The soft patter of steps against the hardwood in the small house rang out, waking Daichi. He rubbed his eyes, sitting up. "Where'd you go, baby?"
Sugawara poked his head into the door. "Hi!"
Daichi took a deep breath. He glanced at the clock. "It's two in the morning Suga. Let's go back to sleep, okay?"
Suga pouted. "I'm working out."
"Working out? You don't need to work out, come on." Daichi got up and took his hand.
"But I'm gonna need to work out or I'll get fat after I give birth."
"Nonsense." Daichi laid him down and rubbed his stomach. Sugawara's stomach was swollen enough to where it was noticeable and he seemed to be okay.
"Oh, but I will get fat! I eat weird food. Like… A whole watermelon. I ATE A WHOLE ONE YESTERDAY!"
"Hush, hush." Daichi kissed his cheek. "Why'd you do that?"
"Iunno." Sugawara took a deep breath. "Tastes like sugar. Ooh. Can we listen to Watermelon Sugar? That would be so cool."
"Not right now."
Sugawara whined. "Why?!"
"It's two in the morning. You need sleep baby."
"I love that nickname."
Daichi closed his eyes. "I know baby."
"Hehe."
Daichi started to drift off. "Shhhh, shhhh."
"Mm. Can you tell me a story?"
Daichi shook his head.
Suga turned over and blew against Daichi's face. "Guess what?"
"Mm?"
"I love you."
"I love you too." Daichi opened his eyes. "Can we go to sleep now?"
Sugawara stared at him. He smiled. "You can. I gotta pee."
Daichi huffed. Suga went to the bathroom and came back upset. "What is it?"
"The toilet paper was on the wrong way."
"That's it?"
"What do you mean that's it?" Suga sobbed. "It's so weird!"
"You're a bit weird," Daichi teased.
"Am not! That's so rude!" Suga kept crying. "You don't love me anymore!"
"Of course I do baby."
"No, you don't! I bet you put it on wrong!"
Daichi propped himself up on an elbow. "I do love you."
"Nuh-uh!" Sugawara cried quieter.
"Yes huh. Just relax." Daichi pulled him down, kiss his cheek. "I love you Koushi."
Suga stopped crying. He grabbed blankets and turned over, making Daichi spoon him. "Comfy oaf."
Daichi huddled against his back. He kissed Suga's shoulders, leaving love bites along the skin. Daichi felt him squirm and laughed.
"Not funny."
"Oh, but it is funny." Daichi kissed the side of his neck. "I'm just giving you love."
"Hehe." Suga turned and kissed Daichi.
"Follow my breathing okay?"
"Mkay." He huddled into his chest.
Daichi rubbed his stomach, taking a deep breath. "You're okay. It's okay."
Sugawara kissed his collar bone.
Daichi smiled. He fell back asleep, comfortable.
Suga on the other hand could not sleep.
He got up after a while, wanting to find a tight space to curl up in. When he found a tight spot he curled up and slept soundly.
****
"Babe?" Daichi looked around. "Baby where'd you go?"
Silver hair popped up from behind the couch. "Mm?"
"You wanna get up?"
"My belly is too big to get out," The older male whined.
"How did you get back here?" Daichi moved the couch. "Come on."
Suga hugged him. He yawned. "Naptime."
"You just woke up?"
"Kinda."
Daichi watched as he walked around. His slightly swollen feet pitter-pattered along with his blanket. The smaller male grabbed a bowl.
"Bubba I can't reach the cereal."
Daichi got him the box down, having it up and away due to Sugawara's cravings. He got the milk and strawberries out for him. Sugawara ate, smiling. He was all over Daichi, giggling and climbing over him. Daichi held his waist, chuckling.
"Our baby is gonna be soo cute." Sugawara kissed Daichi's cheek.
"Of course."
"Ooh imagine they have my hair! Silver hair is so pretty on kids."
Daichi laid him against his chest. "How much did you sleep?"
"Forty minutes."
Daichi sighed. He carried Sugawara to their room where the smaller make was wrapped in blankets. Music was put on and the AC was turned up. Suga laid on his side, watching Daichi.
Daichi rubbed his hair in small circles, smiling. "Better?"
"This literally feels like a sleepy orgasm holy hell."
"I- jeez."
Suga purred loudly. He leaned into the touch. "Mm…"
"There we go."
Suga yawned. He smiled. "The baby is kicking."
Daichi hummed. "Not your ribs this time?"
"Nope."
Daichi smiled. He eased Sugawara asleep, noticing that he had eye bags. His sleeping schedule was incredibly messed up and yet he was so energetic. He was a mess and the best thing that had ever happened to Daichi.
Sugawara stirred, rubbing his nose and humming. He seemed so content.
"Sleep well Koushi." Daichi kissed his forehead, getting up. He loved this mess.
