Wellston High - 27.09.20XX
The one-sided fight between John and Jeremy was over and Jeremy found himself in the infirmary.
On the other hand, John did not want this boy who would become the future King of Wellston to destroy the school with misconceptions. So he went to the infirmary to visit him to talk to him.
Upon entering the infirmary, John saw Doc talking to Keene.
"Come on, don't be so upset, I told you, don't believe that woman really likes you." Keene was saying things that made Doc angry. Or rather, he was making fun of him.
"Cut it out! It's not funny." Doc replied
"It's pretty funny. It's tragicomic that the girlfriend you've been hanging out with for a long time doesn't even pick up your phone all of a sudden." Keene kept saying things that would piss Doc off.
"Excuse me." John suddenly entered the conversation.
"John, what is it? If you've come to mock me, now is not the time!" Doc angrily warned John
"No, I'm not here to mock you. And why should I mock you? What happened?" John asked
"Darren's girlfriend suddenly stopped talking to him." Keene explained the incident to John with a grin.
"I really can't believe Leilah would do something like that. And stop talking about it!" Doc continued to suffer from love
'Leilah? Really?' John thought
"Doc, forget about it. Even if life closes one door, it opens the second door. Sometimes even the third door." John said
"What do you know! And why did you come here?" doc asked
"I came here to talk to that Jeremy kid. Isn't he still here?" John asked
"You came to visit the kid you beat up. He's lying on one of the gurneys in the back. Go talk if you want, but I don't want any outrage. Got it?" Doc said angrily
"Thanks, Doc" John gave his thanks and went deep into the infirmary to talk to Jeremy.
As he searched for the stretcher on which Jeremy was lying, he heard a familiar voice from one of the stretchers.
"Jeremy, you have to stop now. There's no way to beat him." Teresa tried to warn Jeremy.
'Hmm, that sounds like the girl walking around Jeremy. So Jeremy's on this stretcher.' John approached the stretcher Jeremy was on.
"Teresa! Enough! Don't interfere with my decisions!" Jeremy spoke, raising his voice to Teresa.
"Excuse me." John intervened
"YOU!" With a fury, Jeremy tried to get up from the gurney, but his injuries prevented him.
"Relax, I didn't come here to fight." John tried to calm Jeremy
"It was Teresa, wasn't it? Isn't it time for class? You'd better not be late for your class." John used class as an excuse to drive Teresa away
Teresa must have understood, and she nodded and quickly walked away, leaving John and Jeremy alone.
"Looks like someone who cares about you." John told Jeremy on the stretcher while standing
"It's none of your business." Jeremy shouted at John
"Actually, it is," said John, and he just sat down where Teresa was sitting.
"Since when have you two been friends?" John asked
"Since freshman year of middle school. Why did you wonder?" Jeremy answered John's question
"Teresa, isn't she a low-tier? And you're an elite-tier too. It's rare to see that kind of friendship at this time." John said
"I don't care about Teresa's level. She's my friend." Jeremy said
"Anyway, that doesn't matter right now. Jeremy, why are you so obsessed with being King?" John asked
"Isn't it obvious why? If I become king, I will be the prestigious person in the school." Jeremy replied
"Jeremy, tell me the real reason." John realized that although his ability was not active, Jeremy did not say the real reason.
"The main reason is... I don't want Teresa to suffer anymore." Jeremy confessed
"Since middle school, Teresa has been bullied all the time. I tried to protect her as best I could, but I couldn't always be there for her." Jeremy said
"The King at my old school was too strong. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't defeat him. When we came to this school, my first goal was to be King. If I became King, I could be sure that no one would attack Teresa." Jeremy continued his confession.
"But luckily the King at this school turned out to be stronger." Jeremy said sarcastically
"Jeremy, has anyone tried to attack Teresa since you came to this school?" John asked
"Actually not. Now that you say it, I realize it. No one tried to attack Teresa." Jeremy realized
"Jeremy, not so long ago, just last year, this school was full of vicious people like you. There wouldn't be a break without a fight at school." John said
"So what happened? In what year did the school become this quiet?" Jeremy asked
"I handled the situation." John said
"How?" Jeremy asked
"Somehow I got it done. Anyway, Jeremy, I came to tell you that you're going to be King, but next year." John said
"How so?" Jeremy asked
"Jeremy, anyone who has power over you at school is a senior. That means you'll be King after I'm gone." John said
"Really?" Jeremy's eyes lit up
"But I don't want you to be King, at least as you are now." John said
"What do you want to say?" Jeremy asked
"Jeremy, let me train you. Even though you're strong in your current state to some, you can't beat someone who doesn't use their ability. Even a cripple can easily beat you." John said
"So what I'm saying is, be my disciple and I'll make you stronger. And next year, when you become King, I won't have to worry." John made his offer
"Can you really make me stronger?" Jeremy asked
"I can do it, that's my ability." John said
"Let me ask you something, what kind of monster are you?" Jeremy asked
John just smiled at Jeremy's question.
"I'm a monster who has learned from old mistakes and is trying not to make them again." John replied
"Well, please make me stronger John." Jeremy said
"Well, we'll start tomorrow. You rest now. And say hi to Teresa for me." John said and left
'I hope my efforts pay off and this child doesn't experience what I went through.' John thought
