*Diana's pov*

I felt dazed. I left Hogwarts and came back to Mystic Falls. I had been staying in my house while I was here. Caroline compelled the landlord so that I can keep the house. Elena and Caroline had actually put my name on the deed t the house. It was Grams's house, then mom's, now mine.

Mom's funeral was low-key. It had only been Lizzie, Josie, Alaric, Damon, Elena, Caroline, and to my surprise Matt Donovan. It was depressing, how could it not be? But no one wanted to tell me anything about how or why she died. After two straight weeks of prying I gave up. I looked into it further but Caroline had cut any and all ties to Bonnie's death.

Today was my fourth week back home. Making it exactly one month since I left Hogwarts. Today was also my fifth time visiting my parents's grave. Also depressing, I know, but Elena said it helped her when her parents died to visit the graveyard and write in a diary, which is what I decided to try out today.

I had no idea that dad got a funeral. I doubt he did, mom never confirmed nor denied anything. But seeing as Enzo died by Stefan and then it was all "let's save the town from hell fire" and then have a funeral for the savior of our town. Mom must have buried an empty casket, for her own sanity.

I remember mom telling me that her mom had used magic to burn dad's corpse. Since apparently it had black magic that was drawing Bonnie to do crazy things. I understand why it had been done, if that's the case, but I still think that he deserved a proper funeral even if it was just an empty casket.

Maybe I'm biased seeing as Enzo is my father but from what I know he changed for the better. But that still didn't stop Stefan from killing him without hesitation. With or without humanity I will never forgive him for that. I don't care if Stefan died saving the town, he had done terrible things, everyone's done awful things, I know, but that doesn't make him neither a hero or a villain.

Damon, Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, Enzo, Damon, they've all killed. Some more than others and whether or not those kills were in vein, revenge, for fun, or to save the day, death is still death. Whether or not you can bring them back to life it doesn't change the fact that they were once or still are dead. Murder is murder in my book. Self defense, that's a whole other situation. But no humanity murder sprees, Ripper vampire kills, sacrificing one life to save other people's lives, it all still death.

Did some deserve it? Like the Travelers, Sirens, Cade, Katherine? They were evil, yes. Did they deserve to be punished? Obviously. And when push came to shove, yes Katherine's death saved the town but everything could have easily been avoided if the Salvatore brothers never came back to Mystic Falls.

I had to stop writing when my pencil snapped from the applied pressure. I looked around, reading the names on some of the tombstones. "Salvatore" "Bonnie Bennett" "Enzo St. John". It was making me feel uneasy. So I shifted my thoughts to something else.

I had promised Ron that I'd go and find him, Hermione, and Harry, which I intended on doing just not yet. Hermione gave me a necklace that her mom gifted her, this was I could use the necklace for a locator spell.

Thinking about it maybe it was about time I joined the Golden Trio in their Horcrux hunt or whatever else they were doing. It would distract me from thinking about how both my parents are dead and that I know nothing on why my mom is dead.

Standing up from the ground, I almost instantly tripped on the edge of a tombstone. I grabbed my diary and then walked out of the cemetery. The day seemed to match my mood. Cloudy, cold, and depressing. Surprising seeing as it was early August. I walked back to my house, with every step closer to the door my anxiety grew.
