Haru examined the angry looking bruise on his hip when they awoke. He stood there, looking completely embarrassed as she gazed at his body, only in his boxers.. His body was lean, muscular, and scarred. The longer she looked, the redder his face became. Haru took a step forward and embraced his naked body with her clothed one.
Closing her eyes, she nestled her face into the crook of his neck and breathed him in deeply. His hands slowly slipped around her waist and back, holding her close.
"Your body is so beautiful, Iruka."
He didn't respond, instead giving her body a little squeeze and moving his arm up higher to cradle her back and head. He kissed the top of her head gently.
"I love you. Thank you for caring for me."
"I love you, too."
Those words were still giving her major butterflies in her stomach. She noticed that he was uncomfortably squirming away from her. They parted and he tried to turn to the side, but not before she caught a glimpse of his throbbing erection through his boxers.
She thought for a second that she might begin to panic, but the panic never came. Instead, she let out a small giggle, which made his face turn a deeper shade of red as he almost had his back to her completely.
"Sorry. I'm so sorry."
She reached out and touched his tricep, relieved that logic had won out over fear.
"It's okay; that's just what happens to guys. I get that."
His face was really a deep shade of embarrassed red now.
"T-That doesn't mean anything has to happen... or I expect something to happen... or I even want something to happen..."
She actually felt bad for him as he continued to try and save face.
"I just... I just find you so beautiful... and your touch does something to me..."
She hugged him again, this time sideways, kissing his bare shoulder.
"You didn't scare me; and you're not scaring me now. I know this is what happens when people love each other, and I'm just sorry I can't reciprocate."
"I would never expect you to. I respect and love you so deeply, I would never do anything to make you feel uncomfortable."
"Come on, into the bath. You need to get cleaned up. You're covered in caked-on blood."
She helped him in and he settled in, his elbows over the edge of the circular tub. He looked up at her with a smitten look on his face.
"I love you. I love you so much. I can't believe I finally get to tell you that."
She gazed at him lovingly as he continued.
"I wish there was some way to make up last night for you."
"I mean, there could be one way..."
His eyes lit up.
"How?"
She felt her face flush.
"I... well, I've never been kissed."
"Haru..."
"I've had men press their faces against mine roughly, and I've been bitten and slobbered on, bit I've never had a meaningful, consensual, romantic kiss-"
As she was clarifying her situation, telling it to the wall behind him because she was embarrassed, she heard the water move as Iruka got to his knees and his lips touched hers tenderly. They were soft and his breath was musky and warm. She wanted to melt into him. It was by far the most romantic gesture she had ever experienced.
