I listened as the group talked amongst themselves. I just kept quiet. I saw Levi was doing the same as me, but my reasons for keeping quiet were probably way different than his. After the comment Oluo made, I felt a lot less confident than normal. I mean yeah sure, I felt awesome about Levi even acknowledging me, but at the same time, I was wondering if he just said that to maybe make me feel better or to keep Oluo from complaining about me any further. 'I guess I'll never know.' was all I could think. I saw Petra was now speaking to Levi as if his presence was just a normal person's. I felt rather small when in Levi's presence, not in a literal sense, since once again, I'm taller than him, but his presence was that of a very commanding leader since he was. All I could figure was that I was maybe feeling a little insecure. I had a tendency of worrying about what impressions I might have made on other people, let alone, the captain.

When we all finally got to the briefing room, I finally got to meet Erwin. Hange was also there because she was a scientist, not to mention a section commander. I tried to stay unnoticed towards the back, but near Petra so if she wanted, then she could talk to me. I listened to what Erwin said about a cadet with titan-shifting abilities. I thought 'Nothing new. I know what's gonna happen next.' Then I decided to open up a bit when Erwin decided to ask me about my thoughts, as a new cadet, on the titan shifter. "Well, I have a feeling that he doesn't really know how he transforms... it just happens. How he's locked up I understand he's probably scared, wondering why this happened. I also think Eren may feel conflicted because of a possible personal vendetta, and his abilities may make him feel a little lost." Erwin looked at me in disbelief "I didn't mention the cadet's name yet..." I realized the mistake I had made. Petra looked at me as everyone else in the room did as well, "(Y/n), how did you know his name, even before us?"

I couldn't come up with an answer. Normally I was really good at coming up with an excuse for Wade when he was actually sober and for teachers when I forgot to do my homework. I had it down pat. With the squad, Hange, and Erwin looking at me, waiting for an answer, for some reason I just couldn't formulate a story that was good enough since I knew classified information. I decided to just go with the best excuse I could come up with. "I can be a little psychic from time to time. I have visions and I guess one of those times is now." This caused Levi to remain stone-faced with his arms crossed, while everyone else looked like they had questions. It also caused Hange to run up in front of my face and poke my forehead in different areas.

Oluo decided to test me though. He asked me what would happen when we all go to the capital for the trial. I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. "Eren will tell Erwin and Levi when they meet him that he and I quote 'wants to slaughter every titan that crosses his path' and at the end of the trial, Levi will ask Eren if he resents him now, to which Eren will say he understands why he did what he did." I smirked as Oluo then asked, "what did the captain do?" I looked at Levi and smirked even more "I'd be giving away the surprise if I told you. It's definitely something shocking to see in a courtroom during a trial. In all honesty, it scared me a little bit the first time I saw it." By now most of them bought the story, except for maybe Levi, he looked skeptical still. That or maybe he did buy it and just wasn't showing it. He was a tough nut to crack. I vowed I'd get to see some kind of emotion on his face last longer than a second.

Everyone went back to the briefing and I whispered with Petra every once in a while when she'd get slightly bored. I was happy I came to the briefing for the experience. As I was walking back to my room, I asked Petra what was on the agenda for tomorrow considering it was nighttime already and I wasn't sure what time to get up. "I'm thinking we'll see how well you can handle hand-to-hand combat and maybe work on balance tomorrow. As for getting up, that's up to you. It depends on how much you want to put yourself through." She started to walk away but stopped suddenly. "Oh. By the way, a quick warning, Levi told me he'll be checking in on your training from a distance to see whether he should put you in the squad or not for when you become a scout." I smiled at the thought of Levi even considering putting me in the squad. I knew I was going to have to majorly prove myself and work hard. Petra then said something that caught my attention, "In two days we're going to the capital to go to the trial. You technically don't have to come, but I think you might want to witness what you predicted." I smiled until I thought of Levi beating the shit out of Eren and my smile faded a bit. Though it was impressive to see how strong Levi could be, it still was really scary the first time I saw it. I never thought he'd beat the shit out of Eren and yet he did and to say the least, I was really fucking surprised. "I'll come 'cause otherwise I'll probably be bored without you guys here."

I talked about some nonsense with Petra in her room while sitting on the floor, the both of us, not tired. I was laughing at a story Petra told about Oluo, something I could use against him in the future. That's when Levi came in saying that for one, we were both being really loud and woke up some of the other scouts, and for two, that around noon was when Erwin and him were going to the capital to meet Eren and in a sense, interrogate him. "Speaking of the kid, did you want to come? You're the one that supposedly knows what's going to happen." I smiled after seeing a slight smirk spread on Levi's face when he got to the 'psychic' part. I honestly thought the lie was ridiculous and knew that at some point, I'd have to tell everyone how I thought I got there and how I knew specific things that were going to happen. "Thanks, Captain, but I have to do some training with Petra. I'd love to be filled in on what happens when you and Erwin get back though." I had a genuine smile on my face. The first one in a while and I was loving it here so far, despite only being one day.  I knew I'd left a relatively good impression on everyone.

"I'll admit, not the answer I was expecting from a cadet." This made me wonder, 'What was he expecting?' Petra then cleared her throat. "Ahem, (Y/n)? There's this thing called, train in the morning, go interrogate in the evening. If you want to go, all you have to do is ask. I mean I'm pretty sure we don't need to work on balance unless we find out later that you aren't the best with the 3DMG, which I'm sure you'll do great at." Petra was like one of those nice, awesome teachers only to me, she felt like a favorite teacher and a big sister. "Thanks, Petra, I guess I'll go with you and the commander then," Levi smirked real quick and turned on his heel. "Okay, good. I'll tell Erwin. Now both of you, get to bed." I chuckled with Petra as Levi left since he sounded like a dad. I started to get comfy in the Attack on Titan world, and I sincerely wanted to help it, be it fictional or not, which is something I hadn't determined yet. I waved Petra goodnight, walked to my room, kicked off my boots, and laid on top of the covers. I stared up at the ceiling and started to get tired. I realized I hadn't checked my phone. I felt lazy and once again left it be for another few hours as I drifted off to sleep after a semi-eventful day.
