Liam took a deep breath before he opened the door
He looked at his sister who was sitting there, looking around while licking her dry lips
He took notice of how much her hair has thinned, and how pale she's gotten
Her eyes met Liam's and she frowned then glared
She tried to jump at him but her hands were chained to the table and her legs were shackled
Liam didn't move or flinch away, he didn't know why but he didn't even blink
He sat down across from her and joined his hands on the table
"When is their birthday?"
She stayed quiet and Liam looked at the officers and nodded out the door
They nodded and walked out without a second thought
Zayn walked in once they were out and closed the door quietly
He stood behind Liam's chair and put a needle on the table
"You get it-" She tried to reach it but Liam immediately pulled it away "If you tell us everything we need to know"
She huffed and nodded
Liam put the needle down, now closer to him than to her before he crossed his arms "When is their birthday?"
She sighed and shrugged "I dunno.... June"
Liam frowned "What do you mean you don't know?"
She turned to Liam with a glare "I was high most of the time, I don't even know what year we are in now"
Liam rubbed his face and sighed before he looked at her again "How were they born if you didn't come to the hospital?"
She had her eyes on the needle "A friend of mine had a lab, it has everything you need to do hospital stuff"
Liam frowned "Meaning?"
"He's a sketchy doctor Liam, you're with a Malik you should know-" She stopped when Liam tapped the needle at the edge of the table
"It's glass. One wrong move and all of it is gone"
She whined and huffed
"Now tell me, What else does he do?"
"Sketchy procedures. Sketchy experiments. Sketchy stuff in general"
"Were the kids part of his experiments?"
"Yes"
Liam frowned and his shoulders fell "What's his name?"
"Paul"
Liam looked at Zayn and Zayn nodded before Liam looked at her
"Who's their father?"
She looked at Zayn and Liam snorted
"Don't even try lying. Who is it?"
She sighed "He's dead"
Liam slowly nodded "Anything we should know about"
"All the money you've ever given me was used on drugs and didn't use anything on the kids"
Liam nodded slowly "I figured" He mumbled before he tipped the needle over the edge of the table as he stood up
Letting it fall on the floor and break, the liquid inside splashing on the floor
"NO!!"
She screamed and thrashed as she tried to fight
Liam stood there blinking "You're an absolute idiot. That was water in that syringe"
She stopped and looked at Liam, glaring at him "You tricked me"
Liam shrugged "You drugged and malnourished kids, guess who did a worse crime?"
Liam then pulled a gun out of Zayn's holster and aimed it at her
"Want us to be even?"
She froze and put her head down, thinking that would stop him
But it wasn't
Zayn stopped him, he put a hand on the gun, shook his head before taking it from Liam
Liam wanted to fight for it but Zayn just took Liam's hand and him out of the interrogation room
"Why didn't you-"
Zayn shook his head "Because hurting your family is something you can never let go of.... If you shoot her today, I know you won't came back from it"
Liam frowned "You hurt Tony...."
Zayn shook his head "I wasn't raised with him"

Little Liam quickly ran across the hall into his big sisters room, he opened the door and frowned seeing her still asleep
"Ru" He whispered "Ru" He whispered slightly louder
She slowly woke up and frowned "Liam?" She mumbled half asleep "Go back to bed we'll play when I wake up"
He quickly shook his head "I can't" he whispered
She frowned "Why?"
Just then a loud noise was heard and she jumped "What was that?"
Liam shrugged "I dunno.... I don't want to sleep in my room, can I stay with you?"
She nodded and helped Liam into her bed, he cuddled up to her and she frowned
"How long have you been awake?"
Liam shrugged weakly "I-I tried to wake mummy and dad up but dad just told me to try and uhh-" Liam frowned "Get over it"
She frowned and sighed
His puppy brown eyes looked up and into hers "You will always be here, right?"
She smiled and nodded "You will never go through anything alone"
Liam looked out the window as Zayn drove and frowned
Zayn squeezed Liam's hand and Liam gave him a squeeze back
"She lied.... A lot, I don't know why I believed her"
Zayn shrugged "It happens Liam. Your heart works like that"
Liam sighed and looked at his and Zayn's hands
When they stopped at a stop light, Zayn brought Liam's hand to his lips and kissed them
Liam smiled before Zayn spoke again
"And that's what I love the most about you"

"Names"
Liam fiddled with his thumbs "The girl is Estrella, the boy is Connor"
"Late name"
Liam stayed quiet and looked at Zayn who smiled and nodded, Liam smiled then turned towards the nurse
"Malik"
She smiled and nodded "Any idea on.... The date of birth"
Zayn nodded "June 10th"
Liam and the nurse both turned to Zayn and the nurse frowned "Are you certain?"
Zayn nodded "Yes."
Liam frowned "How?"
Zayn raised both eyebrows and Liam had to hold back a laugh
He knew the building suddenly setting on fire wasn't an accident
The nurse smiled and nodded, she gave them both each certificate
Liam signed Connor's first, while Zayn just looked at Estrella's for a moment before he signed it
