Yahaba yawned softly, turning over in his sleeping bag. He opened his eyes and started. "Kiyo…?"
Iwaizumi looked up. "He went for a run."
Yahaba sighed. He got up before pulling on a hoodie and his shoes. "I'll be back."
Hanamaki looked up. "It's not like he needs a running partner man. Leave him be."
Matsukawa shook his head. "Maki, maybe it's a good idea. After his little thing this morning."
Yahaba stopped. "What thing?"
"He woke up and wanted to wake you up because he was mad about something. He said he was just gonna take a run because we 'all sucked ass and wouldn't understand'. So yeah."
Yahaba nodded. He hurried outside. He ran close to the forest where he spotted the short hair of the other male. "Kiyo!"
Kiyotani turned. He looked nervous as he saw Yahaba come closer. "What do you want?"
"You wanted to talk to me, ass. What's going on?"
"Nothing, go away."
Yahaba slapped the back of his head.
"That hurts, you know."
"I know. Tell me what's wrong."
Kiyotani shifted. He didn't know what to say. How would he even attempt to say? "Watch," he whispered.
Yahaba watched as Kiyotani walked over to a girl nearby. He leaned down and picked up her wallet and a small journal by her feet that had fallen.
"You dropped this miss." The lady startled and a slap sounded. Kiyotani gulped. "Why did you just-"
"Why are you touching my stuff?! What the hell?!"
"No, I'm just trying to help-"
"Go away! You pervert!"
Kiyotani backed up before heading to Yahaba, his steps fast and hands shaking. "Every time…"
Yahaba took him into his arms. "No, no it's okay."
Kiyotani clutched his jacket, not saying much. "I wouldn't even lay a finger on any women. Or men. Or nonbinary people. I don't hurt people."
Yahaba got behind a few trees and rubbed Kiyotani's cheek. "Shhhh, shhhh. I know. Trust me, I know."
"I'm a scary person…"
"Do you want me to slam you into the tree and knock some sense into you?!"
Kiyotani startled.
"You are the sweetest, most caring boy I know! You are not scary!"
Kiyotani started crying, partially scared and heartbroken as well. "I know! Stop yelling at me!"
Yahaba tried his best to control his anger. He had issues with anger, too. He knew how it felt. "You don't scare me Kiyotani."
The blonde sniffled.
Yahaba opened his arms. "Come here." Kiyotani put his head on Yahaba's chest. Yahaba rubbed his back slowly, all the way up to his hair. "I've got you. It's okay…"
Kiyotani huddled up against him, trying to calm down. "Why are you so nice to me?"
"Why not?"
Kiyotani snuggled his neck. He hugged him tighter. He kissed his jaw, nipping slightly.
It didn't hurt. It was so gentle that made Yahaba want to kiss him. He did, nice and slow as Kiyotani liked.
"Mm…" Kiyotani straightened up and they kissed again.
Yahaba put his hand on Kiyotani's chest. "This is wrong."
"I was being really nice…"
"Kiyo… We… We can't. I'm not out and I could get in trouble."
Kiyotani hugged him and kissed his hair. "I'm sorry."
"It's fine." Yahaba kissed him before heading back to the school with him.
Oikawa took Yahaba aside and Kiyotani went into a corner by himself. He read a book, trying to hide himself.
Iwaizumi came over and sat by him, worried.
Kiyotani was fast asleep though, book against his chest. Yahaba had to come and wake him up and the blond just sat up and grumbled about feeling achy.
Yahaba got him curled up in the corner again, frustrated. Iwaizumi helped and got water and tested his temperature, which was higher than normal.
He wasn't aggressive but rather whispered. He whispered to his team as they talked to him. He closed his eyes and slipped in and out of sleep, holding people's hands as a way to stay grounded.
Yahaba was eventually taken into Kiyotani's lap, the blond sleeping on his chest in a weird position. Oikawa came up, wanting cuddles. Kiyotani didn't mind, getting closer.
"Oh, you're being so nice…"
Kiyotani stared at the wall next to him. "I am nice."
"Kind of."
"Eh."
"I'm working on it, shut up." He yawned. "Yahaba… Rub my hair."
Yahaba frowned. "Why should I?"
Kiyotani looked up. "Please. I'll get you Ikura don."
"Fine." Yahaba gently rubbed his hair, getting him back to sleep. "We know you aren't mean. Just relax."
Kiyotani smiled. Oikawa pat Kiyotani's shoulder. "You're not bad at all. Silly."
"Mm…"
Yahaba huddled down close and hid in the blankets with him. Oikawa eyed him. He was the only one besides Kiyotani who knew Yahaba was gay and the fact that he was hiding to probably kiss the other male made him feel giddy.
Yahaba was indeed receiving kisses under the blanket, resting against Kiyotani as the blond drowsily loving on him. What a sweet boy...
