They took Feng to jail. Jing Yu said that it was better this way but Wei Zhou was worried about his mom. He knew that his step-dad would be angry and that his mom is in danger. Wei Zhou kept telling Jing Yu that as Ms. Lyn helped drag Feng away but there was something wrong with Jing Yu. Jing Yu was zoning out, his eyes are distant and his voice disconnected. They were still on the ground on their living room and people were moving around them but they kept still, Wei Zhou clinging to Jing Yu with every ounce of effort in his body,

"Jing Yu?" Wei Zhou asked while grabbing on the front of Jing Yu's shirt tighter and tugging it slightly trying to get Jing Yu look at him.

"Babe...." Jing Yu replied, staring off into the far distance.

"Jing Yu, what's wrong with you?" Wei Zhou asked, "Look at me,"

Jing Yu looked at him, his eyes full of tears. Wei Zhou hadn't seen Jing Yu cry often and Wei Zhou was confused and scared. He didn't understand what was going on with Jing Yu.

"Jing Yu..." Wei Zhou repeated calling his name.

"I'm sorry." Jing Yu replied. Wei Zhou's heart began to pound restlessly. "I'm so sorry, babe"

"For what?" Wei Zhou asked as he hugged Jing Yu.

"For all of this. For I failed to make you completely safe..."

Wei Zhou felt his tears run down his cheeks. He out his head onto Jing Yu's neck. "I am safe, Jing Yu. I am safe when I'm with you."

Once everyone was out of the apartment, Jing Yu took Wei Zhou to bed, lying him down into the duvet and wrapping him up

Once everyone was out of the apartment, Jing Yu took Wei Zhou to bed, lying him down into the duvet and wrapping him up. Wei Zhou's large brown eyes looked at him and Jing Yu couldn't contain his smile. Looking at his Wei Zhou now, after all this time, and seeing his beautiful skin without bruises and cuts, it made him feel better... like all of this was going to be worth something. He would have his Wei Zhou until the end. He would.

"Jing Yu... lay with me," Wei Zhou whispered, staring up at Jing Yu.

Jing Yu nodded and fell onto the mattress, occupying the space next to Wei Zhou, while giving him a gentle smile.

"You used to be afraid of me," Jing Yu said randomly, trying to get off that nostalgic feeling he was in. Wei Zhou giggled and scooted closer to him, nuzzling into his neck.

"I'm sorry about that. I used to be afraid of everything." Wei Zhou replied.

"I know. I know." Jing Yu said while smiling and kissing Wei Zhou's forehead.

"You know I love you, right? I would do everything for you. You saved me." Wei Zhou said.

"Babe, I am not done yet.." He replied while cooing Wei Zhou to sleep.

That's how Jing Yu found himself outside of Wei Zhou's old home, knocking on the door over and over again. Finally, someone answered. He knew he was home.

"Oh, it's you!" Wei Zhou's step-dad spat, grabbing his collar and pulling him inside. Mrs. Xu was there, sitting on the couch.

"Jing Yu! How are you and Wei Zhou liking the new apartment?" She smiled while walking over to me and pulling me into a hug.

"It's great," He replied and gave a small nod.

"Is Wei Zhou back at the apartment?" Mrs. Xu asked again.

Jing Yu nodded. He left Wei Zhou there for a reason. There was no way he would make him come back here and face his step-dad and relive his nightmares. He left Wei Zhou at home just to make this easier.

"Have they called about Feng yet?" Jing Yu asked, taking a shot in the dark.

Both the adult's faces froze in shock.

"What about my boy?" Wei Zhou's step-dad asked. As if it was on cue, the phone rang and he ran off to answer it.

"Jing Yu, what's going on?" Mrs. Xu asked.

"It's nothing." Jing Yu smiled while grabbing Mrs. Xu's arm and leading her out of the house. "Let's go see the apartment now."

It was hard to tell Mrs. Xu what her husband and step-son had been doing to Wei Zhou. It was the hardest thing he had ever had to do in his entire life. To watch as Mrs. Xu's face broke and the tears started, as she held onto Wei Zhou for dear life. Then she turned to me, and asked me why I was so amazing and why I saved her son from everything she couldn't.

"Jing Yu, You are like a son to me." Mrs. Xu cried.

Jing Yu smiled and nodded. "That's good, because I never plan on letting this one go."

Wei Zhou hopped into Jing Yu's lap and kissed his neck.

And when Mrs. Xu had to leave, both of them prayed that Wei Zhou's step-dad was not at home. They prayed that she would get herself out of the relationship quickly.

Both prayed that things would work out for the best.
