CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

HALOS liparin ni Queen Sofia ang daan patungo kay Caleb pagkakita rito. Ngunit napahinto rin ito kaagad nang tutukan ito ng espada sa leeg ng binatilyo.

They are all startled at what he did. Marcus and Clark suddenly went on alert.

"Put that sword down if you want to keep that arm intact." Utos ng isa pang malakas na tinig mula sa likuran ni Queen Sofia.

They saw her beloved, King Zafrix, standing behind her. He looked murderous and low warning growls are vibrating from his chest. Halatang hindi nito nagustuhan ang isinalubong ni Caleb kay Queen Sofia. But the queen only put a hand on his chest to stop him from doing whatever is running in his mind. She doesn't even look scared at the fact that the tip of the blade is almost touching her neck.

"Hindi mo ba ako nakikilala?" asked Sofia in a rush. "We've met before."

Caleb only answered her with a sharp gaze.

"You remember? I am Kylum's mother."

"I do," Caleb answered, his eyes narrowed. "You made those royal guards follow me everywhere I go."

Nagliwanag ang itsura ni Sofia kahit na pa matalim ang ginamit na tono dito ni Caleb.

"I only did that because I wanted to confirm something. I wanted to know if you are doing alright." Tila mas lalo lamabg hindi natuwa si Caleb sa sinabi nito dahil sa paninilim ng anyo nito. Sofia continued. "I recognized you since that day. Ikaw si Patrick. Ikaw ang nawawala kong kapatid. I ran as fast as I can as soon as I learned that you are here. We've been looking for you for so many years." Her voice broke at the end of her line.

Zenaia's heart ached for the queen. She could see the pain and desperation in her green eyes as she spoke those words.

Caleb's eyes only sharpened with contempt. "I don't have a sibling as far as I can remember." Malamig nitong tugon.

Hate. That's what Zenaia caught in the tone of his voice.

Caleb hates the Queen of Werewolves.

They all saw the pain crossing Queen Sofia's eyes because of what Caleb had said. Mas lalong nag-alala si Zenaia dahil kay King Zafrix. He's looking restless and his eyes have turned inky black.

"We're not blood-related but we grew up together," Sofia continued to explain. "Can't you remember? Miranda and Edward are your parents. I was the one who took care of you and raised you as my own little brother."

Caleb's jaw clenched when he answered through gritted teeth. "I think you've got the wrong person, your highness."

"Sofia, tama na muna 'yan," pigil ni King Zafrix sa beloved nito. He looked really angry. "I think we're wrong this time." Madilim ang anyo nito at halatang malapit nang maubusan ng pasensya.

"Sofia," tawag ni Glory. Bakas sa itsura nito na naaawa ito para sa kaniya. Alangan itong sumulyap kay Caleb bago muling tumingin kay Sofia. "He's not Patrick. I think I was only mistaken earlier. Yes, kamukhang-kamukha nga niya ang kapatid mo pero hindi siya si Patrick. He died years ago because of Vein's experiment. And you know how Patrick loves you. He wouldn't try to hurt you whatever the reason is."
