Wellston High - 05.08.20XX
The holidays are over and the new school term has begun. And like every student, John went back to his school, Wellston High.
It had been 3 days since the school term started and John was now in his last year, even though he was delayed for a year.
This school term was very different from the previous term.
No more Zeke,
No more Cecile,
No more Blyke,
No more Arlo,
And most importantly, no more Seraphina...
And now that the school was in better shape and he was the King, there wouldn't be much action.
Of course, since there are students who are just starting high school, there will always be a few people who will cause trouble, but dealing with them should not be too much trouble.
Eventually, John realized that this year would be less problematic than last year.
After leaving his class, John started heading towards the cafeteria for lunch.
When he reached the cafeteria, he noticed that there was a longer line in the cafeteria than usual, and then he remembered, it was chocolate cake day.
John, like every other student, got into the line of chocolate cake.
When it was finally his turn, luckily he had the last slice of the chocolate cake.
John looked at the food tray with the chocolate cake in his hand.
'The last slice of cake huh, that feels a little nostalgic.' John thought
"Give me that cake," someone commanded behind John.
'Okay, that's too nostalgic. What the hell is this!' John thought and turned around.
When John turned around, he saw a dark purple-haired girl with her hair tied in a ponytail. She looked just like Seraphina before she cut her hair. John had never seen this person before. She was likely to be a first-year student.
'Is this nature's trick on me?' John questioned nature.
"Who the hell are you?" John asked
"It's none of your business. Now give me that cake." She repeated his request without answering the question.
"No" John refused
"Then I'll take it by force." She suddenly activates her ability, kicking the ground, accelerating, and leaping at John. When she kicked the floor, cracks formed on the floor.
'She's not weak.' John thought
Just before she could reach John, John created a black barrier and she crashed into the barrier, taking reflection damage and falling to the ground.
'But not as strong as me' John thought
As soon as she fell to the ground, a girl came running up to her.
"Jeremy! Are you okay?! We need to get you to the infirmary." She said
'What? Jeremy? She is a boy?' John finally understood. The person called Jeremy wore pants instead of a skirt. It was impossible by school rules for Jeremy to be a girl. John hadn't noticed.
"I'm fine, don't worry about me." Jeremy answered the question.
John approached the injured Jeremy on the ground.
"Your name is Jeremy, right? Let's meet, I'm John, King of Wellston." John held out his hand to Jeremy.
"King? Good. John, I'm telling you right now, I'm going to dethrone you. Let's go, Teresa." Jeremy gave John an angry look.
Just as Jeremy was trying to stand up, John took another look at Jeremy and Teresa and saw the moment he and Claire challenged Zirian in New Boston.
"I'll be waiting with pleasure." John made his way to the exit of the cafeteria with his tray.
'Nature is really playing tricks on me' John thought and went up to the roof of the school.
Upon entering the school's roof, John sat alone where he would normally eat with Seraphina.
He lost himself in thought as he continued to eat his food.
'The school is doing well, freshmen can be a bit of a hassle but I can suppress them. Sera is no longer here, so school feels so empty. Then why am I still in this school?' John questioned himself.
'Even though I no longer have a reason to stay at this school, I still keep coming to this school. Not so good in my classes. Really, why am I in this school?' John continued to question himself.
"-ohn"
"JOHN!"Remi shouted
"What?" John was brought back from thoughts to the real world by Remi's shout.
"Remi? When did you arrive?" John asked
"I've just arrived. You were so engrossed that you didn't see me coming." Remi replied
"So why did you come?" John asked
"Isn't it obvious why? I came to eat. Normally, Blyke, Isen and I used to eat in the cafeteria. But right now, Blyke isn't at school, and Isen has a job in the press room, so I was looking for a place to eat. Eating alone in the cafeteria makes me sad." Remi explained and sat down next to John.
After Remi sat down next to John, the two of them made eye contact.
Remi noticed something in John she hadn't noticed before.
'He's cut-' After Remi noticed this thing she hadn't noticed before, she remembered what her brother had said, the boyfriend talk, and she averted her eyes from John, blushing.
"Is there a problem?" John asked
"No, it's okay." Remi replied
"Okay" John said and continued to eat
"John, thank you" Remi said suddenly
"For what?"
"For everything. If it weren't for you, maybe I would have been killed by Volcan in an alley right now." Remi said
"It doesn't matter, I just protected my Queen as King" John said
After John finished speaking, Remi's phone rang. He picked up his phone and talked for a while, then hung up and turned to John.
"Isen is calling us to the press room. Let's leave the trays in the cafeteria and then go to the press room." Remi stood up after saying that.
John looked into Remi's face without reacting.
"Come on, Isen is waiting for us in the press room." Remi said with a smiley face.
John noticed something, it's been a long time since he saw Remi smiling so cheerfully.
'I still have a reason to be in this school' John thought
