Diana had been able to fix the windows of the Mikaelson-Gerard mansion with her magic. She put a barrier spell on it as well as she didn't want another surprise from Death Eaters. "I don't understand how some emo wizards with sticks found you guys" Davina Claire said as she helped set the table.

"Locater spell?" Kol asked. "We can't do locater spells" Ron said, to which Kol nodded but still turned to Diana to be certain, to which she nodded.

"Can we forget about it for the day. It's Christmas and I feel like enjoying it" Rebekah said as she walked in. "I should warn you that-" Klaus said as quickly as he could but was cut off "Diana Aubrey Bennett" Caroline said in her motherly tone. 'Oh, fuck' Diana thought to herself.

"Caroline and the twins are here" Elijah finished for Klaus even though now it was too late. "Thanks, Elijah. It's not like she's standing right in front of me" Diana said sarcastically, to which Elijah simply straightened up his tie and walked off.

"What are you doing in New Orleans?" Josie asked, not seeing the Mikaelson's signaling 'no'. "It's Christmas and I-" Lizzie didn't get a chance to finish before Caroline covered her mouth and whispered something in her daughter's ear.

'Even if I hadn't left to help, they wouldn't have asked me to spend Christmas with them... that's why they're surprised to see me. I wasn't invited and wasn't going to be invited' Diana thought as she slowly made her way out of the French Quarter.

Ronn seemed to be the only one to notice that Diana had left. He followed the girl out and found her seated on the ground of an alleyway. "Suppose this would be the time in a movie where we would get jumped" Ron joked, causing Diana to roll her eyes in a joking manner.

"What's wrong?" Ron then asked. "If you hadn't picked up the obvious, I wasn't wanted here. The Mikaelson's didn't want me over for the Holidays, whether or not I was back in Mystic Falls or not. Caroline clearly wasn't going to tell me and neither were the twins" Diana answered. "What about your mom? She'd want you home for Christmas. We can use the port key and go to Mystic Falls for the day" Ron offered.

Diana fought back tears by digging her nails into the palm of her hands. "My mom is..." Diana trailed off not wanting to say the last word of the sentence.

"There you are! I'm so happy you're here" Hope Mikaelson said as she made her way over to Diana and helped her up to only then pull her into a hug. Hope smiled as she pulled away from the hug. "We could have used your help back at the Salvatore school" Hope said her gaze slightly shifting

Only then did Hope notice the red haired boy that practically towered over the girls. "Let me guess... Ron?" Hope asked, Ron nodded. "Hope Mikaelson" Hope said, "Ron Weasley" he said as he shook her hand.

"Let's get back to the French Quarter. We are going to start dinner soon" Hope said as she began walking out of the alleyway. "I'm not feeling so good right now, Hope. Tell Rebekah and Marcel thank you for letting us stay at their house but it's about time we go" Diana said. "And I'm leaving because it'd be odd for a stranger to have dinner with the Original family" Ron said as he followed Diana.

Hope watched Diana walk away, having the choice to follow her and convince her to stay but instead she sighed mumbled "Invisique"

The pair made it back to Rebekah and Marcel's house, walking straight to their individual rooms to get their things. "And back to reality" Ron sighed. "It was going to happen eventually" Diana shrugged. "You can stay you know" he told her. "I'm not leaving you" she said.

"I don't feel quite ready to go back yet" Ron said as they walked out the door. "I'm not leaving you" Diana repeated. "I know you aren't. Which is why I'm leaving you" Ron said. "What are y-" Diana didn't get a chance to finish before Hope said "Ad Somnum" and Diana fell to the ground unconscious.

"You're Hope, right? The witch?" Ron asked rather rushed. "Much more than just a witch but yes... why?" Hope asked with a raised eyebrow. "Diana's one of my best friends and I don't want to put her in any kind of danger. But I think I've done the opposite in some way. She'll be a lot safer in New Orleans with vampire, witches, and god knows what else to keep her safe" Ron said.

"You're leaving?" Hope asked. "For her own safety, yes" Ron answered. "What part do I play in this?" she asked, "there's a spell to knock people unconscious... cast that spell on her so she can't follow me because knowing her, she'd come with me to ensure my safety"  Ron said.

Hope got down and unclasped Diana's necklace and handed it to Ron. "You sure this is the port key?" Hope asked as she handed Ron the necklace. "Positive" he nodded. Hope dug around in Diana's bag until she found the vials of Rebekah's blood, she handed them to Ron, who slipped the vials into his pocket.

Ron saw Diana's wand on in Diana's jean pocket and pulled it out. "What are you doing?" Hope asked. "By any mean necessary" Ron mumbled as he snapped Diana's wand in half. "Better to be safe than sorry" he said.

"You sure about this? You'll be a lot safer with her" Hope said, Ron nodded and Hope shrugged. He then used the port key and left, leaving Hope alone with unconscious Diana. Hope said the spell to undo the sleep and Diana's eyes opened and glowed blue, "ventus" Diana said as she blasted Hope back into a wall.

"What the hell?!" Hope groaned as she got up off the ground. "Why would you do that?! Now Ron's left alone" Diana asked. "Yeah, that was the whole point" Hope said, "Hope!" Diana raised her voice. "He asked me to help him. Now this way you'll be safe here" she told the Bennett witch.

"I'm not leaving my friends, Hope" Diana said as she went to grab her necklace which was no longer around her neck. "I gave him the necklace so that he could leave" Hope said. "That was my mother's necklace. She got it from her Grams who then got it from her mother and so on for years" Diana said as she once again found herself digging her nails into her palms.

"It's just a necklace" Hope said. "Then give me yours" Diana said, knowing Hope wouldn't. "My aunt Rebekah gave this to me. It was originally my grandmother's. I wouldn't give it up even if my life depended on it" Hope said.

"And yet you give away my very important necklace that's been in the Bennett witch generation for centuries?" Diana exhaled as she shook her head. "Diana, I-" Hope began but was cut off by Diana, "It's fine. It's already gone anyway. I'll get it back" she said as she swung her bag over her shoulder, noticing her broken wand, this only making her angrier.

"Ad so-" Hope began saying but was cut off by Diana "incendia" she said with the flames turning blue and completely distracting Hope as she used her werewolf abilities to jump up higher and over the fire, which dialed down once Diana was out of view to Hope.

Diana walked for days on end. She had tracked Hermione down with a locater spell and was on her way to where she was. Seeing as Ron had her necklace port key Diana had to do most of the walking by foot. She could use her own magic to go faster but she had figured out that the way the Death Eater's found her was because of her magic. Seeing as Voldemort wanted Diana for her magic he was able to track her every time she used it.

Diana kept wanting to lose hope and just stay in the nearest village or house she saw but the thought of her friends getting hurt was pushing her to keep going. After day four of walking Diana got so bored and at one point delusional that she began talking to herself pretending that Bonnie and Enzo were there with her.

"If you give up, I won't have anything left to hold onto. Please don't give up" Bonnie's hallucination told her daughter. "You're getting closer. One step closer to your friends and then to saving the wizarding world" Enzo's hallucination told Diana.

"We are so proud of you" was the last thing Diana's delusion's told her. Diana was to a point where she was completely loosing it. 'No parents, no friends, putting people at risk, death, destruction' was all Diana thought as she continued walking.

Diana pulled out her vial of Rebekah's blood, the only vial she had kept in her pocket for emergencies. Diana drank the vial and then stood still for a moment. "Now or never, right?" she asked herself as she pulled a pocket knife out of her bag and aimed the blade at her wrists.
