Juliet
Why did I agree to this? I start looking through my bag for my dress. When I find it, I lay it out on the bed.
This is the first time that I will be meeting Cayden's family. I wonder if they will like me. What if they don't. I sit on the bed and bounce my knee. Does it even matter if they don't like me?
Dalton was a mama's boy, her opinion on basically everything mattered to him. Would it be like that with Cayden? And what about his sister? Who's first date is a wedding anyways? Especially when their whole family is going to be there.
This was too much. On one date I would be taken to a wedding where I knew no one, in a place where I knew no one. Why did I agree to this? I came here with thoughts of never leaving Dalton's side, and now I'm spending a day without him.
My phone begins to ring and I hessite, What if I leave now? I wonder if I can get a flight back to Indiana before it gets too late. Yet grabbing my phone I answer it before I have a chance to run away forever.
"How are you?" Cayden's voice almost instantly calms me down.
"Fine," I answer quickly, I wonder if he'll notice.
"Can I see you?"
"Yes." I know that seeing him will make me feel better, if his voice can calm me, imagine how much better I will feel when he's next to me.
"Alright, send me your room number?"
I decided that I will not move until Cayden knocks on my door. I bounce my legs and I let my thoughts run crazy, I do this because I know I'm staying. I know that when Cayden is here he will say all the right things and he will make me feel so much better.
I know I'm not going anywhere besides this wedding. I just hope I will have as much fun as Cayden will tell me I'll be having. When I hear his knock I almost run to the door, swinging it open.
He lets out an "Oof" as my body slams into his. "Hello." He chuckles his arms trailing around my shoulders and pulling me tightly to him.
I respond to his chest. "Hi."
"Come on, let's get inside." He walks forward and I backward as I stay glued to him. When the door shuts he peels me off of him. "That was a pretty good welcome."
"You think?"
He pushes his glasses up with the side of his hand. "Are you thinking about running?"
My mouth falls open just a little bit. "What?"
He raises an eyebrow. "So yes." He grabs my bags and carries them over to the bed. Does he think that doing that can ensure that I stay?
He acts like it, but I can assure you they have been there since I left Dalton's room. Thinking of yesterday makes me question if I'm as horrible as I think I am. Yesterday everything was different, I didn't even think of Cayden romantically, but as I thought about it more and more I wondered if there was anything there.
"Jules." He looks at me tilting his head to the side.
"Yes!" I toss my hands up. "Okay. I was going to run."
"Why?"
I push my head towards his. "Because this is our first date and I am meeting your flipping family!" He laughs. "Why are you laughing?!"
"Your cute when you get flustered." I push air out. "Do you want to know what I think?"
I cross my arms over my chest. "That's part of the reason I let you come, So, you could convince me to stay."
