I was walking with Petra, who seemed rather happy that she was training me. I passed by some other scouts along the way and I could tell that all of them were probably wondering who the hell I was, but I pressed forward to the stables. As Petra led me to the stables again, I saw Levi over talking to Hange and Erwin. Hange waved and I waved back, smiling. I then saw Erwin turn to see who Hange was waving at and Levi looked surprised, it was only a quick emotion that passed over his face though. Other Scouts were looking at me as well. I just brushed it off and kept walking with Petra to the horses. "Petra, this may be a stupid question, but... why does everyone keep staring at me? I mean people don't know me... but still." She laughed as she walked into the stall of her horse. "Well, people weren't and aren't sure if the rumors are true," she started to get things out to prep her horse to go somewhere. Where, I didn't know, but I guessed it was something to do with my training. "W-what rumors?" my face reddened a bit, scared and embarrassed that I was being talked about. Petra smiled at me reassuringly as she entered her horse's stall.

"Everyone knows you as what Eld called you. 'The girl in the window', almost everyone's talking about how you somehow survived with no training out there. That and another thing." I handed her the saddle that she motioned for me to give her. "What's the other thing?" Petra cleared her throat as if she was ready to tell a whole big fairy tale. "Everyone has been talking about how you supposedly entranced the captain," she chuckled "From what I saw I do think you left a good impression on him, I mean he seemed pretty entranced when he first saw you, and when he even looks in your direction" she paused for a moment to think, "anyway, Levi knew you weren't a cadet, mainly from your clothes, but when you fell asleep while we were bringing you back here, he asked us, how we thought you survived... None of us could really come up with an answer."

She smiled at me and said "Then when we got back to HQ, you were still asleep, so he took you up to a room and let you sleep there, but when he came back down, he said he wanted one of us to train you. He said and I quote," Petra then mimicked Levi's voice, "'The brat survived somehow, that means she's worth something. One of you is going to train her. So who's going to volunteer?'" Petra looked at me with a wide smile on her face, "Of course, I volunteered because I thought that it'd be nice to have some time with another girl. I mean Hange's fun, but she can be a bit crazy, and you seemed pretty nice." She shrugged, "I figured I was up to the challenge of training you like a cadet and along the way, maybe making a new friend, that isn't a guy." Petra and I chuckled and by now I realized that she had two horses prepped in the meantime of telling you what happened last night.

"Now, first lesson, horseback riding." I smiled 'cause I'd ridden horses before, never into battle, but I'd ridden before.

She basically jumped up onto her horse and I hopped on mine. We both rode to an open area. "Okay, so (Y/n), you don't have to go into a gallop right aw- WAIT! WHERE ARE YOU GOING!!?" Petra got her horse to gallop right behind me. When she realized I was already off, it was absolutely hilarious.

"Hey, Petra! Down to that tree and back to HQ?!" Petra looked ahead and saw it in the distance. "Y-yeah! S-sure!" I smirked at her as I got my horse to go faster. I got to the tree and with skill, turned my horse quickly so she wouldn't run into it. I had her gallop quickly back to HQ as I yelled to Petra, "FIRST ONE BACK TO HQ WINS!" I laughed and made it back first and basically jumped off the horse when she stopped at the stables. I led her into the stall and started taking off the saddle and reins when Petra galloped into the yard. I smiled to myself, keeping quiet, and kept working on unsaddling the horse. I saw Petra get off her horse and start to lead it to the stables as Levi walked over to her. I tried to listen in on them but I couldn't, so I walked over and took Petra's horse from her and heard the words "might be good enough for even the Military Police," come out of Levi's mouth. I figured they might be talking about some cadets... or possibly me, but I highly doubted it I mean I survived on pure luck out there and just happened to grow up with horses when I was little, I wasn't amazing.

As I had just gotten done unsaddling Petra's horse, she came over smiling at me with a knowing look on her face. "Thanks for putting my horse away (Y/n). Something tells me a certain Captain and Commander saw you. If you keep this up you may be good enough to be handpicked by Levi, even though I'm pretty sure he has his eye on you either way. That, or if the Military Police saw you, they could take you too." 'So they were talking about me...' "Petra, if I'd be able to pick, I would definitely go with the Scouts. The Military Police are... I don't know. They're just not for me. Most of them seem like a bunch of assholes." Petra smiled at me, "Well, just know, if you do join the Scouts, even if you aren't in our squad, you seem capable and responsible so, I'd trust you to have my back against the Titans." I smiled, "Same here. So is there any other training for today?" Petra shook her head. "I have to go to a briefing with Hange, Levi, and the guys. Erwin and Levi are going to the capital to see some cadet they have in chains there. They say he has powers. You're lucky, you don't have to go. Unless... you want to come and see all of what the big guys in the Scouts have to do before actually going anywhere?"

I took that as an invitation to come with her so she wouldn't be bored. Petra looked interested when she got to the part about Eren, but the rest of it she looked as if she was going to die from boredom just thinking about it. I took this as my chance to see some of what Levi has to do. "Are you sure Levi and Erwin won't mind me being there?" Petra instantly saw my interest in it and lit up from her bored and kind of tired look. "They shouldn't, I mean technically if they do mind, I could just say you're following me around 'cause technically I'm your mentor." She had a sly smile on her face and I chuckled. "I guess I'll go." Petra clapped her hands together and started walking with me, filling you in on 'the kid's' powers.

We both eventually met up with Oluo, Gunther, Eld, and Levi to go talk to Erwin. Oluo looked a little bit pissed that I was there. "Why does she get to come? She's a cadet! It's not like she's traveling to the capital!" I felt hurt but then remembered that Oluo likes to be hard on newbies. I figured I should show no sign of anger, sadness, or any reaction at all to his words. Petra started to explain, "She already knows which branch of the military she wants to be in, so I fig-" until Levi cut her off "It's a learning experience for the cadet, so stop complaining." I was surprised that Levi stood up for me. I looked over at him trying to read his face for any emotion. I saw a bit of annoyance but that's about it, it quickly changed back to an emotionless-looking state. I walked quietly alongside Petra with my hands in my pockets looking down at the ground as I wondered if Eld and Gunther felt the same as Oluo. I didn't have time to overthink it because Levi actually started a conversation with me. "(Y/n), it was (Y/n) right?" I nodded, "Yes sir." I smiled slightly at the fact that he remembered my name and that he was trying to talk to me. "You beat Petra in a horse race that you two had during training today. It took a lot of skill to pull off a few things that Petra told me you did while riding. Keep it up." 'Am I getting complimented by THE Levi Ackerman?' I thought about it for a second and said, "Thank you, Captain." I felt speechless. I looked over at Oluo who looked as if he felt embarrassed for complaining about me.
