I sat on the bus and looked out the window. I thought about yesterday. Peter and I were friends, but yesterday something had been different. We were so close and I didn't mean we slept in the same bed.

I spent the rest of the day with Peter, but the next time I didn't see him until Wednesday. He hadn't come to school on Monday and Tuesday, he didn't want anyone to notice his injuries and that would make him difficult to explain.

I had spent Tuesday afternoon with Ned and MJ, after all, they were my friends too. We met and at Ned's, played video games, ate pizza, and prepared for academic decathlon training the next day.

Since it was Wednesday, the physical education classes awaited us again for the first two hours. We were all sitting on the floor in the hall and the teacher began to speak: “First of all, we need teams of two again and to make things faster you will use the same partner as last week. As you all know, the Homecoming Ball is coming up soon and since we would like to avoid any embarrassment, we will now practice some simple dances!”

A murmur and moan went through the crowd, but I didn't really mind. I had nothing against dancing and neither against Peter as my partner. Everyone spread out so that everyone had enough space.

"So now all the boys, hands on the girl's hips and the girls, hands on the boy's chests"

I put my hands very tentatively on his chest, I knew he was still green and blue.“

"Is that okay or am I hurting you?”

“No, everything's fine. It's not as bad as it was on Friday.”

At first the dancing was a bit of a mess, but after a while it worked out pretty well for most of them. When the lesson was over and everyone disappeared into the locker room, I took Peter aside for a moment.

“Peter…”

“Yes?”

“There's something else about Friday that you don't know. But, well, I'd like to tell you more. Can I come to you later? It doesn't take long either.”

“Yes… of course.”
He turned around and walked towards the changing room and just said: “It wouldn't be bad if it took a long time.”
Peter winked at me and then disappeared.

Nothing interesting happened until the afternoon training. Liz was a few minutes late.

“So folks, there is news. I just found out that the competition has been brought forward. So the day after tomorrow, on Friday at 8:00 a.m. we will drive off. I hope this is not a problem for anyone here.”

Everyone shook their heads and since that was probably the last training session, everyone was very focused.
