The TV had just been shut off when a knock came from the front door, causing the hero to pause in her steps. Who the hell would be visiting her after midnight. No one really knew where she lived. At least, she didn't think so. It was always to her place of work, make sure she had nothing on her, before coming home.
Slowly, the hero tiptoed to the door, and as fast as she could move, unlocked it and threw the door open, but stopped at who was on her front porch. "I-I didn't know where else to go..." the woman whispers, wincing as her top lip rubbed over her bottom swollen and split lip. And then, she saw a little head peak out from behind the woman's legs, the girl not being more than four. Both looked terrified, but the hero never seen the villain that helps kick her ass, look so beaten up and scared.
Slowly, the hero takes the villain in her arms, and brings her inside. The little girl clinging to her mommy's leg. She sits them on the couch before going to fetch her first aid kit that she just refilled the other night. When Y/n walks in, the little girl now has her head on her mommy's lap, as the woman runs her fingers through the little girl's hair. "It's okay darling, Y/n'll protect us." The villain promises. Y/n silently nods to herself, almost forgetting the fact the villain knew her actually name.
"Where all are you hurt?" Y/n asks softly, sitting beside the villain.
"It's mostly bruises, a fat eye and split lip. Nothing too serious." Y/n gives a nod, focusing on wiping away the dried blood from the split lip. "And her? Was she hurt?" The villain immediately shakes her head.
"I didn't let him touch her." Y/n gives a nod.
"May I touch your stomach?" The raven haired villain gives a nod, and Y/n places a gentle hand under the woman's shirt, immediately healing the bruises and cracked ribs. "Better?"
A nod, "much, thank you."
"I'll make up a bed for the two of you. But in the morning, we're talking about this." The villain gives a nod, and Y/n quickly grabs some night clothes for them to sleep in, before fixing up the guest room.
Back in the living room, the villain picks her daughter up, before following Y/n into the guest room. "The bathroom is right across the hall, there are extra toothbrushes in the top drawer, and if you want to take a shower, go ahead. Are either of you hungry?"
"Can I get some water for her?" Y/n gives a nod, immediately grabbing two bottles from the fridge.
"Anything else?" The villain shakes her head, giving the hero a thankful smile.
"No. Thank you, for this."
"I may try and kick your butt, but I'm not gonna put you or your daughter out."
"I know..." Y/n gives a small smile, bidding them goodnight before heading to her bedroom, hoping they'll still be there in the morning.

She wakes early like always, a yawn escaping her lips as she stretches that feel good stretch. Slowly, she rises from her bed, heading to the bathroom to do her business first, before making herself look a bit presentable, then heading to the kitchen, where the former villain is standing in front of the sink. "Morning." The green eyed woman gives a barely there smile.
"Morning." It's quiet as Y/n goes on with making her coffee, getting out two mugs and doubles the scoop ratio to water. As she waits for her coffee to brew, Y/n hops up on the counter. "Lauren." Y/n looks over at the villain, furrowing her eyebrows. The woman gives a huff, rolling her eyes. "My name's Lauren."
"And your daughter?"
"Olivia. Look, if you call the cops, I won't be mad. I deserve it, but don't send my daughter back to her father. I will do whatever you want, just take care of her, or else she'll end up dead. He already promised me that." Y/n frowns, already wanting to turn the father in.
"I'll take care of her. But I'm not turning you in. I should, but I won't. Just, tell me everything first, then where your address is so I can get you guys clothes and throw him in jail." Y/n states calmly, looking over at Lauren. The villain is speechless, then gives a nod, telling the whole story.
"No one deserves that. What would you like to do Laur? If you want to hide out, you can. If you want to start fresh, I'll help any way possible. And even if you want to give up and hide away forever, you can. Will your husband out you though?"
Lauren shakes her head, "no. He got what he wants. He doesn't care about us. And can I take a few days to think about it?"
Y/n nods, focusing on making her coffee. "Of course, and no matter what, you and your daughter are safe here, and I will stand by and help as best as I can." Y/n promises, seeing the big weight releasing off Lauren's shoulders.
"Thank you."
"Does your daughter like pancakes?"
Lauren gives a chuckle, "she'll like you forever if you make her pancakes."
"What about her mother?" Lauren is shocked at the question and how Y/n can act so calm.
"Making my daughter happy will get you in my good graces. Along with wine, some good wine will definitely help." Y/n gives a chuckle, holding up her cup in silent cheers, knowing the next few days will be strange, but exciting.
