Old and New Memories

Rex POV

Anakins plan went off without a hitch. Successfully he retrieved Kallus and the entirety of their group escaped the Empire.
"Landing on this planet... It's not too different from-" (Y/n) cut Anakin off.
"Tatooine. Atleast there's more shade and less deadly wildlife." She smiled at him and he shrugged back. "Come on we have people to meet." She lead the way to me, but instead of walking calmly she sprinted at me. Leaping into my arms once she got close enough.
"Well well well... I knew a girl who looked like you once. Happen to know where she is?" I asked in a teasing voice. She chuckled then leaned up and kissed me.
"Still the same old Rex, and I am not letting go this time... Is that selfish of me?" She looked up at me.
"No, because I am not letting you go either." We heard a throat clear, and looked to who it was. "Oh right. (Y/n) this is the Pheonix Squadron. Commander Sato, Hera, Sabine, Zeb, Chopper, and of course you met those two." She nodded and waved. She approached them and held out her hand to Commander Sato. He looked at her hand then at Anakin who was still in full gear. She cleared her throat then retracted her hand.
"I understand you do not trust us, but we only want to get rid of the Empire. We've been discreetly sending you intel through your Fulcrum." She told him. She gestured to Anakin who finally decided to take off his helmet, and mask. Kallus seemed flabbergasted at how he looked.
"Close your mouth Kallus you'll catch flies." He shut his mouth and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Why do you wear that if you don't even need it?" Kallus seemed upset as he asked the question.
"Disappointed that I'm not some shriveled up old creature that can breath?" Anakin joked with him. "To the matter at hand Commander. Grand Admiral Thrawn is not far away from figuring out where your base is. We need to move... Now. Especially if you want the attack on Lothal to go according to plan." Sato looked taken aback.
"How did you know about that?" The Commander seemed tense.
"We intercepted a transmission on the Havoc Maurauder before the Empire could. We hand delivered the message to General Dodonna so there was no chance of it being intercepted again. However if we stay here any longer that attack will not happen!" (Y/n) was now annoyed, and anyone could tell. I put a hand on her shoulder, and gave her a calming look.
"For all I know the two of you are only here to draw us out of hiding. Trust is something you will need to earn here." The Commander stood his ground.
"Very well. Take head to my words. They will come and it will be soon, and there will be nothing you can do to stop them." I looked at her shocked.
"W-Wait (Y/n) you aren't staying?" The pain was evident in my voice.
"I want to, but I came to help. I can't do that when I have to earn the trust of the people I've been helping all along." She started to turn away, but I turned her around again.
"Please don't go. Please stay." I pleaded to her, and she looked back at the group.
"Fine. Only for you though Rex." She cupped my cheek and kissed me. I returned the kiss with the same intensity.
"Oh yeah that reminds me." I pulled the lightsaber off of its clip, and handed it to her. "Been carrying it with me... For extra protection, but I think it belongs with its maker." Her hand gently glided over the weapon, and they started to shake.
"I haven't held my own lightsaber in so long. I forgot how heavy it is." She looked back to me, then placed it back on my clip. "I think this saber has been with its true owner since the Siege of Mandalore." She patted my hands and turned to Anakin.
"We have alot of work to do Anakin if we want to prove our loyalty. Any ideas?" He scratched his chin in thought.
"Well I did steal the plans for Operation Stardust. We could give those to them." He pulled out a data disk. (Y/n) smiled and nodded. He handed it to Commander Sato who looked puzzled. "Trust me Commander you'll want to see what's on here. If you'll excuse me for a moment I really, really want to get out of this stupid suit." Anakin made way for the Havoc Maurauder to change clothes. "(Y/n) you can change now too you know." She smiled in relief and ran for the ship.
"Do you think we can trust whatever is on this disk Captain?" He looked to me.
"Yes. If Anakin is anxious about it then it's best that we get anxious about it too." Sato put the disk in and specs for a battle station that has never before been seen came up. "He has right to be anxious. I've never seen anything like this."
"Then we better start rallying up our forces and planning a counterattack. As my old Master used to say, "Sometimes the best defense is a quick and decisive offense."" Anakin said as he reappeared and leaned against the holotable.

~Timeskip to After Beating the Empire~

After the war ended (Y/n), Anakin, and I moved to Saleucami to start peaceful lives. Anakins son, Luke, moved with us so he could get to know his father better. Leia, Anakins daughter, visits often to spend time with us as well. (Y/n) and I wanted children, but we were both too old to raise a baby. So we adopted two boys from a nearby system who were orphans and force sensitive. Our while lives revolved around them now. I taught our sons how to use a blaster, and (Y/n) taught them to control their ability. With some help from Anakin of course. And what are we up to today? Currently my wife is making dinner, the boys are playing out back, and I am sat in our room looking through all of our old pictures.
"Oh Rexy!~" (Y/n) said in a sing song voice as I walked out of what seemed to be a bedroom.
"Yeah (Y/n/n)?" I walked into the kitchen.
"Dinner is ready. Mind getting Fives and Jesse?" She looked at me with those beautiful (e/c) eyes.
"Not at all." I walked onto the back porch to see two boys running and chasing eachother around the backyard. "Boys! It's dinnertime!" They stopped and ran towards the backdoor. "Washup before you sit down at the table. You know how it makes your mother feel when you eat while your hands are dirty." They nodded and took off to the nearest sink. I smiled to myself and rejoined (Y/n) in the kitchen. Putting out plates that held our servings of the dinner she made. I walked up behind her and pulled her against me. She turned in my grasp to look at me.
"Hmmm. Captain I do believe that you are trying to be smooth." She said in a teasing tone.
"Maybe. Maybe not." I looked into her eyes. "Why is it working?" She cupped my cheeks.
"Yes. Yes it is." She leaned up and kissed me. "I love you, Rex."
"I love you too, (Y/n)."
