Tommy Innit had decided that he would take a walk. With Philza teaching during the day and the boys busy schedules, Tommy found that he was left home alone. He didn't like it. Why would they trust that he wasn't running away? Did they care if he did? What if he destroyed the house, tore apart the furniture from the very seams and practically invited bugs inside with food everywhere? Did they not think he was capable of that? He was, once, long before his spirit was broken. Now, he couldn't stand a silent house.
He didn't know the layout of the town, so it was natural that he got lost. Well, to say he was lost was to say he had destination in mind. No, he just wasn't anywhere he expected to be. It was the edge of the forest, the Greater Forest it was named. The trees stood as a natural barrier to protect L'Manberg from any threats. Tommy wondered what threats were beyond the woods.
Certainly, it couldn't be the rather tall teenager with half white and half black hair that was tiredly trotting out of the woods. Tommy tilted his head to the side, half trying to hide himself while observing the teenager. It didn't take long for the heterochromic boy to turn towards him, his one red and one green eyes widening in surprise. "Who are you?"
"Tommy. Shouldn't you be at school or some shit?" Tommy asked. It wasn't that long ago that Wilbur and Techno left for their first period. The school day had started, and this kid was clearly a teenager underneath his tired appearance and tall stature. Tommy looked around for camping equipment. The kid still had messy bedhead.
"I'm Ranboo. I'm not at school because I accidentally te-" Ranboo (what was it with this town and weird names?) cut himself off with even wider eyes than before. Tommy was tempted to walk away when Ranboo grabbed his hand. "I went for a morning walk and lost my phone. You're the new Tommy, right? That Philza adopted?"
"I haven't been adopted, but I am new and named Tommy. Why'd you go walking on a school morning?" Tommy said, pulling his hand away with a sour expression. He didn't like it when people touched him, unhappy memories rising from the depths of his mind. He shuddered as he thought about one home. The people there loved physical interactions, and it wasn't long before the comforting hugs and pumped high fives became choking and slapping. Tommy took a deep breath and looked back at Ranboo.
"I get a free pass. Walking helps calm me down," Ranboo said, more concerned than annoyed that Tommy pulled away. Tommy nodded slowly, not wanting to open that can of worms. He tried walking away, but Ranboo was right beside every step of the way. "Why aren't you in school? Are you going to be coming soon?"
"I don't know. If I'm still here in a week, I might be there but I doubt it," Tommy shrugged his shoulders. Now that Ranboo wasn't thinking about touching, Tommy was fine with the conversation. As long as it didn't go on for too long or get awkward, Tommy would conversate for a while. He didn't want the conversation to sour with time, like most things that involved Tommy did. He had a bad habit of slowly ruining good things.
"Why would you say that?" Ranboo said in genuine confusion. He looked around cautiously like he was expecting something to happen. Ranboo sometimes flinched when something moved around him, excluding Tommy. The blonde wasn't sure what to chalk it up as. Simple paranoia, or was something happening in the town that Tommy wasn't unaware? Everything did seem odd about the place. The edges of the town nauseated Tommy, making him want to flee from the borders. Wilbur and Techo had seemed jumpy the previous day, alluding to some secret. Tommy didn't mind that people, even a whole community, was keeping secrets from him, but if it affected his safety like Ranboo's actions pointed to, Tommy was ready to act out horribly to get away from L'Manberg.
"Something you'll come to learn about me, oreo, is that I'm not what one would call a good person. I've seen some fucked up things, done some shit. You shouldn't expect me to stay around for long," Tommy explained, looking around as if he could see what Ranboo saw. "This is a tight knit community. Bunch of clingy bitches grouped together. I'm an outsider. There's secrets here that I don't know. Frankly, I don't give a damn, but that causes awkward situations that lead to friction, and friction causes fire."
