Chapter 17 - Weekend

Seraphina came with her sister for the weekend to a factory in a city she had never heard of before.

Seraphina obviously had not yet trusted her sister, but Leilah had helped her gain her ability, so she had a little bit of confidence in her.

"So, did you like it?" Leilah asked

"Not bad, but where is this?" Seraphina asked

"This is a pharmaceutical factory. I didn't say it before, but Specter is actually a pharmaceutical company. It is one of the factories where we produce drugs." Leilah said

Seraphina looked around and saw that it was no different from a normal factory. But then she remembered that the medicine that crippled her was produced here.

Seraphina wanted to demolish that factory at that moment. She wanted to turn every bit of it into dust, but she couldn't because her little sense of confidence was preventing her from doing that.

"So why did you bring me here?" Seraphina asked

"Don't be afraid it will not be too big, you will just be my assistant. My assistant is on leave for this weekend, I ask you to replace her for this weekend." Leilah replied

"Okay then. Where do we start?" Seraphina replied

Leilah grinned after this answer, and she remembered the old days. After a long time, the two girls would spend a weekend.

 Wellston - 16.03.20XX

John was walking around the street with a thousand thoughts in his head.

Blyke's expulsion was a shock to him.

It was a big fiasco at the school's ex-Jack to commit this kind of crime and expel him from school.

'I'm sure, like my name, Blyke's punishment won't just be expelled from school. I hope it doesn't enter the readjustment class' John thought

As John walked with these thoughts, he stopped in front of what caused him to leave his house.

Woaba Boba

He had contracted to meet Cecile here 2 days ago and is now here for that promise. He also wanted Boba tea.

As soon as John walked through Woaba Boba's door, he searched for Cecile at the tables and saw him at a table in the corner. After the two saw each other and greeted each other, John sat down at Cecile's table, they gave their orders and the two started talking.

"How are you doing? How was your weekend?" John asked

"Not bad. It looks like my dad liked you and doesn't see any trouble in our relationship." Cecile said

"I'm glad, so what do you intend to do now? What will you say when your parents ask me in the future?" John asked

"I'll tell them we didn't get along and say we broke up. They will believe me." Cecile said

Cecile paused for a moment and continued talking.

"Actually John, there was a question I wanted to ask you, did you feel anything about anyone?" Cecile asked

John was stunned by this question, but he answered soon after.

"I was attracted to someone once. Now she hates me." John replied

"Sorry about what you said now. If I wasn't someone I loved, I could really ask you out." Cecile said

John looked at her in surprise after what she said. Cecile then realized what she was saying and started talking to John in embarrassment.

"Forget what I said! I never said that." Cecile said

It was the first time John had seen this side of Cecile.

"I'll forget what you said, on one condition, you will tell me who you love." John said

"I have no other choice, right?" Cecile asked

"No, you have no other choice." John replied

Cecile replied honestly to John when she realized that there was no escape route.

"Rei" Cecile said

"Who?" John said

"Rei is the King of the school before Arlo and Remi's brother. He's already graduated from school." Cecile said

John remembered him after what Cecile said.

"And even though he's graduated, you can't feel anything for anyone else, can you?" John asked

"I don't understand that, John. It's been 3 years since I last saw him, but I still can't see anyone but him." Cecile said

"It's not an obstacle actually, you can reach it whenever you want, right?" John said

Cecile felt sad after hearing this and continued to drink her drink.

"Actually I can't reach him, John, he passed away 4 months ago." Cecile said sadly

"Sorry to remind you" John said apologetically

"Did you go to his funeral?" John asked

"No I couldn't go. I shouldn't say that, but Rei was actually a vigilante called X-Static and was found dead on the street one night." Cecile said

John was upset after hearing this because the superheroes were his inspiration.

The two of them kept talking about themselves until the evening.

After John left Woaba Boba, he started walking towards his house.

'Rei huh. Arlo, Remi, and now Cecile. You have been an inspiration to many people without realizing it. I'd love to meet you someday, X-Static.' John thought
