" Hey Alex," said a voice from behind me. I turned around. Ben. I smiled mischievously.

" Back again? You just can't get enough of me, can you?" I asked.

" I'll never get enough of you. And neither will anyone else," said Ben with a smirk.

" You're asking for it now" I said with a grin.

" Oh, I'm begging for it! Are you going to give it to me, or are you scared?" Ben asked. I narrowed my eyes, but kept up my smirk.

" Scared of you? Please!" I said, smiling wider. It probably wouldn've gone on like that for another twenty minutes until we'd run out of witty banter, but thankfully, Gwen interfered.

" Just ask her already!" She screamed from across the courtyard. Ben smiled gratful at his cousin.

" Do you...wanna go out with me?" He asked shyly. I grinned.

" About time doofus. I was wondering what was taking so long," I said. I reached over and pulled him closer to me face. Surprisingly, he kissed me before I could. This was a dream come true. But I couldn't give him the satisfaction of telling him that, could I?

" Uh...," said Ben as he looked at me. I could feel my cheeks heating up like crazy.

" Um...," I said. I curled a loose strand of hair in my fingers. I do that when I'm nervous. It's a really bad habit.

" Woo-hoo!" Gwen yelled from across the courtyard, pumping her fist. Kevin glared at her while she did a victory twirl. When he growled at her, she twirled super close to him and her red hair smacked him across the face.

" Hey!" He yelled at her. I glanced back at Ben, the sounds of the conversation dimming in my head. I laughed with Ben.

" Wow, they are perfect for each other," I said with a bright grin.

" Yep. Gwen keeps Kevin in line, while being perfectly nice, and while caring for him at the same time. He won't get that from any other girl in the world," said Ben, shaking his head. My smile changed to something of a clever smirk.

" Wanna bet? I could do all of that, if you had reins as loose as Kevin. But you're you, and that's what I like about this," I said, lacing my fingers inbetween his. He smiled at me.

" Well, are you going to become an official princess or what?" He asked.

***************

" Unless there are any objections, I now pronounce Divina Arcadia Kendra: Princess--and the queen-to-be--of the Kendrian royal bloodline," said the Queen. She held up a glowing and glittering crown of energy above my head. I made a face.

The Queen was about to place it on my head, but I stopped her. I wasn't going to wear a crown that didn't represent me. It was Anodyne tradition to pick out the crown, and since I didn't pick mine out earlier, I had to wear the Queen's--which I was fine with until now.

" Wait. I'm the princess now right? The crown should be a reflection of me. I'm half human. And humans use metal crowns." I pressed my hand to it and spoke magic words.

" Converte coronam in cogitatione animae meae" I whispered to it. The crown started to glow. It flashed in a bunch of colors. They where--as I had said--the colors that where in my soul.

Galexy purple, yellow-gold, brilliant green, shimmering silver--and the smallest bit of blood-red and blackish-purple at the very center of the orb, for my usage of dark magic.
The crown changed spectacularly inside the orb.

Silver and metal formed around the energy and twisted into a new shape. It was dark gold at the bottom and became silver the more it went up. Multicolored crystals formed out of thin air and attached to the tiny spaces carved out for them.
