Chapter 41

We decided that Tavin will stay at home para mas mapabilis ang kanyang paggaling, Ayaw man nyang pumayag sa suggestion ko ay wala pa rin syang nagawa. Nandito ako ngayon sa bakeshop para asikasuhin ang operation nito and since aalis ako this saturday ay kinailangan kong mag-train ng mga employees na sya munang gagawa ng mga orders habang wala pa ako.

Baking is really sensitive... You should have the exact measurement, right temperature and equipment used or else hindi mo makukuha yung gusto mong output.

"Okay belle, You have the recipe card and alam mo naman na ang pag-gamit ng mga equipment. Don't worry nandyan naman si Anna and Paul to help you para sa 800 pcs red velvet cupcakes."

"Yes po mam." Belle nod at me and bid goodbye. Pagtingin ko sa orasan ko ay pasado alas dos na pala ng hapon. I grab my phone and dial Tavin's number on the third ring he answered my call.

"Hey beautiful... Have you eaten yet?" Pagbubungad sa akin ni Tavin, I smiled and answered his question.

"Hmm I should be the one asking you that question mister. Have you eaten yet?" I heard him laugh on the other line.

"Of course Ms. Bautista I asked for a food delivery."

"Oh no... Fast food again?" I asked him.

"Well my chef is not around that's why I've decided to call for a fastfood."

"Hmmm... What will happen to you if I'm not around? You should know how to cook for yours-" hindi ko na natapos ang sasabihin ko ng bigla syang magsalita.

"Then stay." Isang nakakabinging katahimikan ang bumalot sa amin ni Tavin. I don't know kung anong dapat kong maging reaksyon sa sinabi nya ng bigla na naman syang magsalita.

"I'm kidding... Mi amour take some break and grab some food don't starve yourself aright? So see you later. bye." Then he ended our conversation. Kahit na sinabi nya na iyon ay isang malaking joke ay di ko pa rin alam kung ano ba ang dapat kong ireact sa kanya. He already know the truth and yet he's making it difficult for us. Alam kong ako ang nagsama sa kanya sa sitwasyon na ito pero maliwanag sa aming dalawa ang lahat.

Nagpaalam muna ako sa mga empleyado ko na kakain lang muna ako sa labas. I was walking in the pavement when I saw a library cafe kaya agad akong pumasok doon. Siguro kailangan lang ng caffeine ang sistema ko. I fall in line and wait for my turn.

Pagkatapos kong makapagorder ay naghanap ako ng mauupuan kaya nga lang puno na ang loob ng cafe kaya no choice ako kung hindi sa labas nalang pumuwesto. Sakto namang nahagip ng mata ko ang isang babae na nagbabasa ng libro. Ayoko mang lapitan sya pero un nalang ang may bakanteng upuan since nakapwesto sya sa pang-dalawahan. I make my way to her table.

"Hi Charlotte." Pagbati ko sa kanya, nag-angat sya ng tingin sa akin at ngumiti ng pagkalapad lapad.

"Hi Fatima!" she kissed me cheeks to cheeks.

"Have a seat." Pag-aaya nya sa akin, I just nod at her and seat across the table.

"Oh my mukhang napapadalas na talaga ang pagkikita natin this past few days.." Pagsisimula nya sa conversation namin. I know it's kinda awkward dahil di maganda ang naging simula namin. At mukhang napansin nya ata ang pagka-ilang ko sa kanya kaya nawala ang ngiti sa mga labi nya she heaved a deep breath.

"I'm sorry." Napatitig ako kay Charlotte at hindi naka-imik sa mga sinabi nya.

"I've been a bitch to you before and I'm very sorry about that... Mahal na mahal ko si Vinn bago ka pa nya nakilala... Akala ko sa pagbabalik ko sa buhay nya e matututunan nya akong mahalin pero nagkamali pala ako... Kasi yung babaeng pangarap na nya noon pa man e kasama na nya... Nahuli na pala ako ng pagbalik. I'm sorry for ruining your relationship. Sana hindi pa huli ang lahat sa inyo ni Vinn kahit sana maging magkaibigan lang kayo. I know you're happy with Tavin pero sana pakinggan mo rin ang rason ni  Vinn." I hold Charlotte's right hand and smile.

"Your sorry is enough... Siguro nga masyado mo lang minahal si Vinn kaya mo nagawa iyon and besides nandyan na si Lorenz your angel. Alam kong masaya na si Vinn kasama ang anak nya hindi man kayo magkasama as one family alam kong kuntento na si Vinn sa kung anong meron sya ngayon." I smiled at her pero hindi ko mabasa ang reaksyon ni Charlotte. Nakakunot-noo syang nakatingin sa akin na may pilit na ngiti sa mga labi.

"Yea-yea... Fatima can I ask you something?" I nod at her

"Alam mo na ba ang lahat ng nangyari sa loob ng dalawang taon??" Still confused ay sinagot ko nalang sya.

"Well hindi ko alam ang lahat lahat but one thing is for sure may kanya-kanya na tayong buhay and I know kung ano man ang meron tayo ngayon ay enough na for our future."  Then I smile at her widely.

"You don't want to know the real story??" Agad akong napatitig kay Charlotte ng biglang magring ang phone nya she answered it and then ended their conversation.

"Oh well I better go nag-aantay na kasi si Lorenz sa akin di kasi sya masundo ng daddy nya. Anyways we need to talk about Mark and Tavin." Agad namang tumayo si Charlotte pero bago sya makaalis ay may sinabi sya sa akin.

"Oo nga pala if you really want to know the truth you should talk to Vinn. Have a safe trip on saturday! And see you again soon!" And she waved her hand.

I am left dumfounded but with a light feeling dahil narin sa pag-aayos namin ni Charlotte.

I finished my meal at bumalik na ulit sa bakeshop napansin ko naman agad ang isang tao na nakaupo sa opisina ko.

He's wearing sunglasses to cover the bruises around his eyes.

"Tavin what are you doing here? I told you to stay at home right?" He then stand up and smiled at me.

"I'm here to ask you something." Seriousness is visible on his face.

"What is it?" He then heave a deep breath before answering my question.

"Mark wants to see me... Tonight." I walk towards his direction and lead him to seat down.

"You should go." I told him while holding his hand.

"But I don't think that I can hold on my temper. I might punch him on his face again." I laughed at him and he just gave a straight face. I cleared my throat before answering him seriously.

"Ehem.. Well.. I think you should talk to him regarding your issues. Don't you think that it is the right time to forgive?" He heave a deep breath.

"I know... but whenever I see his face all I can remember are those memories where they destroyed our family." I hold his left hand and looked directly in his eyes.

"Remember this... Everything happens for a reason.. Look at the bright side... When your mother moved to Paris she became one of the professional designer of branded clothes. As what your mother always told me that was her dream eversince. You can't see the regret on her eyes. She's happy and contented and for you..." I pinched his nose.

"You found your true love in baking." He put his left hand on my cheeks and speak.

"Unfortunately... I can't have my true love." I smiled at him.

"There will always be a new love." He then stand up and put his hand on his pocket and turn around to face me.

"Maybe you're right... I must hear his side. Thank you and See you later." He then bid goodbye as I watch him make his way out it made me think of my current situation. Is this the right time to finally let go of this feeling? Should I finally search for the answer of my unanswered question?
