What it was SUPPOSED to be
"Recon mission, but this will be with your battalion and Padawan. Can't risk sending a small detachment due to a high amount of enemies." Windu said on the holocall.
"I don't think it would be a good idea for my padawan to come. She is still kinda new in the group and I don't want to risk her getting lost on a recon mission." Skywalker spoke out to his superior. Not out of spite or dislike, but because of his uneasiness. He had lost Ahsoka and he didn't plan on losing (Y/n) either.
"It was a suggestion Skywalker. She will be going with you. It'll give her some experience. Have trust in her she is stronger than you think she is." His image disappeared leaving the four people standing around it somewhat awkwardly.
"If it'll make you feel better Master I can stay here. I understand if you don't want to be held back." Her (e/c) eyes looked into his blue ones almost unreadable.
"No no. You'll be going with us. I'm just- Rex we need a strategy." They started to walk away and (Y/n) made eye contact with Admiral Yularen.
"He still struggles with his last padawan walking out of the order. Please forgive his curtness." He turns around to return to his duties.
"Hey (Y/n) you coming?" She looked up to see Anakin standing in the doorway. She nodded quickly and joined him in his walk to the hangar. "I do trust you by the way. I am just hesitant on accepting a new padawan after my last one left."
"What was she like?" She watched as a small smile etched itself on his face.
"She was strong, brave, and fearless. Alot like you and that terrifies me, because I have a feeling we will be too much alike."
"Is that why you have refused to get to know me over the last few months?" It was true he had refused to join you and the boys of the 501st anytime you were just hanging out.
"Yes, because I have been known to be quite reckless. It's out of what I think is best for the others around me. She was the same way, and I'm scared that you will be the exact same way." He hung his head a bit. "I've lost so many to this war... I don't know how many more I can lose."
She stopped him by putting a hand on his shoulder. "Yet you still stand. You stand here as a Jedi Knight.. My Master. Probably the strongest Jedi I've encountered besides Master Yoda. You understand the value of these men. They are not objects to you. They are not just clones. They are men. You understand them and listen to them. You call them by the names they give themselves because of a certain respect you hold for them. You put yourself in danger for those you love. Where I know attachments are forbidden by the Code.. Love is inevitable and you were just lucky you got to find yours before you were bound to the Code." She looked at him timidly. "I know about Senator Amidala." She looked down a bir ashamed of knowing such information for so long.
He stood dumbfounded for a moment. "How do you know?"
"The way that your Force signature almost melds with hers when you're near eachother, and you talk in your sleep." She chuckled a little bit. He blushed and looked away.
"We need to get to the hangar."
"Yes Master." She followed behind him head hung low. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" He turned to look at her from the side.
"For not saying something sooner, but I support your point of view." They fell into silence the rest of the walk there. They walked into the hangar greeted by Rex and the 501st.
"Alright men listen up." He went into a long elaborate plan that would most likely ultimately fail. "Any questions?"
"No sir!" They answered in unison.
"Good be ready to move out in an hour." After everyone started to disperse she hung back and looked out over all the men around her. She hated to think exactly what the Kamioans showed into their heads. She had been trying her hardest to get them to show who they really were, but it never seemed enough to her. She didn't know how to make it up to men who had been made to fight a war that they didn't have anything to do with. She had been so into her own thoughts she didn't realize that someone had come up behind her.
"Sir are you alright?" Tup the one with a man bun asked her.
"I'm fine Tup." Looking away feeling a little ashamed that she was caught observing the men.
"All due respect sir you don't seem okay." Echo said as he joined the conversation perching on a nearby crate.
"I am just done losing you guys. I am not built to lose people like this. You guys aren't expendable to me, and I've come to think of you all as family. You're like my brothers." She said honestly and looked them in the eyes. She hadn't realized that the entire company was back and ready to go looking at her incredulously.
"Noone has ever really said that to us other than us. We have actually come to see you like a sister." Rex rested his hand on her shoulder for a second.~Timeskip~
Well she was right. The plan did fail, and now they were on day 3 on the planet. Trying to fight their way back to their shuttle. Currently they had it in their sights and were making headway to getting there. This planet had proven not to be the most stable. The ground continuously shifted causing it to either move up or down, and don't even get the started on the fisher vents. There was an entire army of clankers chasing them to their ride home. They couldn't take off under such heavy fire so they stopped to try and take out some of the heat.
"We're getting overrun General what do we do?" Rex shouted into his comm.
"Uhm... Let me get back to you on that." Suddenly the shooting stopped causing the young woman to step out from where she was. She motioned to Anakin not to give away his position. Suddenly a holocall from Count Dooku appeared.
"Commander (L/n)... Finally on a solo mission I see. I'm surprised Skywalker took on another Padawan after his other one left." She took a few steps forwards.
"I think you'll find that my Master is full of surprises Count." She walked a little bit closer to the image of the Count. "So what brings you out here huh?" She checks her nails and returns her hand to clutch the other one behind her back.
"Well this planet was a trap to lure in Skywalker or Kenobi which is why I'm surprised to see only you. I hate to say it, but you and your men have seen too much... You will all have to die."
She glared at his image. "Not if I have anything to say about it. You will NOT touch them!" She noticed the detachment of Droids and herself were standing on an unstable part of the planet. It looked like just the right push would cause it to shift below where her men and her Master were. She turned on her commlink. "I'm sorry Master. I'm sorry boys but this is goodbye for now." She used everything she had left to force the planets surface to shift so that where she was could fall in. She collapses to her knees from exhaustion.
"Well well. Resourceful Padawan aren't you? Change of plan you will be my new apprentice. Goodnight young one." His image disappeared and a Droid stepped up to where he used to be.
"Have your weapons set to stun! Fire!" She tried her best to dodge the shot but there were too many and was stunned.Captain Rex's POV
"No Ad'ika!" He tried to step towards the edge when Tup caught his shoulder. Rex turned to look at him. He simply shook his head and turned to the transport. Anakin however was standing in shock staring at the edge of the newly created chasm. Rex walked up to him and put his hand on his shoulder.
"Sir we should probably get moving." He struggled with keeping his voice regular. Anakin nodded and turned with Rex to go to the transport.(So in this one Anakin didn't have Ahsoka as a Padawan for too long)
