" So, who are we recruiting exactly?" I asked Alex. She twisted into a flying backflip from the rafters of the gymnasium, which the space ship somehow had inside it.
She did several more incredible flips and twists kicks that I could never pull off in midair before sticking the landing. And by sticking the landing, I mean she litterally landed on a stick.
Or at least what looked like a stick. I just know it was a very tiny, very skinny platform, and that she landed on it with only one foot. She walked past me and grabbed her galaxy pattern water bottle.
But she didn't drink from it. She squirted it out and stopped it before it landed on the ground. She twirled it inbetween her fingers and around her arms like a bracelet. It probably wasn't practice. More likely it was something to figit with while she talked to me. Her mind was probably going a million miles faster then mine.
" I'm not sure. Either Jake or Johnny, I haven't decided yet. Probably both. But my big plan involves you, Ben, me, and someone else with superpowers to defeat this girl. We're heading to New York now to deal with a daughter of Nyx." I looked at Alex, blushing the tiniest bit. Alex looked away. She probably knew exactly what I was thinking.
" So, um, if you're Sam, and she's you, then everything I did with her, and all the things that happened...," I started. Alex blushed.
" Uh...yeah...pretty much. Are you...okay with it?"
" I mean, the idea that you're the orginal of six different girls who are exact copies of you, except with a specific core personality trait enhanced is little unnerving."
" The thing is, when I looked at you after you were born, and I saw what you're future would be, and the things you would do in you're universe. And I fell in love with you.
Or rather, the person you would become. But I had to choose between you and Ben. So I inserted the beauty and personality of Sam Manson into your life, someone you would like just as much as if I had grown up with you, only more attuned to you." I felt my cheeks lit up like a Christmas tree.
" I don't like Sam, not like that anyway...." I started unconvincingly.
" Please, you're even worse then Ben Ripley!"
" Huh?"
" Never mind. Anyway, Sam wouldn't have met you if it wasn't for me. But at the same time, you wouldn't have had crazy parents without me. In order for you to become a half-ghost, I had to pull a few strings of destiny if you know what I mean."
" Well, on the plus side, the idea that I'm technically dating six smart, cool, beautiful girls is a major bonus," I said with a big grin. Alex rolled her eyes with a smirk plastered on her face.
" Ha, ha, so funny," said Alex. I quickly changed the subject.
" I still can't believe you were able to cover for us on such short notice," I commented.
" Well, you and Jazz were the easy part. I just printed up some fake documents saying you'd all been accepted into a boarding school to learn how to fight ghosts. Nobody had no problem believing you and your sister were accepted into a school like that.
You're the children of ghost hunters for the gods' sake! Your freinds were the difficult part. Especially Tucker. His mom is absolutely insane about his saftey. It took a while to convince them, kinda hard to tell parents that their child had exceptional ability in ghost hunting without telling them that their child actully did it," said Alex exasperatly.
" So how'd you do it?"
" I told his mother that Tucker must've had some experience hunting ghosts when he was constantly hanging out with the son of two ghost hunters," she said. I crossed my arms.
