Chapter 09

PAGKARATING sa WOF, nagkanya-kanyang laro sila. Si Clyde nagfocus uli sa basketball para dagdagan ang ticket. Marami tuloy na babaeng tumitingin sa kanya saka napapatigil para tingnan s'ya maglaro. Si Mandy and Clark sa isang arcade pumuwesto. Si Marcy at Justine sa Dance machine. Wow, they become comfortable that fast? Ang galing naman ng mga hindot kong kaibigan.

"Saan tayo?" Solitaire ask.

"Hmm, u don't play basketball-"

"Hey, kelan ko sinabi yan?" Pagpuputol n'ya sa sinabi ko.

"One time nung nag-usap tayo tungkol sa nagagalit ako sa kuya ko na sigaw ng sigaw sa basketball. You told me you don't play that game one time sa call. Diba?" Panigurado ko.

"Wait did I said that?" umakto pa s'ya na nag-iisip then when he realized something, he snapped out of it and start to look amazed. "The heck! That's two years ago..."

"I don't care. I remember."

"Mas naalala mo pa yan kesa sa formula sa Stat Prob." Pang-aasar n'ya.

"Oh bat nadamay yan?" Natatawa kong tanong.

"Sige, what's the formula in finding the estimated-"

"The topic was about you not playing basketball." I cut him off.

He chuckled more and touch his nape like a shy boy. "Ok you win. But to make it clear, I start to play basketball since my brother starts to approach me. Lagi n'ya na ako inaaya sa court kasama mga pinsan ko."

Napatango ako. "So, how about arcade?"

Napatingin s'ya sa akin ng hindi makapaniwala. "Oh no miss. You are talking to a boy raised on this environment."

Napairap ako. "Why so defensive? Is it because I am a girl or you are chicken?"

He scoff. "Nah uh. Sige game ako d'yan."

"Street fighter tayo, ano. Chun Li vs. Ken." Paghahamon ko.

"Para mas exciting, let's add a condition." Saad n'ya.

"Game. I'm fine with it." Saad ko saka nag cross arms.

"If I win, you are going to be my plus one on one of my gig this end of January." He spoke.

I froze. What? Is that the consequence? Aba! Willing ako magpatalo kung ganon! But that would be very unfair. Besides, I'll show him my skills in the arcade *evil laugh*.

Napansin n'ya yata na di ako nakapagsalita so he spoke again. "I know you wouldn't come with me but at least I'm trying. I can feel  you will say 'no' kapag inaya kita. Not to gaslight you or anything but I know you won't come kase kakameet pa lang natin and you will come with company but yeah. Hehe."

"If I win..." He lift his head and look at me, "...you will be my date on JS Prom."

"Are you serious about that? Akala ko ba no outsider allowed pag JS prom." He's really shock tho.

"Yeah. I am."

"Hey, what if there's a schoolmate to ask you. Nakakahiya naman na ako-"

Inilagay ko sa harap n'ya ang kamay na nag-aantay ng ka-shake hands. "Is it a deal or not?"

He smirked and click his tongue. "Deal."

TEKKEN, Chun Li ako at s'ya naman si Ken. Unang salang namin sa arcade, nagtinginan pa kaming dalawa.

"You sure about this?" Paninigurado n'ya habang nagloloading ang game.
