(Y/n) POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sit on the sofa, eyes wide with the horror of what just happened, meanwhile, Lady dimitrescu is sitting beside me with a red chalice...i don't wanna know what's in it.
"Well, it looks like i have won that wager, which means...?"
Lady dimitrescu pauses.
I don't say a word, it all comes crashing down on me as i tear up.
"Oh, dear.."
Lady dimitrescu coos, putting a hand on my cheek.
"Hes gonna get taken...i failed him."
I mumble.
"Im....going to go, i will send Cassandra to you soon...welcome to the dimitrescu castle."
Lady dimitrescu says, getting up and walking away.
I sit there with tears running down my face, I promised Ben I'd save him, and in the end...i ended up failing. Flies come once again, and the brunette appears this time, i guess her name is Cassandra.
"Hello, Thing. Mother told me to take you to a guest room, follow me."
Cassandra says, i just nod and stand up.
While walking, i start to wonder something...why am i getting an actual room? They apparently put people in that dungeon, what's different with me?
"..why do i have a room?"
I ask.
"I don't Honestly know myself, i think Mother wants you closer to her room so you cant run away in the night."
Cassandra says.
"Ah...makes sense."
I mumble.
"So, Mother told us about that deal...for what its worth, your devotion to protect the child is...noble."
Cassandra says.
"Thank you, but i doubt that's worth anything, i heard that Mother Miranda lady speaking, they're shipping Ben off tomorrow...and I'll be left here."
I say.
"Oh, im sorry...i just realized i dont know your name."
Cassandra says.
"(Y/n)..."
I say, if im aparently stuck here, keeping my name a secret is slightly idiotic, better than being called thing.
"It is a pleasure to meet you (y/n), i hope you make yourself at home here, now, I'm need to check on my sisters, so just call my name if you need me, im sure i would hear it."
Cassandra says.
"Okay, bye."
I say, she turns into flies and disappears again, leaving me to my silent regret.
I decide to leave the gloomy room, i dont know what to do..I've been claimed by a giant woman who i think wants to kill or eat me..or both, Ben is trapped and if i cant find him he'll leave and I'll never save him..!
"Jesus..."
I mumble, walking out into a cold courtyard, i see a familiar dress and walk over to them...its Lady dimitrescu, shes sitting on the cobblestone pavement.
"Hey..."
I say, she jumps and looks at me.
"I didn't expect you to leave your room so soon."
Lady dimitrescu says.
"Yeah...i didnt wanna stay there."
I say, i dont like the thought of me wasting time to find Ben before hes kidnapped again..
"Well i was just caring for the nemesia, would you like to help?"
Lady dimitrescu asks.
"Sure...are those flowers?"
I ask, Lady dimitrescu nods and points to lavender and orange flowers, they seem to thrive, even in the snow.
"They are very resilient, blooming in freezing conditions and somehow surviving."
Lady dimitrescu coos.
"They're strong."
I say, sitting next to her.
"Or smart."
Lady dimitrescu says.
"Huh?"
I hum.
"They simply cannot survive in hot climates, so they chose to live in the snow, less predatory life to eat or use them, and they look absolutely stunning for months to come...like your actions"
Lady dimitrescu says.
"My actions?"
I mumble.
"You risked your life for the child, doing whatever you could to survive, just so you would have a slim chance to escape, its marvelous really, humans are fascinating."
Lady dimitrescu says.
"...i wish i won, Ben could be suffering."
I say.
"I don't know what you may think of our intentions, but we would not allow harm to the child, especially since it appears i may have to give him away to Angie."
Lady dimitrescu says.
"Am i trapped in this village...?"
I ask.
"Well yes, but it isn't all bad, there are some people here that care for and protect us, like Mother Miranda."
Lady dimitrescu says.
"But i dont want to be here my entire life, I'll miss my family, my home, my...everything!"
I whimper, She frowns and puts an arm around my shoulder.
"Poor thing...don't worry, you will not be hunted while in this castle, the other rulers here would not dare to take you...as long as you keep away from outside the castle, you will not be harmed."
Lady dimitrescu says.
"you said im cattle, you want to eat me! And im gonna be dead and Ben's gonna be kidnapped..!"
I say, wiping my eyes that are threatening to spill tears, im terrified of everyone here..
i should've never listened to Ben, even if he lived in this village while the monsters roamed, he's still six years old, children aren't supposed to be leaders when it comes to certain death..!
I hear Lady Discrimitu wince, and from the corner of my eye i see her staring at me, she looks sympathetic.
"...i may regret this soon, but...I promise you that i will let no harm come to the child, even if he may be taken to Donna and Angie, i will make sure he will not be harmed by them."
Lady Dimitrescu says, i look up to her with wide eyes.
"...what?"
I mumble, she smiles.
"I am a woman who keeps promises, so please don't cry any longer, i don't care for watching you cry."
Lady dimitrescu says.
"Thank you.."
I say...i cant believe this...
"Now, get ready for bed soon, i will be heading back to my quarters now, farewell, Rabbit."
Lady dimitrescu says, getting up and walking away.
"Bye, Lady Dimitrescu."
I say, she smiles and waves as she enters the castle.
I sit there, relaxing in the cold as the wind brushes against me. when i came here the cold felt like hell, but now, its odly...comforting.
Ben, i promised you that I'd save you and your townspeople, and im not one to break a promise...but now somebody else is promising to help you...im not alone when it comes to protecting you..thank you so much, Lady Dimitrescu.
