How long is forever?
How long will it be?
Till the last croissant flies off the shelf,
Till the last jelly bean?
How long will it take,
For the pastries, all to be ate?
How long till the shutters shutter,
These empty pantry plates?
How long will it be,
How long will it last,
Till all are out and doors are shut,
And inside I am last.
How long will I see,
The open sign before me,
The smell of buttered crumpets,
Chocolate truffles,
And steaming jasmine tea?
