Oh, Father tell me, do we get what we deserve?
Whoa, we get what we deserve~~~~~
Louis was taking his notes when his phone rang, the teacher glared at him and Louis quickly silenced it
But frowned when he saw it was his mum
He cleared his throat and raised his hand
"Can I be excused for a moment?"
The teacher rolled her eyes and nodded
Louis stepped outside and answered his phone
"Mum??"
"Lou.... Love, can you come home?"
~~~~~
He was about to open the door when it was yanked open, his father pulled him inside and closed the door
Louis frowned and let out a huff when his father threw an arm around his shoulder
"Shouldn't you be at work?"
"Not today Louis.... I'm even surprised you went to school"
Louis frowned "Why would you be surprised? I don't miss unless I have a written reason"
"Today's your grandfather's will reading."
Louis tensed and shivered "Already...?"
"It's been 6 months Louis" His father said with an eye roll
Louis shrugged his dad's arm off "I still don't understand why I need to be here"
His father sighed "The lawyer asked for you specifically"
Louis opened his father's study, where his mother was quietly seated in her scrubs, and his grandfather's lawyer sitting across from the sofa that's there
Louis sat down between both of his parents and the lawyer frowned
"I'd like to speak to Mr. Louis Tomlinson alone please"
His father frowned but his mother stood up and walked outside
She seemed sad but Louis didn't get a chance to stop her and ask her if she's ok
She stood by the door and gave her husband a look
He huffed and stood up, then walked out
The door closed and the lawyer pulled out a picture
He looked at it, then at Louis then at the picture again
He gave Louis the picture and joined his hands on the table
"Do you have the second half of this picture"
Louis looked at it and smiled, it was the picture of Little Louis with his hands up high and a big smile
"Yeah.... I keep it in my wallet" He frowned "My grandfather tore it in half when he was in the hospital... I never understood why"
"Can you give me the second half?"
Louis opened his wallet and pulled out the second half
It was his grandfather, holding Louis' legs as Louis sat on his grandfather's shoulders
The lawyer put them together and nodded, he then pulled out a Walkman and handed it over to Louis
"I'd recommend headphones...."
Louis quickly nodded and rushed to his bedroom, all his family were huddled by the door as he ran out and ran back inside with the headphones
He closed the door and sat down, he showed it to the lawyer who nodded
He plugged it in and put them on
"You-"
"He taught me how.... I know how to use it"
The lawyer nodded and sat back as Louis pressed play
"Hello Louis.... I hope you don't miss me too much"
~~~~~
By the end, Louis was in tears. The lawyer who seemed to have a stiff face frowned and looked at his hands
"I'm... I'm sorry Mr. Tomlinson"
Louis let out a sad laugh "I for sure hope you aren't apologising because you did something"
"Do.... Do you want me to call your parents inside?"
Louis leaned back and nodded, his parents walked inside, his mother seemed to let her hair down and his father has loosened his tie
They sat down and the lawyer looked at Louis
"Would you like me to read it out"
Louis wiped his face then nodded
Louis watched as the smile on his father's face fell
Louis got it all, he was the sole inheritor.
"How-How is that possible??"
"Maybe because you were refusing him treatment."
"Louis-"
"Did you even visit him? You showed up late to his funeral!! You deserve nothing"
His father scowled "We took him in when he was nothing but a brain on a bag of bones"
"He was paying for everything.... All our schooling, all the bills and you still have the fucking nerve to call him a brain on a bag of bones"
With that information, even Louis' mother seemed shocked
The lawyer cleared his throat and looked at Louis
"I still need to ask you this Mr. Tomlinson, but would-"
"Yes. Yes like to take it all"
