: her asking you to dinner and all. He nodded, making little comments here and there. He turned to your girlfriend again once you finished.
"Did you know right away that you like her?"
"I did," she said confidently, "I realized I liked her as more than a friend probably that night at dinner".

You blushed again, on live tv, in front of a studio audience. Everyone seemed to find it cute, though.
"Well, it's no surprise why you're quickly becoming one of the most favorite celebrity couples," he said, wrapping up the show shortly after.

A little while later, you were outside the studio. The limo would have driven up from the parking lot, but it was a nice night so you decided to walk there. She took your hand casually, looking out on the city lights.

"Thanks for coming with me," she said, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
"I had fun," you told her, leaning into her shoulder.
"Why don't we get home so I can thank you properly," she suggested, a cocky tone to her voice.
You smirked. "Let's go".
