We got to Peter's home and although I was visibly confused, I went with him.
"Are you coming up with me?"
"Yes why not."
It was actually right for me to go on with him, hoping to find out more about today's events. When we got to the door he tried to open the apartment door as quietly as possible so that Aunt May would not see us and above all so that she would not see his face.
On a chwstt of drawers by the door was a note from his aunt."I am already in bed. There's food in the fridge.”
We sneaked into his room and sat on his bed, while the radio played softly in the background. I thought about what had happened today. About Flash and how Peter had defended himself and the two men and how he probably knew them. Even if I didn't notice, I stared at him the whole time.
"Look ... don't look at me like that. I can't tell you who the men are or how I know them. It is better, if you don't know, it's better if nobody knows.”
“Ok.”, I just said and smiled poorly.
I saw Peter touch his wound, his face contorted with pain, which had just started to bleed again. I got up to go into the kitchen and look for some ice. In the freezer compartment I found a bag of ice cubes, I took it and went back to Peter.
When I re-entered the room, he slid to the side on his bed and I sat down next to him. I carefully put the ice pack on his cheek, at first he flinched, but when he got used to the cold, he let it. The news was just coming on the radio:
“We have just received a breaking news. Several explosions were reported (...)."
Suddenly Peter got up and put on his jacket.
"Um, I just have to go out, 'cause I still have something to do. You can stay here if you want.”
Before I could even say anything, he had already grabbed his bag and was gone. Peter was acting really strange. He knew things, but didn't say where from or why, kept disappearing and hiding something. I went to his window and pulled the curtain a crack so I could look down at the street. He ran out of the house below and disappeared a few meters down an alley. I saw something scurry past the sky, Iron-Man.
When I looked back at the alley in which Peter had disappeared, I could see Spider-Man running out of it and disappearing in the same direction as Iron-Man.What if Peter was Spider-Man?
At that moment I was sure that what Peter was hiding the whole time was his Spider-Man identity. I quickly grabbed a piece of paper and pen to leave a message for him:
“I went home, hope you know that you can trust me! Maybe you'll tell what's wrong with you soon. I'll see you at school tomorrow.”
I didn't expect him to tell me, after all, it was a big deal, but I didn't have to tell him that I knew either. After placing the note on his pillow, I snuck out of the apartment and walked home with a smile on my face.
