WARNING: Throwing up!!!
------------------------------------------------------------Shouto's morning was off to a rough start to say the least. The poor boy had woken up with a tummy ache and a pounding headache. All he wanted to do was regress but he got called in for an important mission that he couldn't miss.
His body ached as he pulled his hero suit on. He chose to leave his apartment with nothing in his stomach, knowing that if he had eaten, it wouldn't have been in his stomach for long.
He stepped outside, wincing at the sunlight as it made his head hurt worse. Immediately, he regretted his choice of not calling in. It was going to be a long day.
Shouto ran out of sight of the villains, needing a moment to catch his breath. He turned the corner of a building, pressing his back against the cold brick. The coolness soothed him as he tried to slow his breathing. Suddenly, he felt a wave of nausea wash over him and he couldn't hold it in anymore. The boy clutched his stomach tightly as he threw up on the concrete.
It took him a few moments to regain the strength to go back into the fight. When he turned around to leave the back of the building, he felt a warm hand on his shoulder. It startled him so much that he turned around, ready to fight. The adrenaline numbing his aching body for a little while.
" Shouto, are you alright?" Was all he heard from the man holding his shoulder. He hadn't realized until now who was accompanying him in the alley. He knew that voice.
" Touya? Is that you?" He said, confusion obvious on his features. He watched as the man nodded and stepped into the light, illuminating his face. Shouto was very surprised to see the villain not attacking him.
Touya put the back of his hand to the younger boy's forehead, feeling for a fever. " Oh, honey, are you sick?" He asked, concern laced in his voice.
The use of the nickname along with the second wave of nausea hitting him like a brick, caused him to slip. Right there. In front of a villain. Big Shouto would be mortified, however, all little Shouto could do was cry. He wanted to go home.
" T-Toa! I sick!" He cried, wrapping his arms around the older's slim waist. Almost instantly, Touya's brotherly instincts kicked in and he took the crying boy into a warm embrace.
" Hey hey, Snowflake, it's ok. I've got you. Do you wanna get out of here and go lay down? Sick little boys shouldn't be working." Touya said, picking up the boy, Shouto wrapping his arms around the his neck and his legs around his waist. He bounced side to side as Shouto sobbed into his chest. All he got in response was a weak nod and a quiet " home".
Touya looked out at the fight, seeing as it had died down significantly in his absence, he decided to leave to take care of his little brother. He began walking deeper into the alley, still holding his brother koala style.
The two made their way back to Shouto's apartment where he was set on his feet in front of the door to unlock it. They walk in the door and Shoto drops the keys on his counter as they both slip off their shoes. " Come on, little one, let's get you out of those uncomfortable clothes." The raven haired man said, placing a gentle hand on his back to guide him to his bedroom.
Shouto opened the door and walked into the room, taking a seat on his bed. Touya looked in his closet for a onsie or something of the sort. Being his caregiver in the past, he knew exactly what Shouto liked when he was sick.
" Do you want your unicorn onsie, bub?" He asked, holding the onsie out to him. The boy nodded and held out his hand to take the article in it. Touya handed it to him, but soon realized that he wasn't going to be able to dress himself.
" Actually, let's get you a bath before you get changed. Then I'm gonna get you some medicine to make you feel all better, okay?" Shouto did not like the sound of that, the bath sounded fine, it was the medicine he didn't like. He whined and shook his head at the thought.
Touya knew this was coming, he had always struggled to get Shouto to take his medicine when he cared for him. Which meant he had a few tricks up his sleeve to get him to give in and take it.
After Shouto was all clean and dressed, he was placed on Touya's hip and walked to the kitchen where the medicine was kept. Shouto knew what was happening and he wasn't going to stand for it.
" No! No icky stuff, Bubba! I don wan it!" He whined, kicking his legs. The older didn't do much to acknowledge his behavior as he just sifted through the medicine in the cabinet. Finally selecting the fever reducers.
" Baby, you have to take this if you want to feel better." He reasoned with the boy. To which Shouto only turned his head. " Shouto, this is for your own good. You'll feel much better when you take it. Would you like to choose what to drink after you take it?" Touya was stern, standing his ground. He was going to get Shouto to take this medicine.
Shouto knew from his tone that he was not playing around. He knew he wouldn't win, so he caved and nodded his head. " Wan apple, please." He whispered, putting his thumb into him mouth.
" Apple juice it is. Which cup?" He opened the cabinet above the coffee maker and took out two sippy cups. One with little blue hearts, the one that Touya had bought him years before. The other with Mickey mouse painted on the front. Shouto, of course, chose the one with little blue hearts as it was his favorite.
Touya poured the medicine in the small cup and held it in front of the small boy's mouth. " Come on, baby. Open up." Shouto had a look of pure disgust on his face which Touya found quite amusing.
Against the boy's better judgment, he opened his mouth and took the medicine. " Way to go, champ. Now we can go watch movies and cuddle. Would you like that?" The little's face lit right up when he heard cuddles. He hadn't gotten big brother cuddles in years. He missed his big brother so much.
The rest of the night was spent with the two cuddled up on the couch, watching movie after movie. Eventually, Shouto fell asleep in Touya's arms. Despite him being a villain, he felt so safe in his hold.
Once Shouto was fully asleep, Touya decided it was time to go. He couldn't stay long, he knew the league would come looking for him and he would surely be arrested if one of Shouto's friends or coworkers came in.
The man left a note on the counter before he left, letting him know that he was sorry he had to go and he would come back soon to check on him. An overwhelming feeling of sadness washed over him as he stepped out of the door. Shouto wasn't the only one who missed his brother. 💛
