"I know what brothers are! I had one a long time ago!" Charlie said as he stared up at Tommy Innit from Nowhere through the metal bars. Tommy looked down at him, as if all the words he said before weren't meant for Charlie and he was just now noticing the slime hybrid. Charlie didn't mind. He liked listening to stories, and though Quackity from Las Nevadas was normally the one that told him stories, Charlie didn't care who was telling the story. Charlie could find out a lot of things about humans if his subject pool was wide, after all. Tommy had been talking about his relationship with Quackity in terms of his relationship with Wilbur, who had mentioned was something like a brother to him. Tommy was explaining half heartedly what a brother was, but Charlie felt like he needed Tommy to know that brotherhood was one of the human ideas that Charlie knew well enough.

"Will you tell me what your brother was like?" Tommy asked, sitting down on the ground of the house that Wilbur had dubbed as Paradise. Tommy leaned against the bars, staring out the small window that showed the city of Las Nevadas across the lake. Charlie tilted his head to the side as he squirmed around in his partially underground prison to see Tommy's face. Quackity had sat Charlie in front of a television once, and put on colored pictures of people moving around and talking. Quackity would pause at random points, pointing at one of the characters. He would ask Charlie what that character was feeling and why. Charlie had learned the telltale signs that humans had when they were experiencing different emotions that Quackity had given him the name to. Tommy looked sad and confused. Charlie didn't know why, though, and Quackity wasn't here to explain it to him. Charlie supposed he would need to keep watching.

"My brother was tiny. He was like me! 100% flesh and bone and skin like a real human! Except, instead of gooping, he would spit out fire. My brother came from the place behind the purple swirls! We were separated when we were newly formed... I mean, when we were just born! Because we are humans that came out of a butt! My brother went into the purple swirls, and I stayed in the grass. One time, I accidently went into the purple swirls! It took me to a place that's all red and hot. My brother was there. I knew who he was, but he didn't know who I was! I had to tell him. I had to teach him how to speak! He was really bad at it but then he got better overnight!" Charlie said, recalling what must have been an eternity ago at this point. While he was insistent that he was human, a slime was prone to living indefinitely since they didn't age. Charlie nor his brother had been recently created by any stretch of the imagination. "Other humans came into the place. My brother really loved those humans. He told me he wanted to be like them... Wait, no he didn't! Because we are and were always humans. Umm... My brother went with a human one day. He looked a lot like this human... not just because they were both human but more than that. He looked more like this human than he looked like me. My brother came back. He was... what was the word Quackity of Las Nevadas told me? It's like he had been hurt by the humans..."

"Abused. That's the word you're looking for," Tommy whispered quietly, his eyes fluttering shut. Charlie stared at him for a moment. Was that the word Quackity told him? Quackity had been telling Charlie that most humans aren't good people. He got all quiet and sad as he told Charlie about a man that had hurt him long before he had met Charlie. When Charlie asked, Quackity told him that what had been done to him was a very special word that could never be misused. Charlie didn't know that words could be misused, but Quackity told him that some words mean more than what he understands and he'll confuse people if he uses them. Charlie had been careful of his words after that point, but he was pretty sure that he knew about all the words that he used. Still, abused seemed to be the right word for the situation. It was the word that Quackity had used when they had been talking.

"Oh, yeah! You're so smart, Tommy Innit from Nowhere! The other humans abused my brother. He came back sad and hurt. He didn't want anything to do with humans. He didn't want anything to do with me... a fellow human and his brother. My brother went to sleep. He was sleeping for a long time. I went back through the purple swirls. Every time I came back, my brother was still asleep. He started to look different as the years went on. His cubes took the figure of a human... uhhh, but he was a human all along! Just... he started to look extra human. Like, human plus! Then, one day, I came back through the swirls and my brother was gone! I don't know where he is... I don't know what happened to him. Quackity from Las Nevadas told me that my brother had woken up and wandered off," Charlie explained. His face lowered down as a feeling tightened in what would have been his gut. Charlie was excelling at identifying the emotions of humans, but he had a hard time figuring out what he felt. Quackity wouldn't explain it to him, telling Charlie that everyone felt emotions differently. Charlie thinks he was feeling sadness, but the word didn't seem right for some reason. It was like... the word wasn't enough to explain what he felt. He was feeling more than sad, and he didn't know what that word was. He took a deep breath that he didn't need as he looked back at Tommy who had remained silent through the second half of Charlie's story. Charlie couldn't stop himself as the words came out of his lips. "Tommy Innit from Nowhere, do you think my brother is looking for me? Do you think he woke up, and went searching for where I was? Do you think that wherever he is... he wants to be with me instead? That he... misses me?"

"Fuck... I-I don't know. Maybe. I really think that he might be somewhere out there. I guess all we can do is hope," Tommy whispered, looking back at Charlie with a bitter smile and cheeks shimmering with tears shed. Charlie reached a hand through the bars, holding onto Tommy's cheek to wipe the water away. Tommy didn't say anything as Charlie left his hand there to cool off the heat radiating off Tommy's skin. Charlie's nerves weren't developed yet meaning that he didn't feel any pain, and his gel-like skin couldn't have been burned anyway. All he felt was the heat that seemed to come from somewhere deep within Tommy's skin. Charlie searched in those bright blue eyes that were focused on him. Another feeling struck his heart, one that he knew nothing about. It was like he had been here before, done the same things in another lifetime. Charlie didn't get much explanation as he heard Foolish yelling outside Paradise house. Tommy launched onto his feet, all traces of that sad understanding washing away in an instant to reveal panicked defensiveness. Tommy grabbed a nearby weapon, marching outside to face Foolish down. Tommy let his eyes find Charlie's before the door shut, the eyes telling him to stay put. Charlie leaned back against the back wall of his dirt prison. He would need to ask Quackity about all of this once Tommy let him out of the cell. Because, Charlie instinctively knew, Tommy wasn't going to keep him here forever unless Charlie asked him to do so.
