Lovun Town - 22.03.20XX
It's the weekend and John and Seraphina are in the town of Lovun to meet Leilah.
They went to the café where Seraphina and Arlo used to go to meet Leilah. Oddly enough, Seraphina never suspected this.
The two of them entered the café and sat at one of the big tables in the corner, the table was for about 6 people. It was a big table for only 3 people to meet.
"Well, where is your sister?" John asked
"Wait, she'll be here soon." Seraphina said immediately after looking at her phone.
The two decided to order something while they waited.
"Luckily, this place doesn't sell Boba tea. I haven't had it for a long time. Why didn't we go to Woaba Boba though?" John asked boredly
"I don't know. My sister specifically wanted to meet here. It's not such a bad place. I'm sure you'll find something on the menu that suits you." Seraphina replied
While the two of them had placed their orders and waited, when the door of the café opened, John and Seraphina's attention turned to the door and 2 people who were not expected to be there at that moment entered.
"Hello Seraphina, John." Arlo said after entering the café with Remi next to him.
John didn't expect to see Arlo and Remi there at that moment. Shocked by this, and angered at seeing Arlo, he scoffed at Arlo.
"Why are you here, damn it. Are you doing things behind my back again!?" John asked angrily
"Relax, I'm here to meet Leilah." Arlo said
"John, it's okay. Arlo knows what's going on. I don't know why Remi is here, though." Seraphina said to calm John down.
"I brought Remi here. After what happened to Rei, she at least has the right to have this meeting." Arlo said
'Wow, I didn't know Arlo was involved. Well, I guess it won't be too much of a problem. However, if Remi hadn't been aware of the events, there would have been a lot of trouble.' John thought
After their conversation was over, Arlo and Remi sat down at the table and ordered something.
After about 20 minutes, the door of the café opened and Leileh entered the café. As soon as she entered the café, she headed towards the table where the four of them were sitting.
"Hello, you must be John, right?" Leilah asked with a genuine smile.
"Yeah, you must be Leilah, the one whose men attacked my house." John replied sarcastically.
"First of all, I apologize for what happened that day. My men carried out the incident without my knowledge. If I had known, none of this would have happened." Leilah replied sadly
"It doesn't matter anymore, it's done now. So I forgive you." John accepted the apology
After John accepted her apology, Leilah smiled warmly at John and sat down at the table.
After Leilah sat at the table, she saw Remi, who had been sitting silently since she had come to the café.
"Who is this girl? Is she your friend?" Leilah asked Seraphina curiously.
"Yes, I brought her here. She has important things to hear." Arlo answered the question before Seraphina.
"Well then, John and Remi, can I trust you?" Leilah asked
"You can trust me." Remi nodded slightly as John answered the question.
"Well then, I'll jump right in. As you know, I work at a company called Spectre. This company is actually a pharmaceutical company. But as a result of some research we have done in recent years, it has produced a drug that prevents people from using their abilities." Leilah said
"And you decided to use it to destroy people's ability?" John asked
"Actually not. When the drug first came out, our first thought was to eliminate all copies and recipe of that drug. But some people in the company chose to use it to their advantage. As a result, some of my men started to disobey me." Leilah replied
"So what's your purpose now?" John asked
"It's simple, eliminating EMBER." Leila replied
"Why EMBER? I don't think you're a superhero." John asked
After John asked his question, Leilah lowered her voice a little and answered John's question.
"Because EMBER and authority work together." Leilah answered in a low voice
Hearing this, John and Remi were stunned, or rather pretended to be shocked.
"W-What are you saying, such a thing is not possible, is it? EMBER and authority cannot be working together." Remi asked, her voice shaking
Remi finally decided to speak up, and after asking her question, everyone's eyes at the table turned to Remi.
'Wow, I didn't know Remi acted so well.' John thought
"Believe it or not, Remi, but it's true. The people who killed your brother are actually authority." Arlo said
"Your brother? EMBER killed your brother?" Leilah asked curiously.
"Y-Yes, my brother is actually X-Static. He was killed by EMBER about 5 months ago." Remi said sadly
"Oh, I'm so sorry, honey. What a pity." Leilah answered sincerely. But this answer was not welcomed by Remi at all.
Her older brother wasn't dead, he just lost his talent. And one of the reasons her older brother lost his ability was sitting across from him right now.
John interrupted as Remi tried to calm her anger.
"Frankly, I should have guessed that. And what do you want from us?" John asked
"I want you to work for us and help us eliminate EMBER." Leilah said
John pretended to think about this request.
"Frankly, I still don't trust you, but Sera does. So I accept your offer." John replied
"If you're going to help me avenge my brother, I accept your offer." Remi accepted the offer.
"Well then, welcome to Spectre." Leilah clapped her hands together and said happily.
"Now, in a month, I want you to come with me to a special place right after your term ends. I'll give you the location information in a month, so focus on your studies until then. OK?" Leilah said.
After everyone at the table agreed, everyone dispersed to their homes. The first thing John did, right after he went home, was to call his uncle.
"Uncle Mark, I have important information I want to tell you about Spectre" John said
Then John told his uncle all that Leilah had told him.
"I see, John, thank you for this information. I'll inform you soon of your new assignment. See you for now." Mark said and hung up.
