July
As I come down the stairs I see Dalton in a dress shirt, black tie, and pants. He looks really good in maroon, it makes his eyes pop. Dalton's been a dream. He asked his manager to get two extra rooms. I don't know if he needed to pay for them or not, but every time I ask he change the subject or distract from it.
So when I see him waiting for us, us being Tori and I cause he worked it out for her too, I feel like I can't contain myself.
I walk as casually as I can to him. "Black nail polish and a chain?"
He beams, "What? I know you've seen me wear it before in interviews and stuff." He takes a step towards me, "I know cause your obsessed with me." And you're here with me, for me.
I roll my eyes. "Yeah I knew, it's just...." I sigh, "You're just so real here like this."
"Oh I'm real," he flex's his muscle. "100 percent skin and bone."
I start to laugh when a scream pulls me out of my thoughts. I turn just in time to see her jump into Alex's arms.
"They've gotten close," Dalton says putting his arms around my waist from behind.
"She likes him."
"He likes her."
"Double date?" I question. This is the first time we've seen the boys since the graduation party.
Even though I knew Alex and Tori had been texting every day, and the 'gift' he left her, I still didn't expect her to jump into his arms. But I guess it makes sense. Tori is taking the chance on love.
Tori told her dad that my family was going on a trip, I even talked to him and made up a lie for both of us. He believed it, and as Tori did what she could to make herself move slow up the stairs I know that this meant more to her than any gift anyone has ever given her. A weekend away from her dad, it was a perk that Alex was going to be there too.
I feel Dalton nod against my neck, "Defiantly." He pulls me closer to him. "I missed you."
"Mmm." I put my arms over his. "I missed you." He kisses my neck and I uncontrollably giggle.
"Well, aren't you too adorable?" It was Cayden
Dalton slings his arm over my shoulders, "We are, aren't we?" Cayden smiles genuinely.
I didn't know he was around, I mean it's fine, I'm just embarrassed how open I was with my flirting. But dalton not, he never is. Cayden smiles at me now, "How have you been Juliet?"
"Fine thanks, and yourself?"
"I am doing well thank you." Cayden moves his gaze from me to Dalton, "So Marry wanted to make sure that we have our guest stay backstage, there was an article released recently that talked about our local show. It also mentioned us and your...." Cayden glances at me, "Mystery girls. She wants them to do their best to stay out of sight until the arena is cleared out."
"Will I be able to see the show?"
Dalton kisses me on the temple, "Of course doll, I think what Marry means is that she just doesn't want any reporters to see you back here for your safety."
"My safety?"
"Unless you would like your tiny home in Carmel Indiana to become a madhouse. Even if you don't mind about being in the spotlight I would like to keep you out of it for as long as possible."
"Why?" it comes out too sharp. I didn't mean to sound so hurt but I do and I did. Dalton gives a small nod to Cayden and starts steering me away by his upper arm.
