The Past or The Present?

Chapter 14

"Good to see you again Babe."

Agad ko namang binawi ang kamay ko sa kanya. Nakita ko ang pagkagulat sa kanyang mata, hurt? tama ba ang nakikita ko? nasaktan sya sa ginawa ko? Pero binalewala ko iyon, kailangan kong maipakita sa kanya na wala na syang epekto pa sa akin. Umupo ako sa upuan na katapat nya at ganun din ang ginawa nya.

Tinawag nya ang waiter and the waiter gave us the menu. Sinabi naman ni Chanz ang order nya at talagang di pa rin nagbabago ang favorite nya Salisbury Steak with Steamed veggies and Java Rice.

"Babe what is your order? Same order pa rin ba? Paella Pasta and Garlic Bread or Pasta Negrita?"

I blushed. After all, di pa rin nya nakakalimutan ang favorites ko. I just nodded. "I'll have the Pasta Negrita" and give the menu to the waiter habang sya ay umoorder for our drinks and dessert.

Diko maiwasan ang titigan sya, he's angelic face, chinky eyes, long eyebrow and tantalizing set of eyes, his nose and pinkish lips. How I miss staring at his face and touch them. Narinig ko naman ang pagtikhim nya kaya bumalik ako sa realidad.

I sipped on my glass and cleared my throat.

"So how are you babe?" nagiwas ako ng tingin sa kanya. Naiilang ako sa endearment namin.

"Stop calling me Babe, Matagal na tayong tapos and we are here tonight to settle things between us right?" He sipped on his drinks and looked directly in my eyes...

"Yes, we are here to settle things, Fatima.. Sorry nakasanayan ko lang na tawagin kang Babe.." at yumuko sya.

"Mmmm..." Nakikita ko ang paglalaro nya sa mga utensils sa lamesa sign na kabado sya.

"I would like to have a nice dinner with you, can we talk about it later? I promise I'll tell everything. Just give me this time to have a normal dinner with you just like the old times." at tinignan nya ako, alam kong sincere sya sa sinabi nya. I just nodded at him as he flashed a smile on his face. That smile that reaches his ears. I know that its real.

"So how are you?" he asked.

"I'm fine and doing great... hmm how about you?" Alam kong awkward to at napakahirap ibalik ng treatment ko sa kanya before.

"I'm good and I have been running our company since Kuya Tom had his accident and had been in a coma for almost 6 months, but he's all well now. He have a happy family with a good wife and healthy children."  Nanlaki ang mata ko sa sinabi nya, hindi ko nabalitaan na naaksidente ang kapatid nya.

He's brother is one cold hearted person and puro business lang ang priority. Simula ng namatay ang daddy nila mas lalong napalayo si Kuya Tom sa kanila. "I'm sorry to hear that." I sincerely told him. Umiling naman sya sa akin.

"All is well now and just like what you always told me in the past, everything happens for a reason. Maybe I am destined to run our company so that Kuya Tom will have his family now." then he smiled showing his perfect set of teeth. I just nodded at him and drink.

"So how about you? what are you doing lately?' Maybe this dinner will go smoothly kahit na ramdam ko ang kaba sa dibdib ko lalo na kapag tinitignan nya ako.

"I've been managing our business for 5 years now." Simple at diretsong sagot ko sa kanya.

"Good to hear that, alam kong nasa pagluluto talaga ang passion mo. How about Tito Kurt and Tita Emily? Nagkasalubong kami ni Kuya Elton last time sa Makati and he told me na naospital si Tito? But knowing him being a health conscious man, I didn't know na diabetic pala sya." Updated talaga sya? sabagay magkasundo sila ni Kuya, kahit na anong nangyari sa nakaraan mas pinili ni Kuya ang tagal ng pinagsamahan nila ni Chanz.

"Ahh oo, it is in our genes namana ni Daddy, Naging matakaw kasi sya sa sweets lately.. Ewan ko ba kung kailan nagkaedad e tsaka nahilig sa chocolates." and we both laughed mas nagiging light ang aura naming dalawa. Hanggang sa dumating ang food namin and we talked about random stuff. When we are having our dessert biglang nagsalita si Chanz.

"Fatima I'm sorry." those words that I've been longing to hear, it hit a part in my heart na syang nagpatigil sa pagkain ko. As I looked at him I saw a tear fell from his eyes. Nanlambot ang puso ko, ayokong makita syang nasasaktan ng dahil na naman sa akin. So I held his hand and smile at him. I am willing to forgive him, I am ready to listen on his explanation.

He stand up and kneel infront of me. "Fatima, I'm sorry I just made a choice... I'm sorry if I let you go. Everything happens so fast..."

I cupped his face and look directly in his eyes. When suddenly I sense that someone is watching us.

I saw a set of eyes, those eyes...

What is Vinn doing here?

He's standing and looking in our table.

He then left the establishment. Agad naman akong napatayo but Chanz hold my arm.

"Fatima hear my explanation first."

As I looked at him and then at the door where Vinn walked away I saw Alex at agad din nyang sinundan si Vinn. Paano na ito? Ano ng gagawin ko?
