I stood back and bit my tongue listening to Armin and Bertholdt yell at each other. Before I knew it, Mikasa was gone from beside me. She had had enough of the bullshit he was spouting as well. I saw her take a swipe at Bertholdt, and he deflected it. She managed to cut part of his ear off though. Bertholdt started charging at Armin and I flew over ready to decapitate his sorry ass. Mikasa threw a sword at him like I saw Levi do to Kenny. I was impressed, to say the least. I knew they were related, but I had a bias towards Levi. Obviously. I ran at Bertholdt and got a swipe in. He flew off and Mikasa grabbed both me and Armin to keep us from running after him. She made a good point about the explosion of his transformation. Armin started to formulate a plan, but I saw what he was doing only too late. "EVERYBODY GET DOWN!" Armin, Mikasa, and I hid behind a house while the others did whatever they could to keep from being blown away. The light was almost blinding and whatever I did to lock my emotions down, almost let loose. Hange was close by. I somehow kept it cool as I clung to the wall of the house. I couldn't lose my best friend, not again. I clutched the stone of the wall as hard as I could, not even to avoid being blown away, but to somehow keep my emotions at bay. A stray tear escaped, but my chest hurt like it was ready to burst from the amount of worry and hate I had swelled up inside. Mikasa, Armin, and I went back to Eren, Jean, Connie, and Sasha. Of our squad, we were all fine thankfully, but I just felt dead other than this hurt in my chest. Armin told Jean where Hange's squad was and I clenched my jaw. I wanted to yell at him to shut up, that Hange was fine, but I had to consider the possibility. I felt Mikasa put a hand on my shoulder. I stared at my feet probably dead-eyed. I hoped so badly that Hange was fine. That Moblit was fine. That the whole squad was fine, but my worries mainly laid with Hange.
The squad was in a panic about what to do. Armin said we should regroup with the commander as previously planned if things went wrong, but Jean made some good points about how we needed to go after Bertholdt. If we didn't, everyone else would be in danger with the flaming debris he was throwing. Armin agreed and talked about how we needed to defeat the colossal titan right here, right now. If I hadn't been so focused, I would have laughed at Connie's humor-coping mechanism. The joke was definitely funny but now was not the time. Jean had Sasha smack Connie on the head to get him to shut up with his on-the-edge-of-a-breakdown hysterical laughter and I took a deep breath trying to regulate the cacophony of emotions I felt within my chest and head. I once again steeled myself waiting for Armin's orders. Armin was in charge and he was frozen. He was smart, but the trauma of watching this unfold, I can only imagine what that did to him, or really any of us if we got out of there alive. We'd all have to kill Bertholdt. We were the last line of defense, the seven of us. Jean was appointed the new leader by Armin who was insecure about his decisions and the ability to make them. Jean pointed out that he would only lead until Armin got his shit together and we all hopped on the S.S. Eren as transportation to conserve our gas.

Levi's POV:
I put on a brave face for Dirk and the others, but I was terrified. I hoped four eyes and (Y/n) were okay. The blast was huge and I didn't even know what to do. My orders were to stay to fight the beast titan if given the chance, but the big bastard also seemed set on staying out of the fight as much as possible. I wanted to check on (Y/n) so badly. Just as I started to consider going against orders, that shithead beast titan threw rock shrapnel. Erwin gave the orders for people to hide. "DAMMIT! GET DOWN!" The blood sprayed everywhere from those on the front lines. I got to the rookies in charge of the horses. "The titan is throwing boulders! MOVE NOW! Take the horses and retreat to the wall!" More shrapnel from the boulders came flying. "MOVE! STAY OUT OF THE LINE OF FIRE!" A rookie fell down to his knees screaming. I grabbed the back of his hood, "YOU WANNA DIE?! GET UP!" Erwin landed down near me and informed me of how bad the front line of our defense was. Everything would be leveled if the rocks kept coming. I asked about the other side of the wall and was informed of the colossal titan setting everything in its path ablaze. I clenched my swords, "What happened to Hange's group? Is Eren alright?" Erwin looked serious. "I don't know." My chest hurt. Could (Y/n) be...? "Most of them are gone, caught up in the explosion when it occurred. We've sustained a great many casualties." Erwin's eyes looked dead as he explained more. Something in me couldn't believe that (Y/n) and/or Hange would take this shit lying down. They had to be out there somewhere. Erwin caused the recruits to panic by stating the facts, "In other words, our remaining forces on this side of the gate consist of you new scout recruits, Captain Levi, and me. No others." "So what now? Do you have any kind of plan?" As Erwin looked deep in thought, we heard a titan scream. Eren?
