In the past six years, a lot has changed.

Kane became the king of Vamplyre and his mate, Ryrar, became his partner at ruling the ancient vampire court. They got married a few years back and are planning to adopt a child.

Eleanor is not only a wonderful mother to Valerian, but is a supporting mother-in-law and an even great grandmother to our kids. My respect for her grows more with each passing day.

Marilla is, well, still the same cheery, playful siren queen. But in the span of six years, we'd grown close to the point where we're now best friends. For real.

Although recently, the siren is overly stressed because Dulcamara revealed that Marilla will find her mate soon. And for the life of her, Marilla does not want a mate. It's funny how the same queen who flirted around with men now avoided them as if they contained the plague.

Mellisa. . .

No one still had a clue she existed. She'd wiped all of the people's memories who'd been present during the war as Valerian had mentioned. But. . .

My heart hurts for the ultimate queen after what happened to her two years ago. She'd lost everything, everyone. She's all alone out there in the harsh world. She hadn't even visited Valerian or Marilla since that day when. . .well, it's not my story to tell.

Because I know her pain was similar or much worse than Avyanna's who'd lost all the light in her eyes ever since her mate, Julian's death. All I could hope for was both of them to find happiness.

My twin brother. . .

Six years of searching and tracking and we still couldn't find him. After Narcissa being sentenced to a life-time confinement in the dungeons, the urge to meet a blood family grew stronger. A family member who wouldn't want Val or me dead. Only if I knew that this wish of mine to meet my brother was going to come true very soon. . . .

Coming to Leader. . .

Victor still rules over the assassins with Dante now as his second in command. But now the whole creed is a part of the royal court of Raveria. They're now the royal assassins. People don't know them personally or haven't seen the assassins' faces ever, yet they're respected tremendously for extending their help during the war when many soldiers from their kingdom's own armies had deceived unceremoniously.

Victor and Valerian had a heart-to-heart about Katherine where I'd tried my best to contain my jealousy whenever Val mentioned how Katherine was a 'close' friend.

But when Valerian had revealed to Victor that for him, Katherine was a very good friend and nothing else. And how that day when the rumours began, Katherine had confessed her feelings for Valerian. He had politely told her how he couldn't ever reciprocate her feelings because he was waiting for his mate. Katherine understood but apparently, she wanted to kiss him once before going back to pretending she had no feelings for him. Valerian had agreed out of his guilt but then just before they could kiss, he'd stopped her because he just couldn't do it.

Basically, they never kissed. But for an onlooker or more specifically a spy, it would've looked like it by how close their faces were. Victor had been shocked at this news but then he'd sorely regretted his actions until now. Afterall, despite all the other reasons, I knew deep down his greatest pain and cause to end Valerian was due to loosing his daughter.

There at that very moment, Victor swore to protect Valerian and his family with a blood oath for penance for all bad he'd done against him. And Valerian had given Leader the honour and respect he truly deserved by making him and his creed a part of the royal court.
