Bucky didn't think he would be falling this hard for a man who he met from ripping a steering wheel out of his car. Yet, here he is, growing a silly little crush for no one other than Sam Wilson. Yeah, you heard that right, The Winter Soldier has fallen for The Falcon. Though, his feelings has been kept secret for a while.

What he didn't know was that a few hours his feeling will be revealed, not only putting him in danger, but Sam too.

"Hey, Bucky." Sam calls, slipping in his earpiece. Bucky doesn't answer, he does however, smile, a smile only for certain people.

"Where were you?" Bucky's brows scrunch together in confusion. "Here?"

"No, on the last mission?"

Making sure nobody survived.

"Making sure people weren't going to ambush us." Bucky lies, rolling his eyes at the expression Sam has on. He would tell Sam, but he doesn't want to be met with the look of disappointment that Sam seems to have when Bucky does something wrong.

"Right. Well, there's this new supervillain on the loose and we've gotta fight them. Think you're up for it?"

Bucky nods.

(Time skip muthafucka)

When they arrived they expected there to be Super-Soldiers meeting them halfway, not to see them all dead, littered throughout the base. Sam looks unbothered but Bucky knows what's going on in Sam's mind because he was thinking the same thing too. Seeing all of these corpses lay in their own blood irks something deep in Bucky's core. It brings a feeling of unsettling fear.

Because only they were supposed to know about it, and it certainly couldn't be John.

God, saying his name makes Bucky sick. Thinking he has the right to be the next Captain America, nobody can beat the original, not even Sam, if he had decided not to give the mantel up. Sure, Sam would make a fantastic Captain, but America isn't ready to see that yet.

Yet.

Bucky grabs Sam by the shoulder and slams him (unintentionally) hard against the world, a small whine being muffled by the hand of his mouth. He could hear something that only his ears could pick up.

Crying...?

Bucky removes his hand after a while, staring back at Sam who looks dazed. It causes Bucky to feel slightly uncomfortable but that feeling is soon gone when they both hear a blood curdling scream echo down the hall and Sam flinches before sprinting off, Bucky not far behind.
