~Summer before fifth year~
"What the fuck?!" Diana shouted in an irritated tone as Lizzie and Josie had dumped an entire gallon of blue paint on her head. "Happy birthday!" the Saltzman twins said with beaming eyes. "You're house is the blue one, right?" Josie asked. Diana wiped away some paint so it didn't get in her eyes, "It's the red and gold one. Blue and copper is Ravenclaw".
"Well Ravenclaws are smart and you're smart so you can be an honorary member" Lizzie said. "So what are we doing for your birthday?" Lizzie then asked. "Nothing" Diana answered as she got up from the town bench that was now coated n blue paint.
"But It's your birthday" Josie whined. "I'm well aware. But I'm also aware that my mom is in a coma like state, I'm having visions, and my friends from school are kinda freaking out at the moment. So I'd say my birthday is cancelled this year" Diana told the girls, wiping their excitement off their faces.
"You can't cancel your birthday" Lizzie said in a rather "obviously" type tone.
"I don't want a party. So cancel the one you were planning on surprising me with" Diana said as casted a spell and cleaned herself up. "You're no fun" Lizzie complained. "Would you be in a partying mood if Caroline was in an inexplicable coma?" Diana raised an eyebrow.
"Fair enough" Lizzie sighed in defeat. "Can we at least do something today? You're fifteen and have no birthday wish?" Lizzie asked. "My only "wish" is to know how my mom is doing and to finally figure out theses visions that are only scaring me" Diana said with a blank expression. She wasn't sure what she was feeling other than anger. But Diana being who she is decided to hide it unless it was Lizzie.
Hermione, Harry, and Ron had been writing to her over the summer. Diana would write them back and lie about activities she was doing with Bonnie but in reality Diana spent the summer in her dorm room in the Salvatore Boarding school reading on visions, anything that would help her.
She only cried at night. She would have the same vision of Bonnie and if not the vision she'd dream Bonnie's death. It was awful seeing as no matter what she saw her mother's tombstone and could feel her self growing more anxious and angry. She didn't know who she was angry at. She was just mad.
"You haven't found anything in the thousands of books you've read?" Josie asked exaggerating the number. "I only read twenty two" Diana said. "And in those twenty two you've found nothing?" Lizzie asked.
"Barley anything if I'm being honest. From what I read these visions happen when I'm feeling a strong emotion. But half the time they also just randomly happened" Diana told the twins. "I have an idea... It might land us back in Matt Donovan's cop car" Josie said, grabbing the attention of Diana and Lizzie.

"And you are?" the nurse asked Lizzie and Josie. "Here to see Bonnie Shelia Bennett. Room 301" Lizzie said. "How old are you two? You surely can't be eighteen" the nurse said with a raised eyebrow. "We're eighteen. We just have baby faces" Josie said. "I'm going to need to see some ID seeing as neither of you are accompanied by an adult" the nurse said rather impatiently.
"Motus" Diana said quietly from behind the wall, she had been hiding. A crash was heard in the back room and the nurse said, "I'll be right back. Don't you move". Josie made sure the coast was clear before signaling for Diana and Lizzie to run.
Yes they could have used invisibility magic but they preferred doing it like normal teenagers just to have a little bit more fun.
"Go, go, go" Josie said, Lizzie grabbed Diana's wrist and the three of them ran towards room 301. They made it to the room only to see Damon and Elena in the room compelling a doctor. "You've got to be kidding me" Lizzie groaned.
The three of them hid in the room beside them. "Hey!" the patient in the room said. "Sorry" the three girls said in unison and ran out of the room. Once Damon and Elena had left Bonnie's room the girls entered. "She's perfectly fine but she's literally in a magical coma. Just like Elena was way back when" Lizzie told Diana. Diana walked up to her mom and grabbed her hand.
"You shouldn't be here. You can't be here" Bonnie told Diana. "What's going on? You've been in this coma for months" Diana said. "A deal was made with someone dangerous. I got caught in the crossfire and now I'm here. But don't worry. Caroline, Elena, and Damon will figure this out. They always do" said Bonnie. "With your help" Diana said.
"I've died and come back to life before" Bonnie reminded her. "The other side doesn't exist anymore. If you die, you die. I can't- please don't leave me" Diana said. Bonnie opened her mouth to speak...
"What are you doing? I was speaking to her. Josie, what the hell?!" Diana said. "You can't be here. You two know this. Why bring Diana here?" Elena asked the twins. "You've been lying to me for months. You said she was getting better but instead she's dying" Diana said getting angry.
"She'll be okay" Damon told Diana. "Bullshit. You don't know what's wrong with her. And she got caught in the crossfire of some deal. And I'm almost certain the deal had something to do with Elena. It's always about Elena" Diana snapped and then stormed out of the room.
"She doesn't mean that. She's just angry and doesn't know who to take it out on" Damon told Elena. Elena started crying from the guilt, "It's my fault. Bonnie's dying and it's my fault".
Damon signaled for Lizzie and Josie to leave. He secretly passed Josie some money and whispered "give it to Diana, for her birthday". Josie nodded and walked towards Diana who was across the hall, her hand in fists as she tried not to cry.
"Damon gave you some birthday money" Josie said and handed her the money. Diana starred at it before taking it and grabbing both the girl's wrists and dragging them out of the hospital. "I'm suddenly in the mood to raid Damon's bourbon cabinet" Diana muttered. Lizzie smirked and Josie shook her head but went along with it anyway.

After the second bottle of bourbon Damon and Elena arrived to their house to find the Saltzman's passed out and Diana sitting on the kitchen counter eating ice cream. "How's was your crying session, Elena? Get all the guilt out of you?" Diana asked in annoyance.
"Are you drunk?" Damon asked her, noticing the empty bottle of bourbon next to the girl. "I don't know, mom. Am I?" Diana responded.
"You're fifteen, Diana" Elena reminded her. "I'm aware" Diana said as she continued eating the ice cream. "If Bonnie were here-" Elena began, "Bonnie would be here id she wasn't always the one sacrificing things for you. If she dies that's on you because this time there's no bringing her back".
"Diana, go up to Stefanie's room. I guess you three are spending the night now" Damon sighed. When Diana didn't move he said, "Please, don't make me call Caroline. She'll kill me". Diana rolled her eyes and then got off the counter and went up to Stefanie Salvatore's bedroom.

Summer flew by quick for Diana. She didn't want to leave Mystic Falls seeing as her mom was close to death for no reason she knew of. When she flew all the way to London instead of just using magic to get there (Damon bought her the plane ticket as he felt bad for her). When Diana made it to the platform and boarded she was not surprised to see the Golden Trio awaiting her in a compartment.
Although the trio looked less cheery and excited than previous year. More than likely because everything was different now. Harry explained the hearing at the Ministry and everything that was going on with that situation, Hermione and Ron talked about the Order of the Phoenix most of the train ride as well.
Diana had also finally decided to explain everything to them starting with the Bennett bloodline and ending with the Original Vampires of New Orleans. The believed every single word she said and were somewhat relieved to finally have known the truth after two years of nothing.
