I stomped into the commander's office. "(Y/N)? Is everything okay?" I took a deep breath and walked over to Erwin's desk calmly. "Sir, I don't think that I am ready to become a part of squad Levi." Erwin looked confused, "weren't you excited to be training with them not too long ago? Why would you change your mind? Also, it's not official you'd be in Levi's squad, I have yet to approve it." "I see. I uh, just-" Levi walked in looking pissed. "You are dismissed (Y/N)." I scoffed and walked out. I ran to the armory and grabbed Petra from hanging out with the squad. "Let's get this lesson done..." Petra tried getting me to talk as we soared through the sky with our 3DMGs but I just wasn't in the mood. When we practiced taking down the Titan wood plank things, we eventually sat on a tree branch and I filled her in on what all happened after I left her room...

Levi's P.O.V.:

"Levi, what are you doing? You can't be harassing her." I paced in Erwin's office. "Why not? She ran away! She needed to be disciplined! Look. All I did was tell her to report back to the base." I stood still and looked Erwin in the eyes. "I'm not lying. She ran away I went after her, end of the goddamn story." Erwin gave me a knowing look as I leaned against the wall in defeat. "Levi. Everyone can tell there's something between you both. I'm fine with it, but if it's going to cause problems, then I can't allow it." Erwin sighed and got up from his desk and walked over to me. "Look, I know what you're doing and why you do it, but you can't keep doing this to people. If you want to be close to her, do it. Yes, things could go wrong, but she's resourceful, smart, and many more things. She's shown that to us. Trust her if you feel like you can. I know you don't do that often, but you need to figure something out to resolve the situation." Erwin sat back down in his chair at his desk and started scribbling on his papers again. I sighed, groaned, and walked out of his office because I knew he was right that I had to fix this situation somehow. Be that as breaking off whatever we were completely or continuing what we had going. A good captain would probably break it off. Not compromise the squad or any missions with emotions and feelings. "Dammit, that bitch has me wrapped around her fingers." I ran my hand through my hair. "Fuck!" I punched the wall. "Oh good, you're still here. I'm approving both new additions to your squad." I looked at Erwin dumbfounded. "Both?" Erwin rolled his eyes, "Jaeger and (Y/N)." I sighed, Shit I forgot about that brat... "Yeah. Okay." With that, I just walked away to try and round up my squad.

I found Jaeger and Eld first. I found everyone eventually except Petra and (Y/N). "Have any of you seen-" "Yahooooooo!" I looked out in the distance to see (Y/N) and Petra doing dumb tricks with their gear. I wanted to smile at seeing both of them happy. Petra I considered a friend and something about (Y/N) from the moment we met, I could tell she'd been through a lot, so seeing her having fun and being happy...

Your P.O.V.:

I was laughing and landed on the ground with grace. "You did well with the gear (Y/N)! I'm so proud." Petra started to laugh and she hugged me as I hugged her back, smiling until I saw Levi staring at Petra and me. He turned away but not before slightly smiling at me. "Uh, Petra? What the hell did I just witness?" I turned to her and she had a stupid grin on her face. It really reminded me of a look Hange would have on her face. "He smiled at you. Maybe he's changed his mind about the whole protecting the ones I love by pushing them away bullshit." I scoffed, "Yeah. sure." I started to walk back to my room. "HEY HEY! Where do you think you're going?" "To my room. To rest..." Petra laughed sarcastically, "HAHAHA funny. No, you are going to come to dinner with the rest of the squad and you two are going to make up." "Petra, why should I? He's the one who thinks pushing me away and bottling up his feelings is safe and won't affect his mental health." Petra looked shocked, "Feelings? Are you admitting you like him?" I glared at her, "That is not what I said. Even if I did I can't be with someone emotionally unavailable. Plus, would it really be good to have the Captain of the scouts and the leader of a squad with someone in said squad? That could compromise a mission couldn't it?" Petra looked at me with a look like she didn't believe me. She then giggled and put her hand on my shoulder. "You know even just for a day that you two not getting along is killing you. I can tell. We haven't known each other long and I may not have known the captain my whole life, but when I'm around certain people constantly... I pick up on things." I started to interject but she cut me off. "(Y/n), please. You basically love him." She started laughing and I grabbed her earlobe.

"You done being stupid yet?" "OWOWOWOWOW!!! IF YOU PROMISE TO MAKE UP I'LL BE QUIET." "Deal." I let go of her ear. "Damn... I think Levi is rubbing off on you. Geez..." I rolled my eyes and started walking to the mess hall. Eren wasn't at dinner, he was asleep in his shackles in the basement after going through some of Hanji's tests today. The table was really quiet... It was really awkward. My anxiety started bubbling up in me and I had to abruptly leave the table. "Excuse me guys, I'm not feeling well." I ran up to my quarters and closed the door behind me. I slid down the door and cried as I pulled my knees to my chest. I missed my mom... My best friend... I missed my little sister. One of those I couldn't ever get back... The others I didn't know how to get to and- "You okay in there?" "Levi?" I wiped my nose and tears and whispered through the door. "Go away, Levi. I can handle this myself." I heard a half-hearted chuckle and then, "Open the door (L/n). You once told me you'd be there for me if I need it. Well, I need you to let me be there for you." I laughed a little. "You bastard, using my own words against me." I got up and opened the door and walked over to my bed. "Are you... okay?" I chuckled and shook my head. Levi smiled at me and closed the door behind him and walked over to my bed and sat down. "Sorry, I'm not the best at making sure people are okay." I sniffled and smiled at him, "I can tell. The only speeches I've seen you do to make people feel better is right before they die." Levi chuckled, "You and your psycho tendencies" I smiled "Yeah..."

I spaced out and when I came back to reality, Levi was staring at me. He was very close. "I-I'm sorry... there's no excuse for my shitty behavior." I smiled and took his chin in my hand, forcing Levi to look me in the eyes. "Just. Don't. Ever. Do. That. Again." Levi smiled slightly and chuckled. "I promise." I moved my hand from his chin and laughed, then I got serious. "Levi?" He had laid down on my bed and sat up smiling until he saw my face. "what?" I took a deep breath. "Should we talk about the thing we neglected to talk about the other night?" Levi looked confused and I cleared my throat. "The rumors?" Levi looked conflicted like he didn't want to talk about it, but he felt like he had to. "It's fine if you don't want to talk about it right n- mmm" A minute passed, "does that answer how I feel about you?" "Y-you kissed me. Are you sure-" Levi smirked, "I don't know about a lot of things, but I know what I want." I instantly started to second-guess everything. The anxiety was back "Wouldn't it be inappropriate for us to be together?" Levi chuckled again, "Erwin said as long as it doesn't affect our work-" I smiled and he stopped talking. I looked away and sighed. "Let's just..." "Take it slow?" I smiled at Levi, "Exactly. I just got out of a relationship and... I do know how I feel, but I just need time." Levi smiled and stood up and kissed me on my forehead. "Goodnight (Y/n)." I smiled and laid on my bed, "Night Captain." The last thing I saw before I drifted off to sleep was Levi turning out my oil lamp and closing my door.
