"Hi, honey!"

My eyes went wide as saucers as Kaitlyn locked her arms around my neck and leaned in to kiss me. Before those soft looking lips could connect with mine, I placed my palm over her mouth stopping her midway.

Her bluish grey eyes narrowed as she pushed my palm away and pouted like a two year old.

"You don't want me to kiss you?" She slurred tipsily handling her weight on me but failing miserably.

I tighten my arm around her waist, steading the girl on her footing so that she doesn't fall down.

Staring down at those mesmerizing eyes with bewilderment in my own, "Are you drunk?" I ask Kaitlyn as I scoop her up in my arms when it's apparent she isn't going to stand straight without falling.

Kaitlyn giggles putting her arms back around my neck and snuggling closer in my arms, "You're so warm. Like a teddy bear. Can I snuggle with you?"

I shake my head as a smile pulls onto my lips. If she wasn't drunk, she'd be horrified by the way she was acting now.

"Let's get you to rest first?" I tuck away the messy strands obstructing her face and take a step on the stairways leading upstairs.

Kaitlyn keeps giggling here and there all the way to the second floor. Just when I'm about to take her to her room, she snuggles closer to me like a cat and mumbles,

"I'm not drunk. Someone gave me pixie brew." She giggles tugging the buttons of my shirt, "It feels amazing to be high. I thought I could never be high. Why can't I be high, VALERIAN?!" she shrieks so loud making me look whether anyone was around.

"Valerian?" I smile despite myself, "You have no idea how bad I wanted to hear you call me that. Drunk or not. As for the getting high—" my words stop mid-way as her words sink in completely.

She's a royal. No ordinary alcohol could numb her system. Ofcourse, it was pixie brew!

The fuzzy feeling quickly replaces with dread making me pull Kaitlyn closer and look down at her in alarm as my heart raced a mile with terror. Why would someone give her pixie brew. . .

"Who gave you pixie brew?" I ask taking a quick turn from her room's door to head towards my wing.

"An attractive vampire." She sighed dreamily.

Despite the fear in my heart, I couldn't help the narrowing of my eyes as the involuntarily feeling of jealousy seeped through me.

"All the vampires are attractive. You shouldn't be affected by their beauty." I mumbled under my breath but when I heard the voice of snickering, I gave the girl questioning look.

She didn't reply. Instead continued giggling and before I could ask her what was so funny, she shifted in my arms cranning her head upwards only to place her chin on my shoulder and snuggle her face with my neck.

What is she doi—

I almost dropped her in front of my room's door due to the shock as I felt a warm kiss to the slightly exposed skin between my neck and ear through the tuxedo's high collar. When I titlted my sideways to look at the woman, she gave me a feline smile.

"Jealous are we, your highness?" She kissed my cheek before resting her head back on my shoulder, all the while I stood frozen feeling my brain go numb and my heart thud louder in my chest by her closeness.

Shaking my head at the daze, I push open my room's door, "You're drunk over your mind."

"I'm not drunk!" Kaitlyn jumped out of my arms like a spring the moment we were inside the confines of my room.
