Last chapters ending:
"How did it go? What did you find out?" She started asking questions all freaked out.
"Well," he took a deep breath, "It was definitely still going on but I took it the police and now they're handling everything. Expect them to come and investigate. They'll be asking questions. Just be sure Tom is there for moral support because it will get hard. They won't stop until you break into pieces," he tried to warn her. His two hands laid on her shoulders before he pulled her into a hug, "It's going to be okay. No one's going to be hurting you anymore," he whispered in her ear as she pulled him in tighter. "Thank you," she said softly into his chest. "Don't thank me. Thank Tom for going back and finding it," he pulled away and gave her a fake smile. "You should get some rest I'll see you tomorrow," he said before walking away from her to change.
"Yeah see you tomorrow," she said after him.Meredith went out of the hospital and got into her car. She placed the key into the ignition to start the car and as she was about to drive off she stopped and stared at the empty car park in front of her. Tom hasn't called. She thought to herself. She ran away in the middle of the night and he hasn't checked in on her. She started thinking if it was rational for her to go back to his apartment. It could go two or more ways. She goes back and she can hear the never ending argument about him being insecure about their relationship or he could come running at her and bugging her about how he was worried all day. Either way it was a lost cause for her. She leaned her head against the car seat and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath listening to the cars driving in the distant. People living their lives peacefully without a worry of someone breaking into their house and slitting their throats in the middle of the night.
There was a loud knock on her car window, waking her up from her light slumber.
"You look like shit!" Cristina's voice muffled through the glass and looked at her.
"Really? Didn't noticed," she snapped back.
"Come on Mer out the car. We're going get drunk at Joes until our words don't make sense." She opened the car door and dragged her out of the seat, "you said you needed it and I had a crappy week so we're getting drunk today."
"Cristina I'm not in the mood," she ripped her arm out from under her grip.
"You will be," she protested as she placed both of her hands against her back and started pushing her forwards. Meredith tried to stop but she was so tired she didn't have energy to put up a fight. She let Cristina push her into the bar with her back leaned against her hands. They both sat down on the stools looking like they just came back from a war.
"Hello ladies," Joe smiled at them both. He exchanged looks between Meredith and Cristina trying to read their minds, "I'm guessing you had a crappy week at work," he pointed at Cristina, "and you," he was still trying to figure out Meredith, "dude what the hell happened to you," he chuckled lightly.
"Just give me tequila and don't stop until I pass out," she let her head fall into the palm of her hands. "Boss giving you a hard time?" He asked as he was preparing her drinks. "And that's not even the worst of it," Meredith grabbed the tequila and downed it like it was water. "What about you? What do you want?" He looked at Cristina. "Same thing," she sighed. They both drank the shots of tequila and soon started to feel the alcohol kick in. "Another round?" Joe asked. Cristina and Meredith looked at each other and started laughing. "Just give it to us straight," Cristina turned to Joe as Meredith was examining the people in the bar. "Here!" He said as he saw the girls down the shots of tequila once again."Hey!" Cristina nudged Meredith in her side as someone caught her eyes. "Ow! What the hell was that for?" She said all woozy from the tequila. "Oh stop whining," she rolled her eyes, shushing her, "Just look over there," she pointed at a person in the bar, not even caring about people watching her, "isn't that Tom," she whispered snickering in her ears. Meredith lifted her head and looked at the direction she was pointing at, "It is," Meredith jumped up to her feet and started walking. "Woaw Woaw Woaw Woaw, hold up," Cristina pulled her by her wrist, "Where do you think you're going?" She asked her. Cristina could hardly see straight.
"Well I was planning on going up to him until you RuDeLy interrupted me," she came up close to her face. "Don't you see the pretty woman beside him. You can't just walk up to him casually," she hit her in the arm.
"Okay you have got to stop hurting me," Meredith warned her, "and I'm sure that's just a friend," she shrugged her shoulders.
"Oh honey you're so naive," she rubbed Meredith's cheeks. Meredith stood up straight thinking about what Cristina said and what she saw. Tom hasn't called her all day. He hasn't checked in, thinking if she's alright. Maybe he was cheating on her, "I have to go up to him either way," she ripped her wirst out from her touched and wobbled over to Tom. Cristina close behind her.
"Hello kind sir," she stumbled up to his table, slurring her words and giggled as she saw Tom's shocked face.
"Meredith," he breathed her name.
"Fancy meeting you here. I'm gone for a whole day and no phone call or a message asking me if I'm okay. But yet again I realise you've been quite busy," she gestured with her hands counting the reasons almost falling over and poking someone's eyes as she gave a nasty look at the lady who was sitting beside Tom.
"This is not what it looks like-," he started to explain before Meredith cut into his sentence. "I mean I could be dead, or I could be hurt. What's the other thing?" Meredith looked over at Cristina whispering, trying to think of the another reason, while crossing her brows, "You could be cheating," Cristina whispered. "I could be cheating!" She shouted quickly almost knocking over the glasses on the table still trying to stand on her two feet, "Thanks," she bent back to Cristina. "And you don't even care," she turned to the woman and gave her, her hand, "Hi I'm Meredith," she smiled and stomped one of her foot on the ground.
"Lucy," she gracefully took her hand and shook it, "Tom's sister," she added. Meredith looked at her in shock and then started laughing as she looked at Cristina who joined her, "Sister!" Their giggles filled the bar. "See I told you," she slapped Cristina in the arms as they continued laughing. They exchanged quite whispers as Tom and Lucy looked at them worried. "I shall let you guys be," Meredith tried to hold back her laughter as she tried to rush Cristina out of this embarrassing situation. They both were still laughing at nothing, not even looking where they were going when Meredith walked into mans chest, "Oh," she stopped laughing and looked up, "So sorry sir I di- Derek!" She smiled as soon as she saw his face. Her hands flung around his shoulders as she jumped up, wrapping her legs around his waist.
"Meredith-," Tom was just coming after her as he saw her jump into Derek's arms. Derek was taken by surprise as he tried to figure out what to do with his hands. He spotted Tom and immediately tried to brush Meredith off, "Hey," he chuckled as he lifted her off his shoulders in confusion still looking at Tom. "I missed you," she placed her palms on his cheeks and slapped it lightly, looking into his deep ocean blue eyes that made her feel so safe. "You just saw me," he chuckled nervously as he took a step back. Meredith looked around trying to remember the last few hours, "Oh," she started giggling with Cristina again, "that's right I did," she started whispering with Cristina again. They walked off leaving Derek there puzzled. "What the hell was that?" Tom came up to him all jealous. "I don't know," he put his hands up in defense, "I have no idea. But she's really drunk. You need to take her home before she slams her lips against a strangers mouth. She's with Cristina," he gave him one last look and then looked at Joe, "a beer please," he asked.
"But she loves me, surely she won't do that," Tom chuckled nervously, thinking about all the time she went out drinking with Cristina.
"I hope you're right man," he shook his head and sat down on the stool drinking his beer of. "Is that your sister?" Derek asked tilting his head looking at the woman who was sitting beside him. "Oh uhm- yeah she is," Tom answered. "She's pretty," Derek started admiring her forgetting Tom was there. "Hey," he snapped his fingers in front of him, "Don't get any ideas, there's no chance I'm letting you date her," he warned him. "Oh come one. One date," Derek protested. He wasn't really looking for someone to go on a date with but the thought of her being off limits intrigued him.
"No, I'm not setting her up on blind dates, especially not with you," Tom blurted out without even thinking. Derek stopped the bottle of beer in front of his mouth and crossed his eyebrows looking at him slowly, "Especially me? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He cocked his head.
"I- that's not what I mean," Tom dried dug his way out of the whole he just trapped himself in.
"Then what did you mean Tom," he smirked knowing very well he just fucked up.
"It's just that, you seem to always get into danger and I don't want her around that. I mean I'm still trying to get through the nights," he leaned down whispering to him, "We fucking hid parts of a body in the woods," he said as quietly as possible. Derek turned his head abruptly from shock, "What the hell are you doing?" He was so furious, "There are fucking people here. You can't just go and talk about it like it's and everyday thing," his jaw clenched as he fought the urge to slap him across the face.
"Sorry," Tom blushed. There was awkward silence between them when Lucy walked up to them. Derek gave her his famous McDreamy smile, "Hi there," he looked up at her. "Hey," Lucy tried to hide her smile as she got lost in his gorgeous blue eyes. Tom looked between the two and got mad real quick, "I think I should take Meredith home. Lucy come one," he grabbed her hand. "Nice meeting you," she shouted after Derek as he waved his hands in response not taking his eyes off her, "You too!" Derek chuckled to himself taking the last sip of his beer and leaving a twenty dollar bill on the bar for Joe and walked out.
