You will never know,
Those highway nights.
The engines purring as,
We flashed by the lights.
Chased by the moon we rode,
Ducking through the clouds.
The stars they cheered for this race,
Under the moonlight. You will never know,
Those pallid sights.
Of seas so calm they slept,
As did we by those tides swept.
For we lived at last,
Living before dawn.
Before the rays came to take us,
Take us back along. You will never know,
True bliss in blight,
Until night falls that is,
Until moonlight.
