It's been a long time since Turf War. Since then, Isen and Elaine had surprisingly started dating. This was a big surprise for Remi.
But the other thing Remi had in mind was John. Every time she saw John, her heart began to beat faster, her face turned red, she had never looked at John this way before. While Remi was sitting in her room, focusing on her study and isolating herself from the outside world, she jumped for a moment when her phone suddenly rang. Realizing the situation, he picked up the phone. The caller was John. Remi excitedly picked up the phone.
"What's wrong, John? Why are you calling me so late?" Remi asked
"Remi, the situation is serious. I just spoke with my uncle, he has one last mission for us. Someone in the town of Maedi has been detected using an ability ampener. He has assigned us to look after him." John said
"WHAT? John, I thought we were fired from EMBER. Where did this mission come from?" Remi questioned
"I don't know, but there's nothing to do. Get ready quickly, I'll be waiting for you outside the school gate." John said and hung up
"Where did this come from now?" Remi put down her textbooks and got ready to meet John at the school gate. Remi wore the X-Rei costume again, while John wore the Joker mask again.
"Let's go. Let's not waste any more time." John said, and the two set off for the train station to the town of Maedi.
Maedi Town - 27.09.20XX
It was past midnight. John had given Remi the news of the mission too late, so the two went out very late.
"John, will you tell me now who our target is?" Along the way, Remi had asked John who they were chasing, but John had consistently refused to tell.
"You'll see when you go." John said
Finally, the two of them got off the train and set foot in the town of Maedi.
"Let's go." Remi hurried to the target, but John calmly stopped her.
"No need to rush." John said
The two slowly walked towards their destination. They passed the cafe where Remi met the EMBER members for the first time on their way to their destination.
"Remember this place? You met my uncle here." John said to Remi, pointing to the cafe with his index finger.
"Yes yes, let's hurry up now." Remi said
"It's okay, look, we're already here." John and Remi arrived in front of the building where they had already taken care of Winston, their first mission in this town.
"John, you're not going to tell us that our target is Winston again, are you?" Remi turned her face towards John and asked.
"I don't know, my uncle just said the mission is here. I don't know our target's name either." John replied to Remi.
"Remi, let's enter through the roof this time. Last time we entered through the front door, let's make a difference this time." John said, and without waiting for Remi to say, he activated his skill and climbed onto the roof of the building.
"JOHN WAIT!" Remi tried to shout after John, but John was already on the roof before he could make her voice heard.
'There is nothing to do.' Remi immediately followed John onto the roof of the building.
When Remi climbed onto the roof of the building, she saw John, who had taken off his mask and was holding a package. John's silhouette gleamed in the moonlight.
"John, what's going on here?" Remi asked
John slowly approached Remi. He handed the package to Remi and spoke.
"Happy birthday, Remi." John said
Remi froze at what was said.
"I-It's my birthday?" Remi forgot her date of birth after all that happened
"B-but how do you know?" Remi asked
"Remember the list Isen showed us? I learned from that list." John explained
"Aren't you going to open your present?" John said
After opening her gift, Remi saw the wallet she hadn't been able to buy on the previous trip to the mall with John, Isen and Elaine.
"Thank you, John. But why are you doing all this, I don't understand?" Remi said
John placed his hand on Remi's right cheek.
"Because I love you, Remi" John confessed
'W-what, why, how?' Remi got confused
"Are you sure John?" Remi asked one last time to confirm.
"I wasn't sure at first. But over time, as I started spending time with you, I became sure. I feel a different feeling when I spend time with you than when I spend with Sera, Remi." John continued his confession
'John loves me! John loves me! John loves me! John loves me! John loves me! John loves me! John loves me! John loves me! John loves me!' Remi's mind became even more confused.
"John, frankly, at first, after you went back to school, I didn't know what to think of you. But over time you did so much about me, you changed my life. I don't see you as an outsider in my life anymore." Remi took off her mask, mustered up her courage one last time before she said it.
"I love you too, John." Remi confessed too
Then the lips of these two young people met under the moon that illuminated the night.
