Fred initially thought that he was dreaming when he first woke up. The birds were chirping, the sun was up, and Sage was resting peacefully in his arms. He subconsciously pulled her into him tighter, not wanting her to drift away as she did in all of those other dreams. When she stayed there in his arms, her chest moving slowly against them, he started to remember the night before and realized that he was in fact not dreaming.

A smile spread across his face at the realization but it soon started to disappear as he remembered more and more from the night before. The only reason that he was waking up with her in his arms was that she was upset. About another guy. It wasn't because she finally realized her undying love for him.

He sighed and carefully slid his arms out from underneath her, rolling over to the other side of the bed and onto his back. He stared up at the ceiling for a moment before giving in and turning back to look at the beautiful girl beside him, a sad smile taking over his face.

As he laid there, Sage naked and clueless beside him, he thought about how he almost wished he didn't love her. It would make his life so much easier; he could continue to have amazing sex with her without the messy feelings and he could finish out his last year at Hogwarts having fun before cutting his ties and moving on with his life. He almost wished that that was the case.

He didn't, though. He couldn't bring himself to wish for that. He hadn't been lying when he said that Sage deserved the entire world. She deserved all of the love, his included. Even if she didn't love him back.

He was drawn out of his thoughts when Sage started to stir. He smiled to himself as he watched her blearily start to open her eyes, brows furrowed in confusion and bringing her hands up to rub over her eyes. She seemed out of place for a moment before she started to scan the room that she was in, confusion leaving her face when she saw Fred.

"Morning," she rasped out sheepishly. She then started to yawn and stretch her arms up behind her head while arching her back, looking exactly like a sleepy kitten. It was about the cutest thing that Fred had ever seen.

"Morning," he responded, voice filled with amusement.

She turned on her side to look at him with her arms curled up underneath the pillow and looked at him with a look that was both sheepish and mischievous at the same time, making her look even more like the embodiment of a kitten.

"Clothes?" she asked with raised eyebrows, obviously already knowing that he couldn't say no to her.

He chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, yeah." She smiled at him and hopped out of bed, scampering over to his closet naked. "You're going to have like half of my closet in your room now!" he shouted from the bed.

She re-entered the room a moment later, her body practically buried in a pair of his sweatpants and a light grey crewneck. "I know," she said with a grin. "I'll have to do a haul of all your clothes back here sometime." She sat back down on the bed, her legs crossed together. "Or maybe I'll just keep them all. They really are quite comfy."

Fred chuckled and shook his head. It was then silent for a moment, the only sound to be heard was the bustle in the common room a hallway down from them, and Fred decided that it was a good time to ask about the elephant in the room.

"So do you want to talk about last night?".

Sage sighed as if she'd known exactly what he was about to say. "Not really. It just really did not go well."

Fred frowned. "What, was it just awkward or something? You were really upset last night, it had to be more than that."

Sage looked down at her hands and fiddled with the long sleeves that covered her hands. It was then that Fred started to worry a bit - she only fiddled with her sleeves like that when she was upset or anxious about something.
