Kirishima grunted as he delivered the final hardened blow to the Nomu's jaw. The monster had finally been knocked out, laying limp on the ground.

Not long after, a crowd formed around the scene. TV crews and bystanders circling the heros. Tamaki was nervously fiddling with part of his hero costume as he watched the crowd thicken.

Kirishima knew his little would be nervous, so he tried his best to quickly answer a few questions before the two left. Making sure to give the press enough to satisfy their hunger for information, but just enough until they could escape.

" Butterflies." Tamaki whispered, leaning closer to his caregiver. 'Butterflies' is their code word, letting Kirishima know that the boy was slipping and needed to leave.

The redhead placed a protective arm over his shoulders, guiding him out of the crowd as he stopped to answer a question or two.

" Red Riot! Could you tell us why Suneater was needed in this battle? It seems he didn't do much." A reported asked, stopping Kirishima in his tracks. The man clenched his fist at his side and slowly turned to face her, a glare plastered on his face.

" Excuse me? Suneater is the one who warned the surrounding citizens of the Nomu's presence. In fact, he's the one who saw the Nomu coming. If he hadn't noticed, I would've gotten my head smashed in. So next time you want to comment on the presence of a hero and what they did in a battle that you didn't participate in because you were too busy butting into peoples personal lives, get your facts straight. No more questions, thank you." Kirishima finished, squeezing Tamaki's quivering shoulder protectively.

" Let's get you home, baby. You must be awfully uncomfortable in that hero costume." He said as they walked away, pushing through the thick crowd. Tamaki gave a simple nod and ducked his head. The flash from the cameras was too much for his eyes and he was starting to get a headache.

The two slipped off their shoes upon entering their shared apartment. Tamaki was still pretty shaken up from the incident and had slipped to a much younger age than normal. The collar of his shirt had somehow made its way into his mouth on the journey home.

" No, honey. Don't do that, it's icky. Let's go get your paci." Kirishima said, picking the little up and placing him comfortably on his hip. Tamaki only nodded as he bit at the skin on his bottom lip.

As they walked into their shared bedroom, Kirishima set the boy down on the bed and walked over to the dresser. He pulled out one of his shirts, big enough to swallow Tamaki whole, for him to wear. Knowing it would comfort him. Then he pulled out the little's favorite pacifier. One that he himself had decorated, covering the purple plastic in little gems and beads spelling out " little one" across the handle.

Kirishima walked to the bed where the boy sat and carefully slid the paci past Tamaki's lips. " All better?" He asked, recieving a nod in response. Tamaki looked completely worn out. His anxiety was high from the start of the battle, it only worsened with the press.

He was visibly shaking and his breathing was slowly becoming more ragged. " Hey hey, sweetheart, you're okay. We're home now, you're safe. It's alright. Breathe with me, baby." Kirishima said, sitting down next to his little. He pulled him into his lap and held the boy's head to his chest, letting him hear his heartbeat and mimic his breathing.

The boy began to copy his caregiver's breathing pattern and he began to calm down. " That's it, honey. You're doing so well, daddy is so proud of you." He said, encouraging his little.

" Daddy?" A meak voice spoke.

" Yes, baby?"

"Maki help? The lady said Maki no help." He whimpered. The reporter really got to him. He thought he had done his best! Was his best not good enough?

Kirishima frowned at this, knowing it would take a while to convince him that the reporter was out of place and incorrect. " Oh, baby, Maki was very helpful! He did his very best, right?" A silent nod.

" So if Maki did his very best, he was very helpful. You helped lots and lots of people get to safety today." The redhead said, softly running his fingers through his little's hair. He was going to have to have a talk with the employers of that reporter. His baby was hurt, and he would not stand for that.

" Pinky promise?" Tamaki said, holding out his Pinky for Kirishima to link with his own.

" Pinky promise, kiddo. Daddy is very proud of you for your work today. You did very well. In fact, I think that deserves a sticker on the good boy chart. Maybe even some ice cream after dinner." The little's eyes lit up at the reward. If there was anything Tamaki loved more than Kirishima, it would be ice cream.

Kirishima chuckled at the face the boy was making. He could tell just how excited he was and he felt accomplished for being the one to put that smile back on his face. " But first, let's get you a bath." He said, picking the boy up.

After Tamaki was squeaky clean and had a full tummy, Kirishima served him up the biggest bowl of ice cream he could. To be fair, he gave him the smallest bowl they owned and only gave him two scoops, but it was all the same to the little. He got ice cream, and his caregiver didn't have to deal with a sugar rush.

" Feel better, kiddo?" Kirishima asked, as he placed the ice cream back in the freezer. Not before fixing himself a bowl, of course. Tamaki gave him the most adorable smile Kirishima had ever seen, making his heart skip a beat at the cuteness.

The redhead chuckled and joined his little at the kitchen table. He ruffled his hair and gave him a kiss on his forehead. How did I get so lucky?💛
