"Dad! Dad! Wake up! Wake up! We have to go!" I jumped on my dad's bed, startling him awake,

"Why?" He groaned, reaching over and turning on the lamp considering it was dark since it was 3:00 in the morning,

"Mom's in labor. My brother is being born! We have to go Dad!" I continued jumping,

"Okay okay. Let me get dressed" he finally sat up, "Make sure you have your stuff and a bag packed. We might stay at a hotel depending on what happens"

I nodded and jumped off his bed, running to my room and grabbing my backpack. I ran downstairs and waited by the garage door.

Dad laughed as he saw me standing there,

"Honey, labor goes on for hours. So we have time" he told me, grabbing his keys and guiding me out of the house,

"I thought you said I was fast?" I questioned,

"Well yeah, but that's because your mom had to have a c-section with you. You were in distress and they had to hurry up"

I nodded and buckled up.

Dad pulled out of the garage and we got on the road, stopping for coffee along the way.

My leg started bouncing as we got closer. Dad looked over and grabbed my hand,

"What's wrong?" he asked,

"What if something happens and he's not okay?" I spoke. Dad sighed and squeezed my hand,

"Everything is going to be fine princess"

I sighed but nodded as we pulled into the hospital parking lot. We waited a few minutes then got out and walked inside,

"We're looking for Jessica Mundorf. This is her daughter" Dad told the desk lady,

"Of course! Room 212" she smiled with too much energy considering it was now 5 am.

We got closer to the room and I was practically sprinting, holding a little gift bag in my hand with cute little pjs for Ollie inside. I know he's not here yet but it's exciting.

"Do you want to go in alone to do you want me to go with you?" Dad asked. I hesitated,

"Can I go alone?"

"Of course. I'm going to go to the waiting room so just come there when they kick you out or when you're ready to leave"

I nodded and turned the handle to my mom's room. I walked in and Brian looked at me almost immediately,

"Hi Kemper" Mom spoke, pointing to the chair next to the bed. I walked over and sat down, looking around the room,

"You didn't have to come," she told me, almost like she was mad I was here. She texted me and told me to come so I don't understand,

"But I wanted to meet him when he's born. And you told me to come"

She scoffed,

"Look your mom is tired. Why don't you go for a bit and let her rest" Brian said.

I was a little taken back. I thought she wanted me here,

"Go" Brian spoke, making me stand, leaving the bag I brought behind in the chair. But right before I could leave, a nurse walked in,

"Hi honey. Who might you be?" She asked me. I looked at Brian, still feeling the need to ask for permission to speak- just like I had to when I lived with them,
