As always, Elodie started to get ready to go to the Weasley's for New Years. It became a family tradition at this point.Elodie had actually went out with her mom while in Germany to do a little bit of clothes shopping. Since Elodie has always found herself in the forest at Hogwarts, her clothes would keep getting dirty. So all she got were school pants and a few nice t-shirts she liked.
Elodie didn't really know what to wear. She knew it would take a while to find something, so she prepared a snack and walked into her room.
Around twenty minutes later, tons of clothes were thrown all over her bed and her floor. Elodie needed something, fast. She found a red and white dress that she'd never seen before, running it down to her mom.
"Where'd this come from?" Elodie asked. Yvannah smiled, "Oh good you found it." Elodie looked at the dress, then back to her mom. "I haven't seen this before?" Elodie questioned. "I slipped away when you were in that one store and got you a dress." Yvannah replied. Elodie smiled at her mom, knowing that secretly she didn't want to get any new clothes unless it was a dress.
Elodie came out wearing it, and it was beautiful. It hugged her body just right. She put her hair into a beautiful low bun, with a few curly strands left out. As always, she looked stunning. No words could describe how confident she felt, too.
"Elodie you look lovely!" Molly said, welcoming her into the home with a warm hug. Elodie thanked her, returning the favor and complimenting her. While she walked in, she noticed Harry was there, too.
When the Weasley's came back from Romania I guess they invited Harry."Hey, Harry!" Elodie said, walking over to him to greet him with a hug. "Hi, Elodie!" Harry replied. And of course, Ginny was the first Weasley kid to be greeted with such high pleasures.
"There she is. There's my favorite redhead!" Elodie yelled, pointing at Ginny. Ginny laughed at Elodie, and made her way towards her.
"Hands off our baby sis, El." George said, lightly pushing her out of the way and hugging Ginny. "Yeah, hands off, El." Fred said, doing the same to Ginny on her other side. Ginny pushed them both off, and they landed on the floor with a groan. Elodie laughed, and went to go sit on the couch.
"Lonely?" Both the twins asked, sitting down on either side of Elodie. "Not enough to be associated with you two." Elodie replied, smiling at both of them. "You can leave." Fred said, pointing to the door. She looked over at George and he pointed his finger to the door as well. "Okay." Elodie said, getting up and 'leaving'. She walked outside to the yard, and was very surprised. The night sky was glowing, making the sky at least 10x brighter that night. "Wow." Elodie said to herself.
The twins got up and followed her, not sure if she actually left or not. They got to the door, pushing it open. They didn't seem to walk up to her, though. The boys stopped in their footsteps when they heard her humming in such a soft tune.
Elodie looked up at the stars, and it reminded her of the enchanted ceiling she used to have. She still had it, but she never used it anymore. She was humming the song her mom used to sing to her every night. Elodie also wondered why her mom stopped.
"While you and I, dilly, dilly, keep ourselves warm." She sang. She didn't know the twins had come out yet, so she kept humming and singing. As she sung, the twins started to dance a little. Such weirdos.
Fred decided to walk up to her. So, he did. He stood next to her, and looked up at the stars like she was. "They're so pretty tonight." Elodie told him, not looking to her side to know he was there. "Yeah.." Fred said, now slightly looking at her. She turned to meet his gaze, smiling at him. "Where's Georgie?" She asked, looking around to see if he was somewhere nearby. "He's at the doo-" Fred tried, but realized George had gone back inside. "Git." Fred spat. Elodie laughed, and turned to him. "We better get inside before your mom's cookies are done." "Yeah, or we could hide from her and watch how mad she gets." Fred suggested. "Come on." Elodie said, rolling her eyes and grabbing his hand like he was a child.
"Ball!" Ron yelled, pointing to the same magical ball with numbers inside. It started shaking, meaning it would drop to 9 soon. Everyone gathered around, eating the cookies Molly had made. Elodie was dipping hers in the hot chocolate Molly also made. Elodie swore to herself that everything Molly made, was just sent straight from Heaven. Even warm milk with chocolate powder in it.
"Up for our New Years tradition?" Elodie asked, winking at Fred and nudging his arm with hers. He turned red, and nodded, smiling down at her.
This made her turn red herself. Elodie didn't expect him to reply in a serious way.And now, she was kind of scared for the ball to drop. Would this actually be their first kiss, but intentionally? All jokes aside, it could go uphill or downhill.
"10....9....8....7....6....5....4....3....2.....1!!" Everyone yelled, except for Elodie and Fred. When they yelled 1, They looked at each other. Elodie looked into his eyes, and went for it. She didn't know why, but it's like his eyes begged hers.
They heard Yvannah and George send some "Ooohs" their way, and pulled back. "Happy New Years, Freddie." Elodie said softly. "Happy New Years, Ellie." He replied.
"Alright, let's go, let's go." Molly yelled, rushing the herd of redheads to the wall between platforms 9 and 10.
Elodie shortly followed after, kissing Yvannah goodbye and what not. "Go, now! Before the barrier closes!" Molly said, rushing everyone in.
Elodie ran through the wall, the familiar surroundings clouded her vision. She went up to the man putting trunks in the compartment, and walked onto Hogwarts Express. "Gonna sit with me this time? Or leave me to the first years?" Elodie asked Fred and George. "Leave you to the first years." George replied, seeing Wood walk onto the train. Elodie rolled her eyes and put her hands out in confusion. "There's always room, with me." A familiar voice said. Elodie smiled and turned around. "HERMIONE!" Elodie yelled, hugging the smaller girl. Hermione giggled, and they walked to an empty seat on the train.
"We better get into our robes." Hermione said. Elodie nodded, and grabbed the folded clothes from the seat next to her. She stood up and walked to the bathroom.
Elodie put her robes on, and put her hair into a quick braid. She walked out, letting Hermione walk in, and went back to their spot on the train. As she waited for Hermione, Ron came up to the door. "Can Harry and I sit with you? The entire rest of the train is full." He asked, Harry walking up to his side. "Sure." Elodie laughed. Hermione came back, and hugged them. Hermione could be nice to them when she wanted to be.
"I'll see you guys at the feast." Elodie said, parting ways with the first years and heading up to the castle with the rest of her classmates.
She walked in, and smelt the familiar foods from a mile away. She ran to the Great Hall, pushing past the other students. She stopped at the entrance, and looked around. A Hufflepuff pointed to the entrance, and Imogen's head turned. She got up, running to Elodie.
"I'm home!" "You're home!"
