*Alex Chase*
" Do you forgive me?" I asked.
" Yeah. I know why you did it. That last battle was brutal." I gulped.
" Well, that wasn't exactly the rest of it. There was a lot more details. Like my own backstory for example."
" What else did you guys do, besides fight the Rooters and meet Ms...Ms..." Rook stopped. We looked at Alex. I had just realized. We had been so focused on our stolen memories, we had completely forgotten to ask her last name.
" Chase. Alexandra Sophia Chase. I actually go by many names, depending on which version of myself I am, and it which univer -se I'm in. Calliope, Diana, Annabeth, Sam, Rose, Claire, Juniper, Marinette, Sissy, Isabella, Kendra, Erica, Phoebe, Kelly, Celestia, Caydence,
Athena, Aphrodite–I'm not kidding, my name is actually Athena and Aphrodite in two dimensions–Tresslynn, Mirabelle, it's all the same. But their all clones of one person."
" Which are you?" Kevin asked. I smiled.
" The orginal, duh!"
" Well Ms. Chase, we would love to hear more about you're background." Rook said.
" But first...." Kevin said. The cousins looked uncomfortable. I understood why. I stepped in front of them.
" I gave them their memories back. Nobody else is allowed to even know I gave them–and everyone in the universe–a set of false memories that dates back to five years ago, much less know what really happened when Ben was eleven. That was the deal.
If they tell anyone else, I have to take them back. So don't ask. And don't pressure them to tell you. First, because I'll know, and second, because they can't. They just can't."
" So, anything you can tell us?" Kevin asked. I facepalmed. This doofus really didn't get it, did he? I shouldn't be surprised. Ben always said this guy couldn't take a hint.
" Well, it's mostly about everything we're no supposed to tell you but..."
" It's super complicated." Gwen interrupted before Ben could spill the beans. I interjected.
" Look, the point is, the Rooters did keep coming after Ben, in a timeline that I technically erased from existence by erasing everyone else's memories of it. You never even wanted to take the watch off in the first place.
I had to make up some excuse for why aliens had stopped coming after you and the Omnitrix, so I erased your memory, knocked you out, took you to Azmuth to get the watch removed, then erased his memory. It was a full day before I could even get out of bed.
By then, the aliens had started their attacks. You really took the Omnitrix off about a day before you thought you had put it back on for the first time in four years," I said. Gwen looked at Ben with widened eyes.
" The day the Highbreed took out Grandpa and sent us after them," she said breathlessly.
" Exactly. The last adventure we went on together, we had accidentally given Earth away as a goldmine in Plumber Tech, especially in Bellwood. Therefore unintentionally starting the alien conspiracy against Earth, and greatly increased the one against you and those closest to you."
" You started the alien conspiracy against Earth?!" Ben yelled.
" Hey, I can't take all the credit. Technically, it was all you're fault," I said.
" Knew it." Gwen smirked.
" You were the one who bragged about Max and the Plumbers to the Highbreed commander while we were fighting them, specifically after I told you it was a bad idea." I argued. Gwen crossed her arms.
