I sat down in disbelief at what Hange told me. "There's Titans... in... the walls..." I would have never been able to predict that. Damn, Isayama. "How did you find out?" Hange's glasses got that dark serious look on them and they glistened. "When the female titan was climbing the wall, she managed to knock a hole in the wall. When you and Mikasa cut her down from the knuckles, her fingers were still punctured into the wall..." Hange ran around the room and scratched her head as she ran around grabbing books off of shelves. I stood there wondering what to do. "Hange, is there a reason I'm here? I don't really know if I can do anything to help you?" Hange looked at me and sighed. "I heard about your powers 'fading'. I don't think I can help get them back, but I figured you might be able to help me piece things together. You are really the only one who seems to know what I am talking about when I explain the scientific stuff about the Titans." I sighed. It was true, I had read the Attack on Titan encyclopedia where it explains lots of things about the Titans before I was brought to this world the first time. I ruffed up my hair a bit and looked Hange in the eyes before nodding. I began to look through the books throughout the library for any reference to Titan skin in the history of making the walls. I searched and searched and barely found anything. We needed answers and soon. The fate of humanity within this world rested on our shoulders. I sighed and continued turning pages upon pages, forgetting we had to leave soon. There had to be an answer somewhere. "Hange. Get moving." "And our guest?" "He's been ready to go for a while."
I closed the book I was skimming through and looked at Hange. She sat down and sighed. "Our guest... is a priest. He's from one of the cults that worship the wall... When I saw the titan's face within the wall... He accidentally mentioned some things. I took him to the top of the wall and... he wouldn't talk even after some very serious threats. I thought about going through with torture or killing him, but I figured I might still get something out of him and the crazy man was okay with dying, so I figured maybe Levi or someone else would have some ideas on how to get the answers out of him." She laughed a little crazily, "I can definitely tell the son of a bitch is scared of me now though." I raised an eyebrow, "What did you do?" Hange smiled deviously, "Oh nothing bad. Okay maybe... just maybe, I attempted to throw him off the top of the wall." "HANGE!" "Don't yell at me, I had to try and get the answers out of him somehow!" "Hange, good god... the guy might have had a heart attack!" Hange rolled her eyes and waved me off, "Please, he would have been fine. I wouldn't have actually let him fall or anything. Well, I wouldn't have let him hit the ground anyway." I sighed and facepalmed. She was crazy, but she was also right and I trusted her. Levi walked over to me and looked me in the eyes and I sighed because of the realization of us needing to leave now. "Let's get going Hange." She started to clean up and grabbed a few books about the history of the walls. I walked out of the room and Levi followed after me. I knew why Hange did it, but it still felt wrong.
I just walked slowly down the hall until Levi took my hand and I turned to look at him. "You know we do whatever is necessary." I nodded, "Yeah I know, I just gotta get used to it." I weakly smiled and Levi squeezed my hand. "Why do you still look upset?" I took a deep breath, "Just wondering what would have happened to me if you wouldn't have believed me about not being the female titan." "Don't think about that. We have a lot more on our plate now. And nothing is going to happen to you. Annie proved your innocence." "If you had not believed me, I could be dead right now or being threatened." Levi rolled his eyes, "Did you ever have any doubts that I wouldn't believe you?" "Well, you acted pretty cold to me at first after I was locked up." Levi rubbed the back of his neck, "Yeah, but something told me you were innocent. And here we are now." I sighed, staring down at my feet. Levi lifted my chin up so my eyes would meet his. "Don't think about what could have happened. You're here now and free. That piece of shit is nothing like you. He knew about the walls but didn't say anything to anyone. Any information from him could have saved a lot of people in the past, but we can't change it. We can't have regrets. We need to act on what we feel is right and that son of a bitch did nothing to help after all these years..." I tried looking away but he pulled my chin back, "YOU on the other hand... YOU spoke up whenever you knew something and that is why I believed you and why I trust you. There are no secrets with you. That's why I love you. Very much." I smiled and teared up a little and laughed, "I hate crying, it makes me feel weak compared to others." Levi smiled, "But you're not, you are stronger than you think and know. That brings me to this... I'm sorry that I acted the way I did during that titan bitch's rampage through the city." I smiled and kissed Levi.
