I can't believe you used your magic to help your little boyfriend. What if you got caught? You clearly didn't think it through but then again I would have done the same thing... Have you told Bonnie? Besides, Lizzie broke into my dad's office and checked his calender and it seems that he had "important errands with Damon" marked a week from now. Lizzie thinks these errands could be related to Klaus and my mom's supposed wedding. But I'm not sure what to think. Has Damon sent you any letters mentioning anything? Write me back soon, please.
-Josie S

Diana read the letter Josie had sent her as she made her way to the Gryffindor table. "Ron, you seem to have yourself a little assistant..." Diana said as she saw a little blonde boy skip away joyfully.

"That was Niguel. A boy that Ron promised he'd give his autograph to in exchange to be his mailboy" Hermione said with a glare.

Diana smacked him over the head with Josie's letter as she sat down in between Harry and Ron. "You can't use your best friend as a way to get an eleven year old to do things for you" Diana told Ron.

"Thank you" Harry said, "Precisely" Hermione smiled.

"Oh look, mum sent me something" Ron said ignoring the looks from his three closest friends. "She sent you a dress?" Diana asked while holding back laughter. "Looks like it. But she must have sent it to the wrong Weasley" Ron said and walked over to his sister.

"Ginny, these must be for you" Ron said. "I'm not wearing that it's ghastly. Besides, I think it'll suit you best, Ronald" Ginny told her older brother.

Hermione started laughing, "what are you on about?" Ron asked turning back around and shoving the dress robes back in the box. "They're not for Ginny! They're for you" Hermione laughed and handed him the card from Molly Weasley.

"Ha!" Ginny said and pointed her fork at Ron, "let's see if that ghastly outfit really does suit you best. Can't wait to get a laugh or two, most likely ten, at whatever event you'll be wearing that at".

"Dress robes?" Ron asked, reading the card and ignoring his sister. "For what?" Ron asked, Harry shrugged and went back to eating. Hermione and Dian did the same, leaving Ron with a rather bewildered expression.

"The Yule Ball has been a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament since it's inception" McGonagall began telling the students. "On Christmas Eve night, we and our guests must gather in the Great Hall for a night of well mannered frivolity" she continued and paused "as representatives of the host school, I expect each and everyone of you to put you best foot forward".

"I mean this literally because the Yule Ball is first and foremost a dance"

With that piece of information whispers filled the room. The girls side being filled with excitement and saying such things as "How wonderful!", "So romantic", and "I can't wait".

While the boys side was filled with groans and "ugh!", "this is so stupid", and "I have to wear a tie".

The only person to be having somewhat of a blank expression was Diana Bennett. Seeing as she wasn't the biggest fan of Christmas or Christmas Eve, nonetheless a dance on either night.

"I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling, band of baboons" McGonagall told everyone.

Afterwards McGonagall had Ron dance with her as demonstration for the class and everyone held in their laughter.

Until everyone came together to dance. Not that the boys really wanted to. "Go dance with Harry" Hermione told Diana. "I really don't think that's the best-" Diana began.

"Dance with me?" Harry asked her as he walked up to Diana.

"Sure" Diana said and glared at Hermione, who had a smile with a hint of evil in her eye.

No one knew what they were doing other than Diana. "How are you good at this?" Harry asked as Diana seemed to know what she was doing.

"My aunt Caroline's been teaching me since I was nine and the summer I spent in New Orleans Rebekah taught me all about this stuff" Diana told him.

"Who teaches a nine year old to waltz?" Harry joked.

"Oh you don't know Caroline Forbes-Salvatore... potentially Mikaelson" Diana said the last two words rather quietly.

"Seems she taught you well" Harry said as he spun Diana around. "Well enough that I can teach you" Diana said. "Why teach me?" Harry asked. "Have you forgotten you are one of the champions, meaning you have the opening dance number" Diana reminded him.

"You'd really teach me?" Harry asked. "Sure, why not? Unless you'd prefer to embarrass yourself during the opening dance number at the ball" she joked.

"No, no, please help me. I'd be the best thing that could happen, as of right now" Harry said.

When the music stopped Diana was dragged away by Hermione and Harry was dragged away by Ron.

"Adorable" Ron told Harry and Hermione told Diana. "Oh shut up" Harry told Ron and Diana told Hermione.

Lizzie,
Okay so I might or might not have offered to help a friend of mine to teach him how to dance for the upcoming ball... I blame you for this. If you hadn't dragged me to Miss Mystic Falls dance lessons I wouldn't be in this situation since I wouldn't be able to dance well.
I also blame Caroline for teaching me for the past four years.the dance itself is on Christmas Eve... so I will not be attending so tell my mom to not send me the dress because I will not be going. Don't you dare try and convince me otherwise because you know I despise the winter holidays.
-Diana

"You despise Christmas?!" Hermione asked in utter disbelief. "Your were reading the letter I was writing?" Diana asked with a raised eyebrow even though she knew the answer. "Why don't you like Christmas? Everyone loves Christmas" Hermione said as she slumped down on her bed.

"Other than those who don't celebrate it" Diana said rather quietly. "Do you not celebrate it?" Hermione asked. "Oh, I do. I just prefer not to" Diana told her then paused for a moment.

"It's going to sound rather stupid but the last Christmas my mom had with my dad was less than ideal. My dad and uncle Damon had made certain deals they couldn't get out of and it was hard on everyone. It was shortly after the holidays that they became free of their deal and not long after my dad was murdered by Damon's brother. My aunts Caroline and Elena always tell me how selfless my mom was when it came to magic and sacrifices, I don't find it fair that she didn't get her happy ending. After that whole thing my aunts said my mom was never really the same for Christmas, although she tried to be".

Hermione found herself at a loss of words. She had no idea what to say so instead she just went over to Diana and hugged her.

"Has anyone asked you to the ball?" Diana asked Hermione. "Viktor Krum asked me earlier" Hermione said slowly waiting for Diana's reaction. "Please tell me you said no" Diana said. "I said no, don't worry. I don't want to go with that thickhead" Hermione said.

"You want to go with him instead" Diana said and Hermione nodded.

"I mean no. Not like that. As friends. Ron would never ask me to the ball anyway" Hermione said rather quickly. "I never said it was Ron I just said 'him'... You want to go with Ron! Aww that's so cute" Diana said and Hermione hit her with a pillow.

"I don't need the entire dorm to know" Hermione said. "We are the only ones in here lovergirl!" Diana told her nand Hermione rolled her eyes "still".
